Probably a crap name for us but nevermind. LittleMissPickles, will you be joining us at the Sea Lane cafe on Thursday morning? Anybody else in the area reading this, please feel free to come along to our inaugural meeting. Anyone committing themselves on this board before then, should we all agree that if something comes up last minute - could we attempt to login and let others know? I'll have a quick check before I leave. Erm - I guess the baby - 6mths old chubba-chops boy with blonde hair - might give me away. Otherwise I'm 5.7 with short dark hair & quite slim.

Hi
Hope everyone had a good easter and didn't devour too many chocolate eggs!!!!
My DD got a big white fluffy bunny rabbit from her uncle which is almost as big as her! lol
Whens the next meeting? When are people free?

littlemisspickles · 11/04/2007 20:58

Hi
Had a great Easter.Isn't the weather fab? I have bought DD the cutest hat!

Mum has gone home now so we are back to normal - at the moment I am free any afternoon for the forseeable future! Surely it can't rain on us this time!!

snuffle · 14/04/2007 19:08

Hi, am free most afternoons/mornings next week after tuesday.
Is that any good for anyone?

littlemisspickles · 15/04/2007 19:42

Hi
I am free all day Weds, though dentist appt at 5pm - and can do Thursday or Friday afternoon.

Vicky/Lamby - you two still out there?

Anyone else around Worthing area fancy meeting up too?

snuffle · 15/04/2007 21:41

How about friday??
Got app thursday afternoon now and DD has 2nd jabs tuesday, although she wasn't too bad last time don't want to say wednesday just in case she's being grumpy so guess it leaves friday.

custy · 15/04/2007 21:44

i live in goring - but unfortunatley this looks much like a mums & babies thing - plus i work - if ever you do a kids free coffee - please start a thread would be nice to et to know some more people.

are any of you going to participate in the mile for maude in brighton?

please see thread.

littlemisspickles · 16/04/2007 19:49

Hi

Friday it is then! I am entertaining again in the evening - cooking for another of my fussy eater friends! - but at last think I have decided what I can cook. Where shall we meet? Typically the weather is set to worsen that end of the week.

Hope the jabs go OK - DD was worse on her second lot, and I am still awaiting the summons for the third.

Not here for the mile for Maude walk am afraid.

snuffle · 17/04/2007 12:06

Don't mind, fancy worthing seafront or Widewater again? I'm easy either way as I'll have the car.

DD ok at moment, she's just tired but think its her normal tiredness not the jabs but early days yet.

littlemisspickles · 17/04/2007 19:37

Snuffle - I am really sorry but will have to cancel Friday as we had the letter for R's 3rd lot of jabs, and they are 2.15pm, annoying but at least that gets them out of the way.

I am dreading them as last time she didn't fair very well and this time there are three needles!I'm glad yours went OK.

Had a terrible night last night, she is wriggling in her cot so much she turns herself 90 degrees then wakes up as she kicks the side of the cot! Hopefully it is just a phase, as I am trying to wean her off the dummy and get her to sleep without it and am having some success. I am not trying too hard yet as she still feeds at night and is teething so I still set my sights on July for a complete nights sleep!!

Sorry to let you down Friday - when can you do next week?

Vicky75 · 18/04/2007 16:05

Still out here-just don't know where time goes recently! Not even been that busy but days seem to fly by!
We're both ok-we finally have a tooth & crawling (commando style) has taken off big style in the last few weeks-DS moves very fast now & all I hear myself say at the moment is "Leave that alone", "Come away from there", "Other way please" & various other commands. Enjoy the static times while you can.
LMP-weaned DS off the dummy at 5 months-just stopped giving it to him at all & seemed quite accomadating with it. Some will say do it gradually, others say cold turkey, it's one of those "whatever works for your baby" things but I would go for cold turkey cos then they don't get confused & forget it quicker.
& unfortunately there's nothing you can do about rolling-I regularly find DS in various weird positions & sorry to disappoint but he still dosen't sleep through now & that's at 8 & a half months!!! He usually wakes up cos he's on his front & needs flipping or just teething pains but I'm sure one day in the future I'll get consistently good nights sleep-not the "Ha Ha mummy, I fooled you for 3 days by sleeping through & now I'm going to wake up every 2 hours in the night & even take 2 hours to get back to sleep! Let's see how much like a zombie you are in the morning! Ha Ha!"
Hope Lamby is ok-haven't heard from her in a long time. Can't remember if she was going back to work & when?
So I guess from your postings that this week is out but will keep an eye out for next week?

snuffle · 19/04/2007 10:48

LMP - Can do any day next week except wednesday.

DD has been sleeping through for weeks now and stupidly thought it would stay that way but no, she has started waking in the early hours and if an hour of playing spit the dummy doesn't get her back to sleep then a bottle seems to do the trick, only problem is she then doesn't wake until after 9, although this morning it was half 10!!!! She definately turning into her mother, i never liked getting up in the morning until I had a baby! lol

littlemisspickles · 21/04/2007 19:03

Hi guys

Just wanted to say am free Weds all day, Thurs pm and Friday pm next week - hope that suits, gotta go it's bathtime, will post more later hopefully!

snuffle · 22/04/2007 17:41

OK, can't do wednesday but thursday or friday good with me.
Happy to do either day. Hope the weather stays nice will be lovely to have a walk in the sunshine, will make a refreshing change from the cold! lol

littlemisspickles · 24/04/2007 22:12

Hi

Don't mind either day - weather forcast is better for Friday, but then when has that ever stopped us!

