Probably a crap name for us but nevermind. LittleMissPickles, will you be joining us at the Sea Lane cafe on Thursday morning? Anybody else in the area reading this, please feel free to come along to our inaugural meeting. Anyone committing themselves on this board before then, should we all agree that if something comes up last minute - could we attempt to login and let others know? I'll have a quick check before I leave. Erm - I guess the baby - 6mths old chubba-chops boy with blonde hair - might give me away. Otherwise I'm 5.7 with short dark hair & quite slim.

Hi i live near worthing, where is the sea lane cafe though?

Lamby71 · 22/01/2007 22:56

Here's a link to the Sea Lane Cafe on streetmap. It's right on the seafront. There's a website too somewhere but I can't find it and gotta go to bed!

Well done you for starting our own post-does that make you the oldest? & look, we've already got a new friend!!!!!
Looking forward to it now-does that sound a bit desperate again?! Snap with the babies-I'll also be the 1 with the 6month old, wispy blond haired little man, who could be shouting very loudly (a new trick he's just learned!) Think the only thing that will come up is absolutely miserable weather or babies!!! But yes, def check before I leave. But as I'm only a five minute walk I can check up til last minute.
Did we say 11am? Marvellous, best time for a latte & a big cake! x

Tortington · 22/01/2007 23:55

sea lane cafe is on goring sea front. go towards goring along the front until you hit the stupid stupid - did i say stupid nonsensicle roundabout with two - yes thats two exits you then get to a mini roundabout - turn left follow the road for about half a mile you will see a car park and an approaching roundabout - hey presto.

sorry that i will be missing you - working you see - however i dont like other peoples kids so probably for the best - theres only so much "what age did she dribble more than 1.6 cm" i can stand!

still.....its eerie to think your out there.

have a wonderful time

totallyfloaty35 · 23/01/2007 08:49

littlemisspickles · 23/01/2007 17:37

Hi
Yes I am definately up for Thursday morning, and I will be easily identified by my screaming daughter, or if she is by some miracle asleep I am 5.5 with dark hair and I am surely the oldest - you can tell as I chose not to associate my nickname with my age at all!
As my daughter is only 7 weeks old I will also be the person looking as if I haven't got a clue what I am doing.
I too am looking forward to it. (smile)

Lamby71 · 24/01/2007 14:23

Cool. See you all at 11 tomorrow. I think it's going to snow again but by the time the rush hour has churned up the roads, should be OK. Look forward to meeting everyone.

Vicky75 · 24/01/2007 18:43

Yippee for snow again tomorrow-I love it! It was lovely on Goring Greens today-lasted til way past lunch so we'll have to have a warming hot chocolate & big cake to keep us going-do I sound obsessed by cake?!!!
Looking forward to it-see you at 11 x

totallyfloaty35 · 25/01/2007 10:12

wont be able to make it ladies, very sorry and very disappointed[sad[,but woke up with streaming nose and sore throat and i dont want to share it with you.
Can i come to the next one though?is it going to be a weekly thing?

Lamby71 · 26/01/2007 10:20

Sorry you couldn't make it TotallyFloaty. Myself, Vicky75 and LittleMissPickles met up for a coffee and slice of cake. It was really nice to meet them. Think we're normal/nice people! We are going to try and get together regularly but I'm away next week so will leave it to the other 2 to organise something if they're so inclined. Otherwise, hope to see you in 2 weeks perhaps?

OP posts:
Vicky75 · 26/01/2007 22:17

Hello, was lovely to meet you both yesterday-sorry you were poorly Totallyfloaty, hope you feel better soon.
We had a fab little meet-up, all babies were gorgeous, happy & quiet! Well maybe I'm lying, mine did squeak a bit!
We said about meeting 2 weeks Thursday, so think that makes it 8th? Lovely if we can all do it, & all new faces welcome too x

littlemisspickles · 29/01/2007 10:23

Hi girls
It was great to meet the 2 of you last Thursday and 8th Feb sounds good for me. Hope you can join us Floaty. R might even wake up then, as I am working on the theory that she CAN be awake and not crying! And not just when she has a teat in her mouth!

