Ok I realise this should really be in Big/slim etc but I prefer it over here!

When I moan about my hugeness, friends say 'but you've had (pause) two babies' - my twins are nearly 8 months old so can really no longer be used as an excuse for the fact I'm at least two stone overweight.

PLEASE join me if any of you twin/more mums have flab to lose this year... I could do with the moral support. Anyone up for it?
I'm planning to do lowish-carb, kind of like SW red days I think. Could probably do with a clearer plan really.

Thanks, I know can't wait. Mum and sis are coming up to take over... really going to try to put all thoughts of children out of my mind for 24hrs!

Wow well done you, that's dedication.
I daren't weigh myself after a (heavenly) weekend of SERIOUS overindulgence. Twas well worth a few pounds on... although am going to start boot camp tomorrow. Back to induction style I think minus some of the fat. It was once I let the odd cheat slip in that it all started to go wrong. Weddings and other such events are creeping up on me and still feel decidedly podgy!

Hi ladies. I've been absent due to being crap. I've avoided the scales but stepped on today.

Starting weight: 154 lbs
Current weight: 148 lbs
Target weight: 140 lbs

Not actually too bad - i realise my weight loss is slow (i've lost 6lbs in 12 weeks, so half a pound a week) but this is through moderate eating rather than real dieting so i'm quite pleased really. Going to really try now to lose at least another 2 lbs before I go on hols to France.

I've also bought some new clothes (Only M&S!) so feeling better about myself overall.

How is everyone else doing?

smokeybacon · 04/04/2011 19:16

Ummmm, hello. Another absentee here. Sorry. Am finding it more and more tricky to find the time to come on. Will try harder.

Well done everyone. I see the weight is coming off. Keep up the good work. Interested to hear how the Shred is, LL. Is it horribly hard?

I think the last time I was on was at least a month ago as I was just about to go skiing, and if I remember correctly, had only just broken into the 11stone barrier from 12. Well, I put on a pound whilst away (carbs carbs and more carbs with wine wine and more wine!), but since coming back have lost 6lbs!!

So weight ( as of last Thursday ) is 11stone 8 lbs which I am pretty chuffed about. 8lbs to go.

tartiflette · 04/04/2011 20:00

Well done smokey - I am 11st 8 too! Although this is not such a good thing in my case as I have been for about 4 weeks and seem to have acquired a bit of a cake/chocolate habit.

I've bought few new clothes too MM and it does feel good although bit worried this may have contributed to my complacency. It's so impressive that you've lost through being sensible with no crazy dieting. Good that you have France to aim for in the short term.

I have a wedding 4th June and MUST be ship shape by then.

Have made my boring salad for work tomorrow: onwards and upwards!

well done smokey - that is really good going!

tarti interesting...you've reached a "comfortable" (as in easy to maintain/look good etc) weight and wondering can you be arsed to keep losing? Is the weight you are aiming for your pre-preg weight, or a weight from way back? I'm very interested as I used to get to this point over and over. And always gained again, until when I lost all the weight properly, then I kept i off, as I guessed I finally knoew how good it felt to feel slim.

sorry for banging on....

tartiflette · 05/04/2011 14:46

Yes exactly MM although I wouldn't claim to look good at the moment it's more a case of looking how I usually do ie slightly overweight. I seem to have an inability to make being properly thin actually happen, I'm sure it's psycholological Confused I have once in my adult life got to my current target (ten and a half stone-ish...) and felt great, although actually for my height I could have lost another half stone or so to feel/look even better. I fear 10st might be a bit unrealistic now.

For now I would settle for under 11st! Or under 11st frigging 8 which is what I'm stuck at. JUST EAT LESS stupid woman

LL when you mentioned revising target weight did you mean revising it downwards?

I don't believe a word of it Lottie.

OK I am going to lose 17lb to get down to 9st 13. No more excuses. Have been AWFUL with food the last few weeks and am in danger of undoing all the good work. I have got a night out tomorrow but will just drink white/clear stuff and eat low carb and not use it as an excuse to delay for yet another day.

Oh good, am all for obsessive posting. Have not weighed myself this morning but I think I'm 11st 2. Anything over 11 tips me over into fat territory, I feel hideous.

Breakfast - cheese omelette
Lunch - smoked salmon salad
Dinner - tbc, am out for dinner so steak and green veg ideally. Wine too no doubt but going out is so rare I'm going to have it anyway and enjoy it!

Broccoli recipe looks DELISH and we have a surplus from the allotment at the moment so thanks for that. Wish I had some lovely recipe to reciprocate but am rusty at the old low carbing and sticking to the obvious basics at the moment. Will revisit the old India and Nerys book this week and try something new.
Where you going on holiday again?

Agreed!

Right, just checking in after last night's dinner out. Menu was not as diet friendly as I'd hoped - had stroganoff but left most of the rice. Then (drunk) proceeded to snaffle other people's puddings [shame]
So not my finest hour but today am 11st nothing: the surplus is shifting, so I feel v positive.

Breakfast - 2 boiled eggs.

Oh God, having children has merely served to reignite a passion for fishfingers which had lain dormant for many years... Also, why is it so hard to be a mother and get through a day without a cake-faceoff? Good luck this afternoon. I feel like I'm In The Zone now so should be okay today although we don't have much food in the house which is always a danger area.

Goodness knows how to keep it off. I'd imagine I'll reintroduce all vegetables bar potatoes, add beans and lentils and suchlike and hope for the best, but I fear I will still need rules (a night a week off, two nights where I'm allowed to drink, one bit of cake a week - that sort of thing) as I am a total freak and only seem to respond to that kind of approach. Maybe it would just become natural after a while?

Wow, excellent work! Yes I already feel less bloated, although am same weight as yesterday:

Today: 11st
Lost: 2lb

Breakfast: 2 boiled eggs
Lunch: ummmm... tuna salad?
Dinner: lentil soup (ok not low carb I know, but Sainsbos man not coming until 9pm tonight and I have NO FOOD... making it myself so no nasties in it at least).

Am writing up my Masters dissertation today, it's prime nibbling time as I try every trick in the book to avoid actually knuckling down and doing the bloody work. Fortunately there's naff all to snack on so we should be ok Smile

I wish your DH would do my shopping. Mine came home with sushi the other day when I had sent him out to get something carb free for lunch, and something for the girls Hmm Plus sushi rice, it turns out, is HARD to get out of the cracks between the floorboards.
