Ok I realise this should really be in Big/slim etc but I prefer it over here!

When I moan about my hugeness, friends say 'but you've had (pause) two babies' - my twins are nearly 8 months old so can really no longer be used as an excuse for the fact I'm at least two stone overweight.

PLEASE join me if any of you twin/more mums have flab to lose this year... I could do with the moral support. Anyone up for it?
I'm planning to do lowish-carb, kind of like SW red days I think. Could probably do with a clearer plan really.

Oh god honestly it's nothing to be impressed by, it's a stupid masters in education which my school encouraged me to do when I started there and I've been dragging out, postponing bits of it ever since. Have well and truly had enough of it now. Happily I've nearly finished this essay thank the dear lord.

Hm I can see problems on the horizon with my two's eating patterns too. M is pretty adventurous but averse to bread and most other carbs . Rose likes anything beige but not really meat or unless disguised. Both ok with fruit fortunately and some but not all veg. No they didn't eat the sushi although Maggie picked off and ate the seaweed Hmm
What are your trieds and testeds? I think mine are still at the age where they should be eating everything, whereas you've hit that stage where they all become fussy. I really should read some toddler books Blush

Impressive! I keep meaning to get the Jamie book as I caught some of the TV series and it all looked great.
If it makes you feel better I scoffed two bits of garlic bread which I had made to stop DH grousing about not being full enough. Woops.
Hope MIL visit is ok. I've got my mum here too for a couple of days which is making staying on the straight and narrow pretty hard....

Breakfast: cheese omelette
Lunch: Club sandwich (oops)

I am actually too embarrassed to relate the food events of the last 24 or so hours.... suffice to say I'll be back on the wagon tomorrow.
Hope the MIL visit is going ok. Mum's left now so I have no further excuses...

Hi ladies. I am a woman of weak will.
My weaknesses are wine and ginger nuts.
I still need to lose half a stone.
I am sufficiently "unfat" to feel complacent, but am not by any means at my goal weight.
Ok - I've made a semi-effort today. But have still had one choccy bar, 2 glasses of red and 2 ginger nuts. I NEED treats....!

LaVitaBellissima · 10/08/2011 22:54

So I'm joining fat club Sad Grin Sad

Let's start with my holiday, 3x homemade doughnuts for breakfast, DP calls them "Graffi" though, so I could pretend I didn't know what they were Hmm & huge antipasti buffet 3 xplates each of then a pasta course, main course, then dessert Blush each night plus afternoon gelati samples, oops

Then once home being housebound for 9 days due to the bloody Rubella, I am lucky that I've only put on 4lb but I'd love to slim down and be more toned, but realise that to really do this I need to exercise and I don't have the energy other option is to stop drinking, but that would be a travesty!

I also know how to lose weight but am not sure I have the willpower Hmm

Buggery

Glad for the moral support MM and Lavita... I am seriously flagging in this latest attempt to shift the last stone. Think if I had had a holiday to focus on this summer it might have inspired me to get bikini ready (!) but since we are stuck in rainy Newcastle I am able to lurk about in jeans with all offending areas well covered .
Lottie you've kept that v quiet - hope you are on some level being looked after a bit you poor wounded soldier. Is it too much to hope that your convalescence is having a helpful effect on the appetite?!

Was 10st12 this morning.
Lost: 4lb

Breakfast: Cheese omelette
Lunch: Croque monsieur & salad (at friend's house...delicious)
Dinner: to be confirmed. We have sausages. We have coleslaw. We have not much else. Sausages and coleslaw??? Doesn't exactly get the tastebuds tingling does it... Really need to plan shopping better!

How tall are you Tarti? by the way I have never eaten a Tartiflette but I googled it and it looks very yummy & calorific, is it a favourite?

LL Poor you, hope you are feeling ok, sounds painful, how did you get the plate in the first place?

