Ok lady's lets not be shy...You've done the hard part... giving birth and you were not shy then I bet. You know who you are and you know you want to meet up... so why not add your name to this and tell me where about you are, so we can arrange a meet up.

InvisiblePinkUnicorn - of course you can! - especially as we wouldn't even know, as we've not all met each other! And Kitty17 is also bringing along another mum.

Sackache - good to see you might be coming along! I'll not mention it to ds though - it can be a nice surprise for him.

New list:

Kitty17 + ds (1) + (1&1(dd(2))
Prettybird + ds (6)
Jennylee + ds (7)
Gomez + ds (6.5months) + ?dd1 (7) & ?dd2 (2.11)
Purplemonkeydishwasher + ds (18months) - maybe - but probably not
agalch + dd1(2.5) & dd2 (8months)
InvisiblePinkUnicorn + dd1 (2.11) and dd2 (1) - maybe
Lilliput + dd(4)& ds(2) - maybe
Aimsmum and dd (6) - Maybe/Probably
Babynovice + dd (2.7)
Soph28 + ds (2) & dd (8mo) (but doesn't count towrds potential numbers for a group discount as she is already a member)
sweetkitty & DD1 (2.7) - maybe
Sackache + ?ds5 ?dd2 (not sure if the kids would be coming)

kitty17 · 04/04/2007 10:56

PB sorry to hear about your mum - must be a worry for you. I hope she is improving as time passes.

We are still on - still not sure which children I will bring TBH, depends on how they are behaving nearer the time.

Anyone else from Livinston getting there by public transport? If so could I tag along with you so I dont get lost??

prettybird · 04/04/2007 22:02

Of course it is Pink Mist! Look forward to meeting you.

Gomez - although Mum is imporving slightly (if you look back over the the three weeks since she got back) - the NHS is not covering istelf with glory. Dad has asked three times for someone to take a medical history and no-one yet has - despite the complaint he already has in the system about the inadequacy of the care for her head injury (ie non existent) - and having been an accident waiting to happen, she finally had one, getting out of bed (as she didn't understand not to) and falling, damaging her jaw and now needing to be on a soft food diet for 6 weeks. At least she now has the 24 hour nursing she needs - but still no news as to when she will get to the place where she can get rehab - could be up to 6 months (so in the mean time, she will not only block a general surgery bed, but also cost the ward extra money, as they have to have an extra nurse/auxilliary to watch her).

(Sorry for hijack!)

InvisiblePinkUnicorn · 05/04/2007 10:13

i just realised the 28th is a saturday! so I have one more question... could this be a family event? it would be great if my husband could go since it would be difficult for me alone to take 2 buses with my girls. we are new to edinburgh, it was on our plans to go to the zoo soon anyway.

BexieID · 05/04/2007 13:51

Bummer, I work Saturdays!

kitty17 · 05/04/2007 16:16

InvisiblePinkUnicorn - Im ok with your DH being there, does eveyone else agree.
Hope he does not mind all the other women....

Pinkmist - Im Livingston, but will be driving there, do you have a car seat for your DS then i can take you along with me,
I dont have a spare one....

OP posts:
InvisiblePinkUnicorn · 05/04/2007 21:17

I am thinking it would be me, DH, DD1, DD2, a friend and her DH and we wouldn't stay together for the picnic. My DH is just coming back home after spending more than 2 months abroad, it wouldn't be nice of me to go out without him, specially to a place which he wants to go since we moved here 6 months ago. If anyone is bothered by this arrangement please let me know.

Pinkmist · 06/04/2007 10:45

kitty17 that would be fantastic
Just need to remember and take it out of dp's car before he goes to work! Your a star! x

prettybird · 07/04/2007 16:49

I don't see a problem with your dh being there (or your firend's dh). Twiga's dh came to the meet-up at the Royal Museum last year. Mumsnet isn't just mums anyway - there are a few dads on here too (including, every so often, my own dh).

If the converstation gets too embarassing, they can always wander off with the kids for a wee while!

soph28 · 07/04/2007 16:56

I'm ok with dh's being there. Don't think mine would want to with all those mums around though

prettybird · 07/04/2007 18:23

That's great Mellowma!

gomez · 09/04/2007 22:18

Hijack alert...

prettybird · 10/04/2007 13:38

Gomez- no, Dad retired over 10 years ago, and his contacts are no longer relevant/working/alive!

... but he is having "fun" making his complaints and trying to get things improved not just for mum but also for other people with head injuries, for whom there are not adequate (any ) appropriate rehabilitation resources.

kitty17 · 10/04/2007 13:46

pinkmist.... Fab, what area are you in in Livi.... Im in Murieston.

gomez · 16/04/2007 20:56

Still in my diary - haven't dared mention it to the girls yet in case it whitters away in the style that only the Scottish Mumsnetters seem to manage .

Pinkmist · 17/04/2007 10:06

Sorry internets been down, I'm in Craigswood kitty17. Right across from the sports center.

prettybird · 17/04/2007 10:28

I'm the same gomez. I've told dh though - sometimes I forget until just before the evetn!

There is a slight possibility that ds will go with his dad to see Queens Park play against Dumbarton in Dumbarton, last game of the season. But as I think they are going to be in the play-offs, so I think Edinburgh Zoo will win out!

I'm still going to come though, even if ds doesn't!

gomez · 19/04/2007 09:29

PB your message struck a cord with me and I have now told DH about my plans for the day . He might actually trip along to the Zoo too - but would wander of with the two girls. Maybe turf up occasionally to have the odd sandwich thrown at him . We can play it by ear really.

nailpolish · 19/04/2007 09:31

hey ladies

im moving to Ed end of May

gomez · 19/04/2007 09:54

Oh NP I am now too jealous for words . Having left Edinburgh 4 years ago I am currently plotting a move back! Have you lived in Edinburgh before?
