if we got rid of Tony then perhaps we'd have a government that cares and they would commission a public inquiry into the prevention of the working class, must be some judge who could lead it

My dad was also an engineer - he's retired now. He grew up in a rough neighbourhood and his dad was a carpenter and his mother a washing lady.

But no way I'd cross the street when I saw him coming b/c he now owns homes in three different countries :o.

Hi guys realised that this thread was not serious and a joke from beginning and have been having a giggle myself but then came across that it was started with regard to an education post and paranoia has set in as I sterted a thread about not wanting my dd to go to my local primary school - however it is no way because I think I am better that the area I live in but it is not a nice area at all and I would like my daughter not to be faced with the choices that this area offers iyswim - sorry again if I'm being paranoid!!

i disagree, i think that if we collectivley lobbied tony for the seperation of the working classes he would agree

bloody great idea

that way they're out of sight AND stay in the rough parts of the country, ne'er to approach the home counties

My other child is at Boarding school, at least one isn't an embarassment to the family.

I'm not sure judges know that there are working class people left in the UK.

working class could stop moaning about not being able to go down pits any more then. it's their heritage so very apt

keep him there, you can't be too careful

Have you booked your relaxing oil dripping hot stone massage session for £3458.99 yet? It will make you feel a lot better.

tbh I think some people might find this thread quite painful, those who had managed to forget about the existence of the working classes

we should be careful what we say on a public forum

meowmix · 30/03/2006 14:09

but if we put them all down the mines who's going to do all the jobs we don't want to do? I think its far better to make them wear radiation suits instead so that none of us get infected. Obviously they could then decorate them as they chose (burberry, pearly queen, oversized earrings, football shirt etc)

absolutely zippi - sensitively observed

i, personally, have found various ways to ignore their existence - large 4x4s enable one to avoid spotting poor people sitting at bus stops, for example

I'd be more worried about the working-class boy who has been touched by the middle-class chav!!!! He'll need counselling for the rest of his life no doubt!

true Rhubarb. He was probably expecting couscous and authentically made Annabel Karmel tagine for his lunch but got twizzlers instead. oh the horror.