Hope everyone had a good weekend,- off to put the theory to the test now![wink!]

totallyfloaty35 · 29/01/2007 16:30

So glad you had a good time and looking forward to joining you next time

Vicky75 · 31/01/2007 17:37

We all seem to have gone pretty quiet on the chatting front! Hope everybody is ok & babies are doing well.
Got a check up with Health Visitor tomorrow to see how my little fatty is doing weight wise-think I might be shocked, but then he is on 3 big meals a day!
Are we still on for next thursday?

littlemisspickles · 31/01/2007 21:35

Apologies for lack of communication, have had a few colicky days this week, it can get really upsetting. We have tried most remedies known to man. Often the only thing that works is walking her up and down stairs, great for the thighs but not the stair carpet!
Hope all goes well at the HV tomorrow, we are going to a mother and baby group at the health centre, may find some new recruits!!
DD has her jabs Friday, not looking forward to that!
Got to go, little lady is really going through it tonight. Luckily dh is here to help out.

littlemisspickles · 02/02/2007 15:29

Hi
I went along to my Mum and Baby Group yesterday, and it was really good. It runs for 12 weeks and we get talks on lots of subjects.
BUT........it is every Thursday a.m. so clashes with our planned meet for next week therefore I am torn.
I realise it is a bit short notice for next week, but if we could change the day in the future that would be really great cos then I get to do both things (me me me!) I am sorry if this is a bit cheeky, kind of like buses - nothing for weeks then lots of Mums come along at once!
Hope everyone has a good weekend.

Vicky75 · 02/02/2007 19:47

Hiya, hope the injections were ok today.
No worries for next thurs, maybe we could do it later on thursday afternoon? Haven't heard from Lamby71 for a while, hope you're ok?
Got a few days to organise something so maybe if TotallyFloaty can come too we can sort something out for all 4 of us?

Lamby71 · 04/02/2007 20:31

Hello. I'm here. Back from driving all over the country - well, Cornwall and Bognor Regis really. I can do Thurs pm this week (usually it clashes with my NCT group but we're meeting Wed this week). Nice that someone else - Vicky - describes her baby as fatty. My Joe is seriously chubby and he's not even on 3 meals a day yet. Bad parenting obviously!! Or maybe he just gets his appetite from his dad ... . He does go a bit mental without a nap in the afternoon though, so if we did meet Thurs it would prob. have to be 3pm onwards so he could squeeze in an hour's kip beforehand. LMP - I sympathise with the colic. Everyone I know with small babies suffers from some degree (Joe did) but it only seems to really get better as they get a bit older. Joe seemed to get over it at about 4mths.

totallyfloaty35 · 05/02/2007 10:30

hi everyone,Thurs is usually fine for me,but this thurs i have to pick up my othr DD from school at 3pm,so i can meet earlier, noon? or what about doing it fri?

Vicky75 · 05/02/2007 18:23

Hello. Bit confused by all the times that people can or can't do for thursday!
I'm free all day so maybe if we all write what times we can do then take it from there?!!!
Hope all mummies & babies are doing well
x

totallyfloaty35 · 05/02/2007 19:18

thurs is fine for me,but i will have to leave by 2pm

littlemisspickles · 05/02/2007 22:40

Sorry - and this is my fault really!
I am at Mum and Baby from 10.30 - 12, then I have my sister-in-law visiting about 4.30pm, so I could be really ambitious and say in between those times, but as it was me that put a spanner in the works then don't work around me. Especially if Robyn has one of her colic days then I never dare leave the house!! Tried a trip to Tesco today and ended up walking around the block instead, standing out on Columbia Drive with her out of the buggy screaming with me walking up and down the pavement! Still, it meant I got to see Neighbours, even if I didn't have anything to eat for lunch. Better prepared for tomorrow as went for supplies when DH got home tonight!
Anyway - thats what I can do Thursday, I honestly won't be offended if you go for the mornings if that suits better, maybe another day next time?!
Someone needs feeding - gotta go!

Lamby71 · 06/02/2007 20:06

Oh blimey. Well I was going to say that I have to do a lifesaving (don't ask) exam at short notice on Friday and am worried I need Joe's sleep time (2-3ish) on Thursday to revise so would want to be home for that. How very glamorous - not. So if you really can't do it LMP, then maybe the rest of us could meet in the morning, about 11ish again. Or you guys could do Friday without me (I wouldn't be offended). Thereafter p'raps we'd better find another 'regular' day as LMP can't do Thurs mornings and I can't usually do Thurs afternoons! Lordy, my head hurts ... .

OP posts:
totallyfloaty35 · 06/02/2007 20:37

i can do 11 on thurs

chez33 · 07/02/2007 09:53

Hi girls

Can I join you? I live in Brighton but am moving to Worthing in 3 weeks. I don't have any Mum friends in Worthing and it would be nice to meet some. I have an 8mth old son named Josh who is keeping me very busy at the moment as he's crawling!
not sure what the protocol is on here as I've just joined but if someone can let me know that'd be great!
