Hi

this is my first post but have lurked for sometime. My 3yo DS has lost his favourite stuffed dog tonight in Blackpool and I am putting a plea out there if anyone can help me! Its a very tatty looking, sorry well loved(!) dog and we dropped it near the south pier about 7pm-long search but no joy. I am devastated and feel so sorry for him-he sobbed all the way home-as did I. I hope someone can help us.

Any suggestions how we can make him feel better tomorrow? Thinking build a bear and obviously lots of hugs but if you have been in a similar situation any ideas are more than welcome.

Many thanks in advance
Balletpump

ps-if you saw me sobbing on Blackpool front and stopped to help thank you as well x

Jajas stop it!! I will start crying again!!!! Just to confirm he is similar to Walmart dog but not quite-he was actually bought at a garden centre near us before he was born. I hope I haven't forgot to Pm anyone-if I did I am not being rude its all a bit mad at moment with this dog missing and work is beyond poo! And I have a cold (balletpump is actually at her own pity party right now)-poor me!!!
Hopefully more cards will arrive in morning-love the paw print katie middleton!

Aaaw bp. Sorry you're feeling yucky. was it a wyevale perchance? I spend more time looking at the soft toys than I ever do at actual plants Grin

Honeydragon · 02/11/2011 19:32

It's hungry btw, I've taken my halloween costume off Wink

Mouseface · 02/11/2011 19:49

Sorry you're feeling pants.

Is there just you bidding for the dog? I mean, has anyone else on here, offered to bid alongside you to make sure we/you get it?

I'd be willing to if you link it? xx

MrsBloomingTroll · 02/11/2011 20:22

They have plants at Wyevale, honeydragon? Have never got that far...always spend time at the soft play/farm shop/cafe/looking at fish/present shopping/clothes shopping.

You learn something new every day!

Honeydragon · 02/11/2011 20:24

Don't forget the cake too!

Honeydragon · 02/11/2011 20:27

hang on, farm shop and soft play! I suspect we share the same Wyecale Grin

near a retail village?

MrsBloomingTroll · 02/11/2011 20:31

No, not the same Wyevale.

I've been to a few Wyevales because my PILs like to hang out at garden centres and they are all quite similar! They seem to have all just installed soft play, for example.

But we digress! We must remain focussed on the search for the dog! Away with you and your talk of garden centre cake! drools

balletpump · 02/11/2011 20:36

Not a Wyevales sadly. Mr BP nearly had heart attack earlier when he couldn't find the damn thing on eBay-turns out our internet was just mega slow. I think if someone else bids it may just finish him off!! Pity party has been helped by packet of choc digestive biscuits and at least getting some work done Hmm
Right off to bed -too tired to stay up and new copy of Red magazine, full of things I can't afford, to look at! ( I have found style and beauty board on here very similar!)
Thursday then friday then bidday!!!! And hopefully back to some sort of normality-but lots of new friends xx

Aaaah ...yes I too have visited too many garden centres with the PiLs, hence I suspected you were near mine.

midnightexpress · 02/11/2011 20:54

Oh what a lovely thread. Poor DS. I'd be happy to send him a postcard from Scotland if that is on the route of his world tour. Good luck on Saturday!

KickArseQueen · 02/11/2011 21:12

Balletpump, have you considered sending the ebayer with the dog a link to this thread?

MrsBloomingTroll · 02/11/2011 21:26

OP, have you appealed on your local Freecycle group, assuming the garden centre was local to you?

You never know, someone else may have bought one. I've seen such appeals on my local Freecycle.

Thumbwitch · 02/11/2011 21:35

Postcard from Australia in the post yesterday (still today for you but hey) so should be with you in around a week. I was assured by the post lady that it will travel just as slowly quickly as any other piece of post. Grin

Fingers crossed for you for the ebay dog!

(Mouseface - if you bid as well, won't that just push the price up?? Confused)

Choccycakeisace · 02/11/2011 21:45

Love this thread, both my dds have v special rabbits and they would be devastated if anything ever happened to them. I hope you win the eBay auction

Can offer a postcard from rainy sunny south Devon if you would like one

sugarandspiceandallthingsnice · 03/11/2011 01:04

This thread has made me cry. Keeping all fingers crossed for ebay bidding. I know you have lots of postcards on their way but if you would like another from Norfolk please let me know.

Mouseface · 03/11/2011 09:23

Thumb - Hello BTW lovely xx - Yes, it would but I'd be happy to buy it Smile

At least that way it gauntness MiniBP will get it. I'd hate it if he didn't Sad.

Honeydragon · 03/11/2011 09:27

Lol at guarantees becoming gauntless Smile

Honeydragon · 03/11/2011 09:28

Lol AGAIN at gauntness becoming gauntless Grin

Honeydragon · 03/11/2011 09:29

Damn you the depths of Hell autocorrect!!!!!

Thumbwitch · 03/11/2011 10:03

PMSL at Honey's frustration with her autocorrect Grin

Yes, I really hope miniBP gets his dog - such a shame the original didn't show up! I never understand why people don't realise that a child is probably in bits over their lost toy - and just leave it where it can be found. At least for a day or two, not just an hour, anyway. :(

KickArseQueen · 03/11/2011 10:20

Thumbwitch, There really should be some sort of public educating campaign to get Teddies back home! ( Killed any good threads lately BTW? Good to see you are still here! :) )

Thumbwitch · 03/11/2011 10:55

(I have killed a few, yes! And still going strong on one of the threadkillers' threads, shame our alternative on died a death, wasn't it Grin)

messymammy · 03/11/2011 11:44
