Probably a crap name for us but nevermind. LittleMissPickles, will you be joining us at the Sea Lane cafe on Thursday morning? Anybody else in the area reading this, please feel free to come along to our inaugural meeting. Anyone committing themselves on this board before then, should we all agree that if something comes up last minute - could we attempt to login and let others know? I'll have a quick check before I leave. Erm - I guess the baby - 6mths old chubba-chops boy with blonde hair - might give me away. Otherwise I'm 5.7 with short dark hair & quite slim.

No can do for friday this week I'm afraid as I've already got plans for our work maternity office girls meet up so sorry I'm going to miss it again.
Still got a bad cold & feel dreadful still-given it back to little man & big man so we're all suffering as a family. Don't understand why I've been hit so hard with it-maybe I'm not looking after myself as well as I thought & I was run down before I got it. Hope you all manage to avoid it & Lamby, I hope you feel better soon.
Let me know what you decide for the next meet-up, whether it'll be next week or the week after & I promise I'll book it in!!

chez33 · 13/02/2007 22:11

I can do this Friday after all as it's half term at sing and sign. I'm easy re location as I drive.

snuffle · 14/02/2007 10:26

Little Miss Pickles, can't do monday but tues or wed is ok with me, as you say weather permitting... where's the sun gone???
Know what you mean re: HV. Due to the appalling rain last friday the clinic was empty so they had plenty of time to chat and it was more relaxed, but normally I have the same problem.
My little one's soft downy hair is falling out, is this right??? I have read somewhere that its normal for it to fall out in the 1st week after birth but she's coming up 7wks... can anyone shed any light on this?

snuffle · 14/02/2007 10:35

Sound & Light mobile... think its sending me & dad to sleep more then baby... she soon gets bored of watching winnie the pooh drift past on a balloon!!!!
However, its great to have the pooh theme music rattling round my head 24/7!!!!! lol

totallyfloaty35 · 14/02/2007 10:40

Snuffle,its normal dont worry

littlemisspickles · 14/02/2007 21:50

Hi
Chez, it could just be you and me - unless you are up for it floaty? I can also drive so am happy for a location a bit more central than Worthing, as you are more Brighton way. Don't know anywhere other than Holmbush over that way though so would need ideas!
Snuffle - shall we say Tuesday for next week, see what the weather is doing? Managed to get out in the sun this afternoon.
DD managed 7oz for breakfast, must have heard what the HV said about putting on weight.
Hope everyone that was feeling rough is feeling better.

snuffle · 15/02/2007 16:26

Little Miss Pickles, tues is good for me. Where do you fancy meeting?
Glad to hear your DD managed so much grub, mine just about downs 4oz each feed & has only just started putting weight on so keep with it, providing she is happy I wouldn't worry too much.

totallyfloaty35 · 15/02/2007 20:14

Sorry ladies cant make it tomorrow,am up for week after next though

littlemisspickles · 16/02/2007 08:39

Snuffle (and anyone else who fancies joining us) I am quite happy with a stroll along the prom if the weather is up to it. Not very inspiring I know but is easy with a buggy - and I guess the done thing when we live so close to the sea!
If you fancy coffee instead/as well, then Sea Lane cafe was good (can't get buggys inside) or I guess somewhere in town, and we could always go for that if the weather lets us down, or anywhere that you know of. Have to admit I haven't ventured out much in my post baby state to know what places are baby/buggy friendly! Best times for me are 11a.m. or 2p.m, fits around her feeds - which we have just got into something that resembles a routine! Must be working, she slept/fussed a bit/slept from 8.30pm, woke for a 7 oz at 5.30a.m. and is STILL sleeping that off now! I think our patience (actually we were being lazy about organising a realistic bedtime!) might be paying off and she could be establishing the routine for us!
I shall shut up now - just making the most of all this me time!

chez33 · 16/02/2007 08:53

littlemisspickles - really sorry only just managed to get online as I was out all day yesterday. Don't think we can manage today, I had several glasses of vino last night and am feeling slightly weary! got to go out tonight as well which I'm not looking forward too! It's typical I never do anything and then it all happens at once!
I may be up for Tuesday though.

