Hello, I am just looking for any advice (preferably from NHS experience) as I know no one who has gone through this to ask.

I am 9 1/2 weeks pregnant, had a private scan yesterday which confirmed heart stopped at 6+4. I had a gut feeling (hence the scan) I can’t explain why as I still have all my symptoms.

I rang my local unit and went today for a scan who again confirmed the same as the private scan but are making us go back in 14 days for a re scan before I can have any medical management.

it just feels cruel and I have so many worries.
Will it happen naturally when it stopped so long ago?
can I end up with an infection with it just left there?
Will the NHS offer surgical management over tablets?

I just feel tortured

thank you to anyone who has read this!

Hello everyone! Original poster here. I lost my log in for mumsnet and have just made a new one so searched this thread to see any updates!

My little girl following my MMC is now 7 months old in a couple of days.

Hi all,
update from me. After MMC back in March 2025 I’m happy to announce that my little boy arrived safely by elective csection due to prev csection and being breech early January weighing a whopping 9lb 15oz.

still trying to tackle nights and recovering from surgery but both doing well.

I'm now nearly 32 weeks pregnant after a MMC in Jul 24 and a TFMR in Jul 23. Hoping to meet my rainbow baby in April <3

My little girl was born Jan 15th, on her due date! I still can’t quite believe she’s mine. My surgery for my second MMC was Jan 20th last year.

I can’t believe how quickly time is going already and she’s only a month old! Feeling very lucky and blessed even through the sleep deprivation 😅

SureLook · 15/02/2026 19:41

@Confusedmermaid1 that's amazing. Congratulations!

Hi all. I just wanted to share a happy update with this thread. After an MMC in January 2025 and a blighted ovum in June 2025 we finally had our baby girl on the 24th of April. She's perfect and we're over the moon. So for anyone reading this thread going through the same thing, there is light at at end of the tunnel ✨️ 💕

Some good news here too. After a TFMR, a MMC and several chemical pregnancies my baby boy is here, and is 6 weeks old now. I hope this brings hope to anyone who has had an MMC x

InvisibleDragon · 24/05/2026 21:43

Congratulations @TruthUnwinding ! Did you do anything differently for your successful pregnancy?

Congratulations @TruthUnwinding ! Did you do anything differently for your successful pregnancy?

Yes loads of different things. Letrozole for ovulation, progesterone pessaries for the two week wait and until 20 weeks of pregnancy, low dose aspirin throughout pregnancy, vitamins and supplements, exercise (running, yoga, swimming mostly), filtered my water, used more glass instead of plastic, got rid of non stick pans (forever chemicals), fertility acupuncture. I was under an NHS fertility clinic, had consultation with The Fertility Suite in Oxted and also did a 'TTC after loss' with the Worst Girl Gang Ever. Took time off to reset and relax. I feel like I did as much as I could do, and I'm now sat writing this with a baby on my lap! I couldn't say exactly what worked but I think the letrozole medicine and progesterone pessaries had a lot to do with it.

Another positive update to add to the thread. After a MMC and D&C in June 2025 I am now waiting to meet baby in the next couple of weeks (EDD 15th June). Keeping fingers crossed all will go well!
Big congratulations @SureLook and @TruthUnwinding . I found the hopeful updates lovely to read. I hope someone else going through a tough time can get a bit of hope from this thread!
