Pikelet
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Pikelet can refer to either:

In Australia, New Zealand, and the northwest of England, a small, thick colonial-style pancake, known in parts of Britain as a drop-scone or Scotch pancake. See Pancake.

A British regional dialect word variously denoting a flatter variant on crumpet, a standard crumpet or muffin. See Crumpet.

georginarf · 30/03/2006 16:33

yes my parents are Kiwis and a pikelet is a scotch pancake - yummy

"crumpet" isn't posh is it? unless used to mean 'women I'd like to shag'

MissChief · 30/03/2006 16:33

can't yr milkman deliver tango FGS?

PeachyClair · 30/03/2006 16:33

Round here, a pikelet is what you get if you let your daughter near our good friend Mr Pike and wait nine months

Grin Wink
zippitippitoes · 30/03/2006 16:33

has anybody got acces to the thickipaedia for cross referencing?

zippitippitoes · 30/03/2006 16:34

PeachyClair · 30/03/2006 16:35

Pop, videos, chips delivered. And fish but no-one bought that.

Tango? Nah coz the milky goes up posh estate after and puts load of that pure juice stuff on for them. Pure acid if you ask me. Can't be good for them. No, if you want to live longer eat preservatives. In the name, innit?

Blu · 30/03/2006 16:38

Angeliz - just poking fun at people who are worried about the class of children their kids mix with.

And they do exist.

if the cap fits....

handlemecarefully · 30/03/2006 16:40

Blu · 30/03/2006 16:43

Well, yes, if they're idiots! There are posh / private school people on this thread, but none of them are idiots or snobbish!

rararaweregoingtosmashtheoiks · 30/03/2006 16:55

meowmix · 30/03/2006 16:55

I thought taking the piss out of one another/our own foibles and quirks was part of the Mumsnet Promise?
