Probably a crap name for us but nevermind. LittleMissPickles, will you be joining us at the Sea Lane cafe on Thursday morning? Anybody else in the area reading this, please feel free to come along to our inaugural meeting. Anyone committing themselves on this board before then, should we all agree that if something comes up last minute - could we attempt to login and let others know? I'll have a quick check before I leave. Erm - I guess the baby - 6mths old chubba-chops boy with blonde hair - might give me away. Otherwise I'm 5.7 with short dark hair & quite slim.

Hello everyone, been off radar recently with my very active DS! Hard to find time to do anything as he constantly hangs off my legs! But hope you're all ok.
We're doing well, DS is thriving (very active) & in to everything. He's desperate to walk as crawling isn't enough anymore & we have great fun in raising everything out of reach of little hands, but even then he'll give it a good try to get at it!
He is now the proud owner of 2 teeth so weaning has moved on to big lumps & chewy stuff. LMP, any help you need I'm happy to help.
Can't believe I go back to work in under 2 months but until then me & my sidekick can be found walking along Worthing seafront, either in to town or to the cafe for a cup of tea & spotting birdies & doggies (DS new game!), so if anyone wants to get together...?
Eightball, as LMP says, use Checkatrade. We've used them for a couple of people & they're recommended by our neighbourhood watch. Hope that helps.

Hi, glad you had a good holiday, I too have started the weaning process, just couldn't hold DD off any longer, felt pangs of guilt everytime I ate something, the look from DD was as if she was saying 'where's mine?' so baby rice is on the menu for her at least!!!
She's taken to it fairly well, the HV did say to try it at a time of day when you are most relaxed and have time to devote to the whole process, I find late afternoon when I watch my soaps is a good time, it doesn't have to be lunchtime or breakfast.
I thought I'd have probs just so far so good, patience and lots of praise seems to work... especially when she smiles mid spoonful you can shovle it in!!! lol

Eightball - a relative of mine is a builder, hes local to worthing and sure he'd be happy to quote if your interested???? What do you need doing exactly?

Let me know whens good for a walk, happy to escape my mad house at the moment, decorators still in and I know have my entire garden ripped up, everythings scattered about the house and theirs stuff everywhere, turmoil doesn't come close to the state were in!!!!

Tortington · 21/05/2007 17:18

i want to meet you. please come to brighton meet up and get pissed sans children.

i only live up road from sea lane caff seems such a shame.

eightball · 21/05/2007 17:58

Hi Snuffle, I've got a survey for the flat I'm trying to buy and need to get a quote for some of the things that they say may need looking at: Giving the outside walls an overhaul and checking the joinery/windows. I think there could be a problem with some decaying timber.
So far we have had no response from anyone so if your relative could help that would be great!

totallyfloaty35 · 21/05/2007 20:25

whens the next meet up in brighton custardo?
Hi all,not been on for ages,we been doing baby led weaning, makes a huge mess but baby adores it

snuffle · 22/05/2007 14:07

Eightball.... drop me an email [email protected] and I'll give you his details.

Weathers turned.... lets get a meet up in sooner rather then later, can't do thursday or friday pm but free rest of this week or next so far!

littlemisspickles · 23/05/2007 20:06

HI
Thanks everyone for the weaning tips! I am pleased to announce we had banana today - Mum and baby feeling much better about the whole thing now!

I can meet Thurs pm next week or all day Friday, if that's any good for anyone. Not sure what the forcast is - but maybe a walk on the prom finished with a cake or vice versa?

Vicky - can't believe you are back to work so soon - I bet the time is really racing by now, life certainly seems exciting for you both at the mo. DD is sitting quite well now, which is good, and loves being held to stand and walk.

Snuffle hope the renovations are going well - we still have some DIY to finish and the inlaws arrive from Cyprus on June 7th so we really want to get it finished before then.

Hope we can get together soon.

chez33 · 23/05/2007 21:35

Hi Guys

Don't know if you remember me? I never managed to meet up as we moved house and a lot has happened, decorating etc. Plus, we've only just, after 3 months, got the wireless working!
Now we're finally in Worthing we'd love to meet up as I can't keep going to Brighton to see friends all the time.
When's the next meet up planned? Think the weather's on the turn soon.
We have the in-laws over from Cape Town for 3 weeks next weekend so will have to be next week then I'll be tied up entertaining them for a while! (groan)
Glad to hear you're all well.

Vicky75 · 24/05/2007 09:42

Hi again, taking advantage of DS asleep to post this!
We can only do wednesday next week as ot quite a busy week (very unusual for us!) so don't know how that suits for everyone?
Will keep an eye on messages over the weekend to see if any plans or made. If not sorry we can't meet up & try to do something soon (it'll have to be, July & the dreaded return to work is looming soon!)

snuffle · 24/05/2007 17:08

Hi
Thursday good for me.....
Hope weather stays nice, its meant to change this weekend but the weather people have got it wrong before!

littlemisspickles · 27/05/2007 10:13

Hi
Sorry Vicky I am tied up all day Weds, but Snuffle, can do Thursday pm if you fancy that?

