Ok I realise this should really be in Big/slim etc but I prefer it over here!

When I moan about my hugeness, friends say 'but you've had (pause) two babies' - my twins are nearly 8 months old so can really no longer be used as an excuse for the fact I'm at least two stone overweight.

PLEASE join me if any of you twin/more mums have flab to lose this year... I could do with the moral support. Anyone up for it?
I'm planning to do lowish-carb, kind of like SW red days I think. Could probably do with a clearer plan really.

hello all!

Diet coke - a hard habit to kick. I worry more about the damage it does to your teeth.

Smokey, a pound will soon come off. Now put the biscuits away...well done for your workout though!

Been naughty already today. Friend came round with homemade cupcakes. Bad. And quiche for lunch too.
But am getting better at eating a bit less I think which is half the battle.

Lol at 'clean'!

Right I've bought cosmo with free (rubbish small print) edition of I and N. Picture me in the queue in Sainsbo's trying to squidge up the position of the book within the cellophane to discretely cover up the cover emblazoned with 'SPICE UP YOUR SEX TALK' or something equally shame-inducing.

smokey you're putting us all to shame with this running lark. I just cannot be arsed.

I don't know, I skimmed the magazine in the car park and binned it before I got home to avoid the judgement of Pils who are staying at the mo (AGAIN).

Oh dear, cake. How I miss you.

I would read the book if twin two would stop roaring.

Well done LL. I'm sure eating dinner early makes a huge difference.

re. your and tartis earlier comments about the difficulty in keeping weight off long term, it's really fascinating that you can't visualise yourself as being slim, and when you were slim, you felt self-conscious around men. Maybe weight is a barrier in a way to showing our true selves? I certainly used to feel the same way, but somehow once I got properly slim (i.e.not just slim enough to satisfy BMI charts and my mother), and fit too - exercise was a key part of it, I realised I never wanted to be a fattie again.

Yet here I am...!

tartiflette · 28/01/2011 18:13

I don't think it counts if you've recently given birth to a litter MM Wink

oh dear LL. Sorry you've been arguing. Still, good job on getting skinny!

tartiflette · 30/01/2011 19:23

Weigh day for me today. No loss this week.

Feel really deflated - have been so strict (apart from noodlegate, one diet coke and milk in coffees - could this have scuppered it?). Also have spent soooo much money and effort creating weird and wonderful proteiny meals. I could have lost more doing slimming world and saved a lot of bother.

Current: 173 lb
Target: 147 lb
Loss so far: 3lb

Worth it for sushi and champagne lottie, I'd say. And sounds like you needed it Smile. Hope you're okay... xx

That's a fair point about overeating nice recipe type food. Think I've maybe got a bit carried away with the whole you're allowed to eat fat thing also. Need to regroup and refocus this week!

Think I will write down everything I eat this week so I can see where I'm going wrong. Haven't made anything from the IPD book yet. Actually that's a lie, I made celeriac gratin which was nice. But FULL of cream so you have a point lottie, although it's allowed on the diet so it oughtn't to ruin everything surely.
To be fair my clothes feel looser so I have a small glimmer of hope that there might be some loss in the next few days.

Hope everyone else is doing better!

yo ladies.

LL hope you are OK. It's tough enough being married fullstop let alone having twins. I have moments of white anger where I would love to literally throttle DH. This happened tonight whilst orchestrating teatime for the 3 bambinos (always very messy and chaotic at best) whilst DH is reclining on the sofa fiddling about on his iphone. Then he criticised me for something he had no warrant to do.
It DOES MY HEAD IN.

Have been a bit lackadaisical to say the least these past few days on the diet front. Weigh day is tomorrow but some interim weigh-ins indicate no loss this week.

tartiflette · 30/01/2011 21:10

Yes I've had a few moments recently where my hand has lingered a little too long on the handle of the breadknife while the red mist descends.
Hopefully this will all blow over (for all of us!) otherwise it is going to be a very LONG life Grin

Seems like we're all argumentative at the moment, as I could cheerfully have throttled not so 'D' H this morning, for undermining me yet again by cuddling DTD out of a tantrum, rather than ignoring her till she got over it.

Well I finally lost a pound! Had lost 2 on Saturday morning, but then we were away visiting my family (this week would have been my DSis's birthday but she sadly died last year), where we all ate far too much, hugged lots and laughed over old family photos, so really I'm quite chuffed I managed to lose anything!

Current Weight: 153lbs
Target: 140lbs
Total loss: 1lb

tartiflette · 31/01/2011 13:00

Well done Ophelia, especially after a significant family weekend like that - impressive not to have gained, never mind lost a pound! It sounds like a lovely way to have marked the occasion for your sister.

One of my many many bugbears with (D)H at the moment is just that - him ignoring/undermining what I am trying to get sorted (usually sleep) and taking the path of least resistance. Grrr. Anyway I am sick of myself droning on about him so that is the last you will hear of me moaning - promise!

My scales showed 2lb off this morning but I am ignoring them after their disgraceful performance yesterday and will just weigh next Sunday.
