Hi

this is my first post but have lurked for sometime. My 3yo DS has lost his favourite stuffed dog tonight in Blackpool and I am putting a plea out there if anyone can help me! Its a very tatty looking, sorry well loved(!) dog and we dropped it near the south pier about 7pm-long search but no joy. I am devastated and feel so sorry for him-he sobbed all the way home-as did I. I hope someone can help us.

Any suggestions how we can make him feel better tomorrow? Thinking build a bear and obviously lots of hugs but if you have been in a similar situation any ideas are more than welcome.

Many thanks in advance
Balletpump

ps-if you saw me sobbing on Blackpool front and stopped to help thank you as well x

It's been relisted so they'll probably agree to another photo to sell it?

chipmonkey · 29/10/2011 00:49

That is deffo the same dog!

cakeismysaviour · 29/10/2011 00:50

Really must go to bed soon, do let us know how you get on Balletpump and Mr Balletpump. :)

Hungrydragon · 29/10/2011 00:54

thederkinsdame nearly, but no eye patch Sad

GalaxyAddict · 29/10/2011 00:55

Right, think I may have worked it out now, adding a link business - this is the same as the dog I have who would be more that happy to come & live with the Balletpump's.

cakeismysaviour · 29/10/2011 01:03

Actually he does look like he has a patch, wish they had used a better photo!

thederkinsdame · 29/10/2011 01:05

Hope you find him or a suitable replacement mrsballetpump

thederkinsdame · 29/10/2011 01:05

Or balletpump even. Sorry it's past my bedtime!

balletpump · 29/10/2011 01:08

Mr Balletpump here again - I have mailed the seller although by the length of my gushing email and the length of this thread even if they are still awake at this unholy hour it may be some time before I get an update. But i'll let you know. It's definately the closest by far though!

I'm so sorry, I have nothing helpful to add but am si watching this thread and crossing the fingers for a happy ending!

You're all so lovely.

balletpump · 29/10/2011 02:15

Mr BP - thanks for following the saga - It looks like the seller is (sensibly) in bed. You have been so supportive & my ds is actually quite a nice guy & looks out for his folks so I really appreciate you guys looking out for us. We still really want to get the original (it's hard to fake those battle scars) & will follow you advice about the local press. We promise to keep you up dated about what happens coming up. Thanks to Hungrydragon especially who might have sourced an original ringer!?! My ds is a stand up guy & to lose his best friend for some one who only looks out for others is huge! We'll make a fuss of him tomorrow (today?) while we see if we can get the original or find a sub. I can count on one hand the times my ds has slept in our bed but I'll see if he'll budge up now for me!

Awwww. Goodnight Mr. BP. I hope you find him tomorrow!

MrsBloodyTroll · 29/10/2011 02:18

Good luck Balletpump family! Keep us posted.

Second story of lost favourite toy today! (someone lost a blanky earlier).

Just a thought about trying to find the original doggie - how about printing out a photo from your flickr collection and offering a small reward (eg £20) for his return, put this on posters all over the south pier and a half mile radius? Also pass copies to all the staff who work there, they may have heard or seen someone discussing a found doggie. Does the premises have a Lost Property Office? (I don't know Blackpool at all but I'm guessing they get lost property like coats, phones, toys, et quite a bit). You'd prob have to print at least 100 copies. Don't let your DS see you doing it; definitely go along with the "Doggie gone on an adventure" story and send him a letter/postcard thing.

Am in the south but keeping my fingers crossed for you all. I'd be upset if it happened to us too, definitely not trivial at all.

Marking place and crossing fingers, sad and sweet thread at the same time Smile

Hungrydragon · 29/10/2011 07:58

Fx, ask around what local face book sites there are. Then postbon as many as you can, especially ones used by local traders, they are more likely to have it propped on their window sill or checkout if it's been handed in somewhere.

Magneto · 29/10/2011 08:02

I think after reading this I can finally forgive my mum for refusing to let me take my favourite teddy and doll on holiday with us when I was 6 (I still have them and they are in ds's room now).

Good luck balletpumps!

Teaandcakeplease · 29/10/2011 08:24

Ebay was my saviour when my DD lost her beloved doggy and when my son lost his bunny. I hope you find it or a replacement balletpump. When I e-mailed a seller about it, they added a buy it now option and despatched it within 24 hrs 1st class. So hopefully after a thorough soaking in tea etc he'll be perfect Smile

AlmaMartyr · 29/10/2011 08:30

I know this sounds a bit OTT but you could call the local police? My DD lost her toy rabbit and someone advised me to do that and I was desperate enough to try although I felt like an idiot. They didn't have Rabbit but said they do get quite a few soft toys handed in as lost property and took my details in case it showed up. So worth a try?

MigratingCoconuts · 29/10/2011 08:47