Have a great weekend everyone.

snuffle · 16/02/2007 12:33

Little Miss Pickles, 2pm is better for me as we have good and bad nights at the moment and if she continues with her 4 hour feeding sessions she'll be due at noon (bet she alters her pattern now!!!)
Walk along the prom sounds good, want to meet up at George V end of the prom as parking is free????
With regard to buggy/baby friendly places I know that SOFA opposite the pavilion isn't friendly at all, apparently (even on a lazy sunday afternoon) its for over 21's only, not that is has any signs saying so, nor is a 6wk old about to start a fight!

Lamby71 · 19/02/2007 11:10

Hi everybody. Happy Monday. Anyone fancy meeting Fri am this week for a coffee? Can't make Tues otherwise I'd come along for the stroll.

littlemisspickles · 19/02/2007 12:06

Hi
Hope everyone had a good weekend!

Chez, not a problem - we had a colicky day anyway so would have been poor company!

Lamby, I hope you are feeling better now. We are unable to meet up any other days this week sadly.

However, 2pm tomorrow sounds good to me. We have never managed to get DD to last 4 hours with feeds so have given up now and settled on 3! Interesting about SOFA - I am sure in my previous life we had lunch in there and there was a child having lunch too - not 6 week old granted, but the principal is the same! Still, their loss - and they have stupidly small toilets too, I can remember having trouble negotiating the door with my bump!

Ought we to have a "wet weather" contingency plan for tomorrow?

Anyway - I have a blue corsa and a grey britax travel system. I am the saddo who has to remove the wheels from her buggy each time to get it in the boot, and carry a can of WD40 incase they get stuck on/off! So easily identified! I have a purple jacket and dark hair.

Looking forward to meeting tomorrow.

snuffle · 19/02/2007 16:05

Umm, we should probably have a wet plan.... any ideas?
I said my DD feeding routine would change, we've just upped her bottles to 5oz and yesterday we were feeding every 2.5 - 3 hours and clearing all her feeds, growth spurt I think!
I have a silver volvo and a bright yellow and black bugaboo, know how you feel with the wheel removal, even though I have an estate one wheel has to come off in order for it to fit snug in the boot.
I have shoulder length brown hair and if weather not too warm will have a mauve jacket on.
Looking forward to meeting also.

Vicky75 · 19/02/2007 21:19

Ah yes, snuffle & LMP, I remember the 6 week growth spurt well-don't worry, it passes in under 10 days but you feel like you're feeding all the time til it does!!! But after this you won't have to worry til 12 weeks!!!
But fear not, we're having issues with DS & waking in the night again-it's either his teeth or he loves his bunnies so much, he has to talk to them to make sure they're ok!!
Can't do tomorrow as only just read your plans for it & I've already organised a trip to Seaford for DS to see his Grandad in his new house!
Anybody free to meet thursday this week? Otherwise shall we do something next week-back to being free tuesday (anytime) or friday (anytime) x

littlemisspickles · 20/02/2007 08:38

Morning!
Still Ok for today - though the forcast is not very convincing. Should we meet at the end of George 5th anyway then decide where to go if it is raining? Sea Lane Cafe was OK before - just have to take the LO's in in their car seats.

Snuffle - don't they always catch you out just when you think you have a routine going? We are trying to get DD in bed earlier at the mo, and having mixed success.

Vicky - I am starting baby massage next week which is Tuesday am, just for 4 weeks, but can do Fridays. Would be good to meet up again.

I shall check on here later for cancellation, otherwise snuffle see you on the front at George 5th at 2pm - and anyone else who wants to join us!

snuffle · 20/02/2007 11:06

Yep, still ok for today. Thought weather was going to cheer up but its turned overcast and just miserable again
Will meet as agreed and if its just too depressing to walk will go with other plan, wont assemble buggy unless its clear the walk will go ahead so keep your eyes peeled for the car instead, silver volvo V50.

Vicky75 - tell me about it, she can't get enough at the moment, so much for thinking the upped feeds would get us 6/7hrs straight sleep through the night!!!!