Maybe we should pick a date for a few weeks time and all commit to it so we can all met up on the same day, esp with Vicky ging back to work.

Hope everyone is enjoying the bank holiday weather.............

I am taking DD, and my 2 Godchildren to Drusillas tomorrow, wish me luck!!

snuffle · 27/05/2007 17:08

LMP - Hope the weather stays nice for your day out... you are a brave lady taking 3 children, ok so DD won't be to much of a problem but even so!

Thursday pm good for me... will the weather change or will it be a wet one again! lol

Usual time & place??? Hopefully won't have the four legged friend this time to make me late!

See you thursday... and anyone else who can make it....

littlemisspickles · 29/05/2007 20:17

Hi
Yesterday good, despite the weather, we all survived and that's the main thing!

So, Thursday 2pm at the end of the prom!

See you then.......

snuffle · 30/05/2007 18:31

Cool.... pray the weathers nice!

Vicky75 · 30/05/2007 18:56

Have a lovely time tomorrow, but I have a feeling the weather is going to be a bit wet so hope you've got your wellies & raincovers!
Let me know when the next meet is-next week is looking ok for days, except tues x

snuffle · 18/06/2007 15:07

Hi everyone.... its very quite on here, anyone out there???

littlemisspickles · 18/06/2007 22:01

Hi - yes am still out here - JUST!

Been busy with (too many) classes/groups - trying them all out before I decide what she enjoys and what we can afford!

Also, making slow progress with the feeding, but at least after 4 weeks of trying she is finally willing to give it a go.

BUT now her sleeping is rubbish!, so I am permanently tired at the mo.......

Hope you enjoyed your holiday, outlaws have been and gone so I am up for a pm stroll next week if any day suits, not Weds but otherwise I think I am free.

totallyfloaty35 · 19/06/2007 10:39

hi all, nice to see some life on the thread.
Been madly busy as getting ready to move to worthing!
my lo has got terrible on the sleeping front too.Seems to be since she started solids, although she eats anything and everything, she now wakes every night at 1-3am,have got to the stage where i put the pillow over my head and pretend i cant hear her even though its like someone drilling into my brain when she screams

snuffle · 19/06/2007 18:20

Oh dear, wont say anything about my little one then, shes taken to weaning and is still sleeping through the night although she is moving into her own room this week as we are back from our hols... had a good time thanks, weather lovely although a little showery towards the end of the week it didnt hamper the enjoyment.... so will have to see if she settles in ok.

Up for a walk next week, name a day and will check diary, think its fairly clear at the moment.

Taking DD swimming tomorrow at the Aquarena if anyone fancies joining us....??? 10.30-12 £3.50 not been before but a friend has recommended it so thought I'd try it out.

Keep at the feeding, I'm sure my DD has 'read the book' as she appears to be a textbook baby but am waiting for something to go wrong. I still have hit and miss days depending on her mood, some feeds she'll take a pot full quite happily other days I fight with a clenched mouth and only manage a few spoonfuls, milk is still the no.1 favourite!
Your DD will get there, they are all unique in their own ways and they all take different times to achieve things so don't take it to heart, patience and perseverance, it will pay off.

Let me know what day you want to catch up.

Vicky75 · 19/06/2007 18:26

Don't worry-the waking up/bad sleep thing is normal, this too will pass!
Word of warning about Aquarena-it is absolutely freezing. I took my DS there & never again-he spent the entire time shivering & he goes swimming quite a lot. Littlehampton's better if you can get over there. Sorry if I'm coming on a bit strong but it's always nice for their 1st swimming experience to be a warm 1!
Would be nice to meet up before July comes round! Will keep looking for days suggested but any day next week is good for me at mo.

moulimoo · 19/06/2007 18:35

Hi can I join in...... I live near Worthing, have DD4.5 and twins 21months. BTW agree about aquarena, its a bit chilly at times. We prefer littlehampton pool.
anyway, don't want to crash in on your thread, but just thought I'd say hello!

snuffle · 19/06/2007 18:49

Thanks for the info re aquarena pool but littlehampton too far for us as we are in lancing, will take our chances tomorrow, if she's too cold then we'll just leave early.

See some of you soon i hope.

snuffle · 20/06/2007 20:47

Well the swim went reall well, the pool was a comfortable 30 and DD enjoyed splashing about chasing the balls.
Was given some good advice from the instructors and we may well be starting Aquababy in spetember!
So, whens the meet??? Can't make wednesday, other then that I'm free!

littlemisspickles · 22/06/2007 22:17

Hi

Glad the swim went well snuffle - we have taken DD to Littlehampton a few times and are going to sign her up for 'lessons' in the autumn probably.

I can also meet any afternoon next week except Weds, but busy each morning. Would be good to meet up with anyone who is free.

Welcome Moulimoo - certainly join our thread - having older child and twins must surely make you our resident expert!!

Lets hope some of us can meet next week.......

snuffle · 23/06/2007 11:11

Hi, Friday afternoon any good??? weather permitting???