I have eaten roast duck today and a rolo ice cream, not sure either of those items appear on any diet apart from how to gain weight Hmm

Also DP's birthday on Saturday and I need to make him a cake. Please don't kick me off the thread.

Some good choices though baked salmon, new potatoes last night although followed with wine and m&m's. I've also started eating Muller lights and adding flaked Almonds as a snack instead of chocolate.

tartiflette · 11/08/2011 18:57

Mmmmmm duck!

Lavita I am only 5ft5 so even another stone off is not going to leave me particularly thin by normal standards... but would be happy with that, I reckon I'd be a 10 in most shops which would be nice.
Yes I loooove tartiflette although I chose it as a name more because of the fact it is Swiss (Dad's family were Swiss), francophone (am French teacher), involves cheese (need I say more) and is a funny sort of word... Yum though!

Urgh am hungry.

Diet pretty shite although have had a rare AFD (alcohol free day) today. I also went for a run this morning - ooh my thighs....

lol at AFD.

Oh Lottie. Forget about losing anything for a couple of weeks then and just try and keep a lid on it so you don't undo all the good work... NO eating girls' leftovers (not worth it) but allowed booze and the odd treat to get you through? Alternatively be strict with yourself if you think it will make you feel better/more in control.
Try not to stress about them starting nursery. Once you've got the first day out the way it will feel like a Good Thing. Wish I had some words of comfort about deciding wtf to do about your DH's job/moving. We can't even decide on doing up the kitchen. Sad

MonkeyMargot · 12/08/2011 21:18

Jeez LL you have some big, big decisions to make. so hard. Focus on getting better for now and use wine to ease the pain. It is fat free you know!!
tarti is so right re. nursery, you (and the girls) will soon get used to it and love it.

tartiflette · 17/08/2011 22:35

Hmmm well this is going well.....

Hi Ladies, I'm a newbie to mn and am reading through your thread while munching on a packet of crisps and cheese n ham sarnie. Despite all my good intentions, the will power to lose those final pounds is disappearing fast and I am reluctantly becoming a little too comfortable with my 'new' body shape!
I am feeling inspired by you all! Would you mind if I joined the thread? I have b/g 11 month old twins and am back working full time at a desk so munching and sitting on my backside isnt a good receipe for weight loss!

tartiflette · 18/08/2011 18:44

Hi LittlePickles! I desperately need a kick up the arse so the more the merrier on here Smile

Welcome littlepickles Smile

LittlePickles23 · 19/08/2011 22:36

Hi again, well, today has been a better day and I was very well behaved (although dh's idea of a curry put a spanner - albeit a rather delicious spanner - in the works tonight).

Tarti -I know what you mean about having a holiday to motivate you. We're off to Cyprus on Sunday and so far I've managed to shift 12lbs but still got another stone to go. The incentive of wearing a bikini/cossie really does work wonders! Having said that, I'm still not confident about having my legs adn belly on show, but i've got a feeling its going to be too hot to cover up too much.

LL - how are the girls getting on at nursery? I remember leaving I&I was really hard at first. it does get easier though.

Are any of you managing to fit in time for exercise? LVB - its the lack of energy (and time!) that gets me too!

tartiflette · 20/08/2011 17:41

Am doing zero exercise LittlePickles. I am just not an exercise person although I did used to force myself to the gym twice a week before I had the girls... I can't say it made the hugest difference to my weight though to be honest - perhaps I felt a little bit fitter but not enough to warrant the fuss it would be to organise now!
V jealous of your holiday...

OP posts:
LittlePickles23 · 06/09/2011 20:33

Hi there, well we survived the holiday to Cyprus and I managed not to over indulge in too many holiday treats - although my usual weaknesses of wine, chocolate and crisps played quite a central role!
Tarti - i am trying to motivate myself to get back to the pool for a swim, but my wee boy had a bad night last night so feeling shattered was my excuse this time! I wonder what it will be tomorrow ;) oh well, at least we had great fun on holiday :)
How's everyone else getting on?
