Mumfor1st etc - this is a satirical thread started in response to the ludicrous middle-class panic about education which often seems to boil down to not wanting thier children to mix with working class kids.

Likewise the comments about social housing are taking the piss out of middle class people who are in such a panic that they but into the idea of a gated development which somehow keeps them 'seaparate' from society as a whole.
You may need to take you soh in for MOT.

mumfor1standfinaltime · 30/03/2006 13:44

expatinscotland · 30/03/2006 13:44

I hope he didn't snag his earring on your son, b/c nits can be transmitted in such a fashion :o

Tutter · 30/03/2006 13:44

OK OK so it's from the Express, bt at least it wasn't the Daily Mail...

sandyballs · 30/03/2006 13:44

Oh, this has come a just the right time Grin.
Most I've laughed for ages Grin

mumfor1standfinaltime · 30/03/2006 13:46

tutteretc. I am fully aware of housing policy thanks and how crap it is. I have been trying to buy my own home for many years. I am just too working class to afford it!
scuttles off for good this time..

harpsichordcarrier · 30/03/2006 13:47

mumfor1standfinaltime I promise we are being satirical (about middle class attitudes)
SL those turkey twizzlers look like dog turds

oliveoil · 30/03/2006 13:48

mum1st - but there is a link, come on. The only people looking at the Burberry dress (18-24mths) £42, in the rip off shop I was in yesterday were chavesque. And quite common it has to said.

I was in there buying a posh cutlery set for my working class, budding snob of a child of 19 months, she will go far with a parent like moi.

Blu · 30/03/2006 13:48

Actually ff, Mum1sttime has a good point - it could have been worse. he could have been touched by a chav...or even a paedophile....
Working Class does have hovis and brass band music, after all.

MissChief · 30/03/2006 13:49

or even a paediatrician...

oliveoil · 30/03/2006 13:49

and they all look after their own.......

Tortington · 30/03/2006 13:49

you should move, if your in a public park your garden is obviously not big enough to have its own slide.

oliveoil · 30/03/2006 13:51

yes, house buying is terribly anti-working class

ff, has he cross contaminated your other child yet, you may have to quarantine.

Tutter · 30/03/2006 13:53

am also a tad confused by the link between working class and wealth

not much of one imho

don't think banks have a policy not to lend to the working classes

fairyfly · 30/03/2006 13:54

My father also is an Engineer, raised on a council estate in Blackpool, who's parents were a Bin man and a Bar Maid.

I now deny all knowledge of him and cross the street if i see him approaching.

harpsichordcarrier · 30/03/2006 13:54

salt of the earth etc

mumfor1standfinaltime · 30/03/2006 13:55

Ok so Im back, and Ok so I probably missed the point. Just find the link between chav and working class a big no no!
I live on a new estate with private housing (well most of it is students renting out over priced houses but thats another thread altogether!) and their is one particular family -who are chavs - who live opposite who are dole scroungers and live in the 4 bed house for free. I do not want to be tarnished with the same brush. I work, I pay my way.
To me a chav is a dole scrounger/unemployable wretch! Grin

Tutter · 30/03/2006 13:55

And if anyone dares to suggest I was educated at a comp in Barnsley I'll ave em
