Hi

this is my first post but have lurked for sometime. My 3yo DS has lost his favourite stuffed dog tonight in Blackpool and I am putting a plea out there if anyone can help me! Its a very tatty looking, sorry well loved(!) dog and we dropped it near the south pier about 7pm-long search but no joy. I am devastated and feel so sorry for him-he sobbed all the way home-as did I. I hope someone can help us.

Any suggestions how we can make him feel better tomorrow? Thinking build a bear and obviously lots of hugs but if you have been in a similar situation any ideas are more than welcome.

Many thanks in advance
Balletpump

ps-if you saw me sobbing on Blackpool front and stopped to help thank you as well x

Mr Balletpump here, have to thank you all for your support in such troubling times - Looking at all the components it is definately a Jellycat! But has components of so many! Definately has the face of scamp & looks well loved in the pictures posted but can't find the exactmatch anywhere on line. Will get in touch with Jellycat for sure. Still hoping for the long shot that someone in Blackpool will come up trumps. Its been hard seeing my son & wife so upset about losing a teddy but he is part of the family. Funny eh?

When Mr Moo went missing we thought that was it and i thought 'we would have to find a replacement' but then i looked back onto the memories, him cuddling him everynight, even as a newborn baby. I hope he turns up.

ShriekingLisa · 29/10/2011 00:17

OK Thanks Bogey

PattySimcox · 29/10/2011 00:17

NOt trivial at all - heartbreaking for you all. I feel your pain - both dsis and I have had this with our son's treasured toys.

We were unable to find a spare for DS' toy - pre internet access days.

Dsis ended up bidding £70 to get one from France for DNephew.

Thankfully DD and Dniece had regularly rotated spares, alhtough DD came across her spare and so now has both on condition that they do not leave her room - easier as she is 7.

Really really hope you find it / a replacement. I've just rifled through DDs soft toy collection as I thought we had one a bit like that which you could have had but it is a completely different colour.

ShriekingLisa · 29/10/2011 00:21

I've put it on my FB

LoopyLoopsPussInBoots · 29/10/2011 00:21

Oh dear lord, I looked through all these, and the very last two photos, just, oh god. not for public... consumption! Shock

Smellslikecatspee · 29/10/2011 00:25

This why I bloody love MN

cakeismysaviour · 29/10/2011 00:26

Second whoever suggested contacting the local paper, I bet the Blackpool local paper would do a story to try and help DS and his toy dog to be reunited.

Hungrydragon · 29/10/2011 00:26

is this too light?

LoopyLoopsPussInBoots · 29/10/2011 00:28

Hungry! That's got to be it!

cakeismysaviour · 29/10/2011 00:29

Ooooo he does look promising dragon!

LoopyLoopsPussInBoots · 29/10/2011 00:30

I'm sure of it.

cakeismysaviour · 29/10/2011 00:32

I have looked back and forth between the OP's photos and dragon's link and I am convinced too!

Hungrydragon · 29/10/2011 00:33

It's annoying as you can't see the patch, I don't know whether it's the same and lighter as it hasn't been in the washing machine a gazilllion times loved enough?

RIZZ0 · 29/10/2011 00:33

Sorry to hear of your loss!! I also thought it was Malcolm Mutt Tot but the ears are shorter aren't they?

I wonder if a visit from the travelling Mumsnet Pom Bear might cheer him up? See the thread here

balletpump · 29/10/2011 00:34

Mr Balletpump - the colour is exact!!! :) just trying to find better pictures now to confirm! Thanks

RIZZ0 · 29/10/2011 00:35

Oh Hungry that's as near as dammit! Chuck him in a muddy puddle then put him through the wash and job done!

Hungrydragon · 29/10/2011 00:38

GalaxyAddict · 29/10/2011 00:38

How can I post a photo of my dog on here? He would love to come & live with the OP's family anyway.

I am on my iPhone, can I email a photo of the dog to someone technical who knows how to add the photo Smile

LeBOOOf · 29/10/2011 00:40

Oh yes- soak him in tea!

cakeismysaviour · 29/10/2011 00:41

Mr Balletpump - Perhaps email the ebay seller, I'm sure he/she would send some more pics!