Vicky - how exciting crawling! I know I should enjoy the time that DD is stationary, but she gets so grumpy when she is wriggling to move and not getting anywhere, cept a big mouthful of carpet! She is also very grumpy over her teeth - some days worse than others, and I really feel for her - life's tough being a baby. I have however bought a grobag and tucked the end of that under her cot mattress and seem to have prevented the night moves - and I even got a total nights sleep on Sunday! I don't mind getting up for the feed, as we are so slick at it I am usually asleep again in half hour.

We have taken a backward step with the dummy over the weekend as she was so miserable over her teeth she used it quite a lot. I should go cold turkey I know, but it does seem to sooth her when her teeth are really bad, and I am careful not to use it unnecessarily.

Sorry to hear about the sleep problems snuffle - I don't reckon anyone is home and dry really at this stage. Other friends that thought they had a baby that slept through are now finding the child has other ideas.

Let me know which day you prefer

snuffle · 26/04/2007 13:23

Hi, sorry i've only just replied, this week has flown by.
OK for tomorrow, good job we didn't arrange today as the weather has just turned horrid.
2pm at George V or Widewater? Don't mind which.
Hope DD is ok, sounds like she is having a tough time again with teething, good job it doesn't last forever but I'm sure it must feel like a ifetime at the moment.

littlemisspickles · 26/04/2007 15:43

Friday good for me, can we say George V please as I am out in the a.m. and may need those extra minutes!

Teeth seem better today, poor little mite has had a really tough time of it this week.

See you tomorrow - when the sun WILL shine! Vicky too if you can make it?

snuffle · 26/04/2007 16:34

No problem, dads coming round in the morning to strip wallpaper but it shouldn't interfere with me getting to you in time.
Hope the sun shines tomoz, been awful today

littlemisspickles · 06/05/2007 10:17

Hi

Hope you enjoyed your birthday snuffle, and are having a good weekend.

R celebrated by rolling over from back to front, for the first time!!

So, I can do Tuesday, Weds or Thurs pm this week, and Thurs is probably the best - no idea what the forcast is - then we are off to Mums Friday for the week.

Lamby71 · 07/05/2007 22:01

Hello guys. So sorry I haven't posted in ages. Went on hols for a week, have been working a bit and ... well, I just don't know. Weeks have just passed. Gosh, all the babies are getting older aren't they. Fidgeting fiends that they are! Joe is moving but wouldn't say crawling - more like lunging and dragging. Can't get anything done in the day now except when he's asleep. LMP - I had to change Joe from a cot to a cotbed around 5mths 'cos he started banging around so much and waking himself up. He's also teething again (his fifth) and drooling everywhere. And shrieking with excitement whenever he sees another child which is quite sweet. Hmm, I suppose that's about all my news I guess. I'd like to make another meetup soon but this week is quite busy so will try and keep an eye on the thread to see what you're up to. Glad you all sound OK and babies are doing well. Hope to see you soon. (BTW On a bit of a tangent ... If any of you guys fancy a bit of exercise, my friend of mine is running buggy pushing fitness classes at Hove Lagoon. I know it's a bit of a way to go but in the good weather it's worth it. She's an experienced fitness/postnatal instructor. Not as high intensity as the usual aerobics but I was certainly out of breath the time I did it and the endorphins were worth it. See here for more details: www.pushymothers.com . She's hoping to start one up in Worthing very soon but the council are being slow with her license ... . ) xK

Hi
Think I'll have to catch up after your holiday. Tomorrow is a busy day for me now plus I have the decorators in this week... the house is a mess and the weathers not great so not much change of escaping for a walk to the beach.
Hope you have a great break LMP and that DD is feeling better with the teeth, not sure if my DD is on the verge of starting, she's quite grumpy in the mornings now and everything goes straight for the mouth, if she's not chomping on something she's not very happy .
Have a good time, hope the weather cheers up a bit.

eightball · 17/05/2007 08:58

Hi everyone, I'm still in the process of trying to move to worthing (hopefully before my baby is born!).
I was wondering if anyone knew of any good builders in the area? I know the question isn't exactly in keeping with the forum but the sooner I get a quote on things that need to be fixed on the flat I want to buy the sooner I can move in and join the worthing meets!

littlemisspickles · 20/05/2007 18:49

Hi

Back from hols, and had a pretty good time despite the weather. DD did really well, but have started the weaning this weekend and that is less of a success than we hoped! Still.........

Sorry, don't know any local builders as I haven't had to use anyone, though the checkatrade website is quite good for details of trustworthy ones, and I have used that site for other trades.

Anyone want to meet up soon, strolling or tea and cakes? Wouldn't mind some input on the weaning thing.
