Probably a crap name for us but nevermind. LittleMissPickles, will you be joining us at the Sea Lane cafe on Thursday morning? Anybody else in the area reading this, please feel free to come along to our inaugural meeting. Anyone committing themselves on this board before then, should we all agree that if something comes up last minute - could we attempt to login and let others know? I'll have a quick check before I leave. Erm - I guess the baby - 6mths old chubba-chops boy with blonde hair - might give me away. Otherwise I'm 5.7 with short dark hair & quite slim.

It's all so confusing organising mums & babies! Think you're right Lamby, we should def try a different day. I'm ok for tuesdays or fridays.
As for tomorrow, I'm really sorry but I'm going to have to miss out as I've got an absolutely streaming cold, cough, sore glands/body...you name it I feel it & I don't want any of you to catch it. It's bad enough that little monkey has had it but think he's coming out of the worst of it. But it's blooming awful!!! Luckily DH has taken a half day at work so I'm going to spend the rest of the day in bed-lovely!
But have a lovely time & keep me posted on what day you all decide to do in the future.
& welcome to all new mummies & babies tomorrow from my DS & me!!!

littlemisspickles · 07/02/2007 17:48

Hi
What have I done!
Sorry to hear you are feeling rough Vicky - probably wise to try and sleep it off, sounds horrible.
Welcome Chez33, nice to have you along too. Three of us have met once so far, then I decided to be awkward and as you can see we now can't organise a thing and it's all my fault!
In an attempt to fix this, maybe we could say what days of the week are best for us, and it seems 11am is the best time so stick with that then all we need is a day that everyone can do!! Vicky is ok for Tues/Fri, and I can do either of those though I have a course that runs for 4 weeks starting at the end of the month which will be Tuesdays, so I am happy to go with the majority vote.
Sorry to have been such a pain, I hope we can find a day that's good for everyone for next week.

totallyfloaty35 · 07/02/2007 18:07

So are we still meeting tomorrow then? i can make it but dont want to sit there on my lonesome

Lamby71 · 07/02/2007 20:08

I'll be there at 11am TotallyFloaty. Will check in first thing tomorrow so let me know if you can't make it by 10am if you could? Chez33, feel free to join us. See our descriptions further down the thread. I'll just look for the babies then shall I? Vicky - hope you feel better soon. My boyfriend's off work with flu today so am guessing it's only a matter of time before Joey and I get it.

Lamby are you worthing or shoreham based?

totallyfloaty35 · 07/02/2007 20:29

If there are no worthing mums going to be around tomorrow we could meet in shoreham, then Chez can meet us to without the extra drive?

Lamby71 · 07/02/2007 20:49

I was going to propose the same - I am shoreham based - but didn't want to confuse things. Do you think we should meet at Nia on the High St or something?

totallyfloaty35 · 07/02/2007 21:02

what about angel bar?

Lamby71 · 07/02/2007 21:03

Can we fit pushchairs inside? I've only sat outside. Happy to go there if so.

OP posts:
totallyfloaty35 · 07/02/2007 21:11

Lamby71 · 07/02/2007 21:14

Hi Girls

Hope you don't think I'm being cheeky but I live in Lancing and it would be great to meet up with other local mums.
I have a 6wk old little girl, first one, so would be nice to chat with those of you who have older babies for support and general story swapping.

Vicky75 · 08/02/2007 11:58

I'M SO JEALOUS! You're all meeting up with new faces & I'm sat at home feeling poorly & generally sorry for myself!!! Hope you're having a fab time.
& to make matters worse we had a look at 2 nurseries this morning for when I go back to work & I'm depressed that someone else will be looking after my little monkey for a couple of days a week & not me all the time ! Made even worse by a young boy at one of the nurseries screaming for his mummy!!!
Anyway, let me know how it went & when the next one is x

snuffle · 08/02/2007 13:09

Hi Vicky
I haven't met the girls yet, I left the thread this morning then realised that the time I wrote it they would all have been out, maybe next time???
Sorry to hear you are feeling under the weather and the thought if going back to work always makes the situation worse. I haven't got to think about that for sometime yet so am just enjoying being a mum for the time being.

Lamby71 · 08/02/2007 14:29

Hi TotallyFloaty. Lovely to meet you and your 2 friends + wee ones in Shoreham today. Look forward to meeting you again. Snuffle - of course you're welcome to join us in the future. Chez33 - sorry not to see you this time. Everybody - would Friday morning be a good day for a meet next week and ongoing (I can't do Friday afternoons)? We could alternate locations between Worthing and Shoreham/thereabouts perhaps, so everyone gets to go to a really local venue. It's really nice that more and more people are getting involved.

