Hi

this is my first post but have lurked for sometime. My 3yo DS has lost his favourite stuffed dog tonight in Blackpool and I am putting a plea out there if anyone can help me! Its a very tatty looking, sorry well loved(!) dog and we dropped it near the south pier about 7pm-long search but no joy. I am devastated and feel so sorry for him-he sobbed all the way home-as did I. I hope someone can help us.

Any suggestions how we can make him feel better tomorrow? Thinking build a bear and obviously lots of hugs but if you have been in a similar situation any ideas are more than welcome.

Many thanks in advance
Balletpump

ps-if you saw me sobbing on Blackpool front and stopped to help thank you as well x

This reminds me of the time my sister left her comfort fleece, which as so well used it was now known as 'triangle fleece' on a plane. The air stewardess went back on the plane to retrieve it after hearing my sister's wails, and then got a telling off for breaking protocol after giving it back!

Hi everyone
I couldn't find this thread so have started another one on chat then found this one.
Please be warned its very self piting as was feeling sorry for myself when I posted. Now just feel stupid Blush
Anyway the long and short of it is the dog from ebay was not quite right so back to square one. Think its probably time to let it go now.
Just wanted to say thanks again for the postcards they have been fab and DS has loved them. Perhaps one day the other one might even turn up but I hope he well loved by someone

Ask MNHQ to stick them together pelvic, reports your post and ask - they can only say no. :)

I have a similar stuffed dog I'm willing to post to you, if you pay the postage, or I can make a similar one. Again, if you pay for the postage as I live in the United States.

Gotgrey, if it's the same dog, I'll pay for the postage if only it'll produce a happy ending!
I also know a MNer who lives in the UK but is currently in the US at her parents (PA) who you could post it to, she could bring it the UK and post it to balletpump. That would probs be cheaper...

Oh no, I was so hoping for a happy ending.

lettinggo your story about your Mam has had me bawling. It sounds so similar to me, DD (4) and DH. And having had a really rough morning butting heads, and consequently feeling like the World's Worst Mother, your story has give me hope.

BalletShoes so sorry Doggy is gone for good. Will DS really notice the difference?

Hi everyone
Thank you for postcards- and still they come and all fabulous. Thank you gotgrey and jacks for your offer but I have decided with a heavy heart to let this go. When the new dog arrived it had a label - giftworks so we emailled with a photo and they sent a prompt and lovely reply saying it was one of their dogs but no longer in stock. Sad
So the plan is to say the new little one is his brother!! I have bought a card and ordered a copy of dogger as suggested by another poster and am going to write in the card that the dog is loving his hol and will return one day but here is new brother to look after. Hopefully he can move on- ok me as well!! When the dog disappeared we did get one from build a bear and he is taken with that but has woke up screaming of his old friend.
I feel I can do no more now and everyone has been so helpful, I cannot express my gratitude enough. It's Mr BP birthday on Monday so may do it then- will update though!
This thread has made me realise alot about myself as a parent and that strangers in RL are fab online friends. The postcards and messages have been so wonderful- my only regret is this does not have the dream happy ending I would have loved.
Thanks again!
BP x

My offer still stands. I really think I could replicate this dog. I think you could make him look ratty. Or, you could say that he fell in the water, and is all nice and clean now. I would be willing to pay to ship it to you. I cannot stand the thought of a child and his mother being in distress. My youngest son still has his rainbow bunny. Of course, he doesn't sleep w/her any more because he is 13yrs old now. But, I couldn't imagine what life would have been like for him, if she had disappeared. He slept w/her every night.