Vicky75 · 08/02/2007 14:48

Friday ams sound good to me-let me know what time & where for next week. Did LMP come? Hope you & DD are ok if you didn't.
Snuffle, you say you've got a while til you have to think about work but I go back in 5 & half months but with waiting lists etc for nurseries, you have to think about these things this early!!! That's what's so depressing-I've got all that time to go but I still have to think about work now! & the last 6 months have flown by so I'm sure the next 5 will too!
Glad Totally Floaty came-sounds like we're forming a lovely little posse!!!

chez33 · 08/02/2007 15:40

Sorry I couldn't make it. I went to a Mother and Baby group that I usually go to but that Josh is about to become to old for!
Friday mornings we do Sing & Sign but to be honest when we're in Worthing we may not keep going, or if we do it will just be until the end of the term. so you guys arrange it between you and then I can come along as and when!!
Hope those of you that are sick feel better soon.

littlemisspickles · 08/02/2007 16:24

Hi
Glad that some of you met up - actually the speaker for the Mum and Baby didn't show (rather like the snow!) but it was handy swapping stories with the other Mums.
Friday next week is good for me - and I think the idea of varying venues is a good one - if we get many more interested we may have to hire a hall!!
I know what you mean about the nursery thing - I am stressing about going out for the night in 2 weeks cos that's the first time DD will have been left without Mummy or Daddy!! and thats just the evening. I would be interested in your experiences for future reference, though I am still really undecided about what I am going to do.
Hope you're feeling better Vicky - and that you've managed to avoid it so far Lamby.

littlemisspickles · 08/02/2007 16:27

Just realised that it looks like I haven't decided what to do about going out, rather than actually I meant about going back to work!
PS snuffle, my DD is 9 weeks so I would love to exchange stories etc.

totallyfloaty35 · 08/02/2007 18:09

Lamby, was really nice meeting you,im looking forward to meeting everyone else too.Friday is good for me too.Hope all poorly people are feeling better now.

snuffle · 09/02/2007 12:21

Little Miss Pickles.... ours are so close in age, would be great to meet up and see how they are developing etc. Where abouts are you? I'm in Lancing but do drive.
My little one has turned 6 weeks old today and the time has flown by.
Fridays aren't good for me at the moment, I have to attend weigh clinic, but hopefully that won't be forever.
Do any of you fancy meeting up on another day, even just for a walk if the weather's nice???

littlemisspickles · 10/02/2007 16:08

snuffle -
I am in Durrington, though used to live in Lancing in my previous life (first marriage), and also can drive. Would love to meet up to compare notes, a walk sounds a nice idea - weather permitting. Pushing my buggy along the seafront is one of my favourite hobbies!
I am waiting on a work colleague letting me know when she is off so we can meet up, once I know perhaps we could arrange a day and go for a stroll!?
Hope everyone is enjoying the weekend - isn't the weather awful? We have bought dd one of those all singing/dancing baby seats today in the vain hope it will keep her entertained when I want to shower etc - places where a baby sling just isn't the answer!!

snuffle · 10/02/2007 18:58

That sounds like a plan to me... I need to get out and start walking more (trying to lose the jelly belly post birth!) lets hope for some nice weather.
Just let me know when, looking forward to it.
Weekend good so far, been out buying lights and sounds mobile type thing in the hopes it'll entertain the little one while we're trying to sleep and she's wide awake at 1am!!!!

Lamby71 · 12/02/2007 14:14

Hi guys. Just to let you know that I'm visiting my sister on Friday this week so not around for a meet. Now it's my turn to feel like I'm missing out, plus ... I've got really rank flu. It's horrible - if this is what you had Vicky I sympathise. Luckily the grandparents have taken Joe off my hands for a day and a night. Hope to see some of you at least next week.

littlemisspickles · 13/02/2007 15:10

Hi
I am still Ok for Friday, and snuffle if you fancy that walk - are Mon, Tues or Wed any good for you next week - weather permitting of course! How is the sound/light show - is it keeping your dd entertained in the wee hours? Our new chair has had mixed success.
Took dd to get weighed today and as expected she had only put on 12oz in 2 1/2 weeks! I had loads of things I wanted to ask the HV as well but she was far too busy so came away none the wiser - so I will be relying on you Mums with the older babies!
Is anyone else free for this Friday - and if so when and where?