Can't do this thursday, very busy day and friday morning I have weigh clinic again but can probably do something next week sometime.

Vicky75 · 20/02/2007 23:24

I know how you feel Snuffle cos I was there with DS a few months ago so you're not alone. You just have to ride it out I'm afraid, but it will settle back down again. Can't promise you it will last though-DS was a nightmare with his feeds & sleeps. He's six and a half months now & has only just started sleeping through & having said that, the last 3 days he's started waking up at 1,3 & 5 again cos he's teething.
The only piece of advice I've been given that is 100% accurate & has stayed with me throughout is this- just when you think you know where you are with them & you think you have a routine, they change it so you have no idea where you are again!!!!
Sorry, that prob doesn't make you feel any better!
Hope you had a good get together today & maybe we can do next friday? x

littlemisspickles · 21/02/2007 10:44

Hi
Great to meet you yesterday Snuffle - though look at the weather today! I hope you managed to get home in time to feed your DD.

Mine has been emulating exactly what Vicky has said - there's me being all smug thinking that 3 hour feeding was where we were at, and now it's sometimes 2 hours - sometimes 4, and most of the time we aren't finishing what we were a few days ago. We changed her to the faster teats cos she was taking an age feeding and dropping off to sleep mid feed, and these appear to be too fast as they are giving her really bad wind, meaning she takes an age to feed! Can't win.

Also she has discovered yelling, so no longer has to rely on screaming and crying to entertain me in the shower. On the plus side she did yell herself out totally so that she went quiet again without me having to pick her up!

Good luck with the teething. When I was working a lot of people recommended the teething granules, either Nelsons or Boots own, and you can use them along with Calpol and teething gel/anbesol etc cos they are natural. Provided he isn't asthmatic, an ibuprofen painkiller (nurofen for kids)may be more effective actually than calpol as it is anti inflammatory, and again you can stagger this with paracetamol based medicine doses! Sorry if you already knew this - but I am just proving I haven't forgotten everything since I stopped working!

Next Friday would be good for us. I am off now to get the washing out and get DD out in the fresh air - make the most of this gorgeous day

snuffle · 22/02/2007 11:23

LMP - Great to meet you too and I thought the same about the weather yesterday, sadly I had such a busy day we weren't able to get out for a walk, apart from a couple of hours in town looking for a wedding outfit for our friends big day next week.

Its nice to meet someone who's DD is so close in age to my DD.

I'm just going with the little one now, she changes from night to night at the moment, went down really easily last night without too much resistance and thought she'd probably wake about 4ish but no, 1am and it was 'feed me, feed me', then she went through til 8am! It'll all change again tonight no doubt!

Am ok for friday, though arvo's would be better as I may have weigh clinic in the morning but should know tomorrow.

Lamby71 · 22/02/2007 12:08

If anyone wants to meet tomorrow (Fri) am about 11ish I'm free. I'm going to come into Worthing to get Joe's passport photos done. If, Snuffle and LMP, you'd rather meet in the afternoon then I won't be offended. Am going out for the afternoon now but will be back online between about 7.30 and 8.15 (how precise!) to check for any messages.

OP posts:
littlemisspickles · 22/02/2007 18:27

Hi
Not wishing to brag or anything but DD slept from 7.30pm til 6.30am! And that definately won't be repeated tonight!
Sorry Lamby but I have plans for tomorrow, but am Ok for next Friday and afternoons suit me fine Snuffle (what about you Vicky?) - especially as someone was telling me today that if you take the baby out into fresh air between 12 and 4pm then they are more likely to sleep through at night! and as she was on the prom yesterday afternoon too there could be something in that!
Couldn't get her weighed today as the HV was off sick and she was too windy at Mum and Baby to bother. Am a bit concerned as she is only managing 3oz most feeds at the mo then getting really bad stomach pains and refusing the rest.

snuffle · 24/02/2007 17:51

Don't worry about the feeds, my DD sometimes takes the full 5oz then other feeds only takes 3-4.
She has the start of a cold coming and has the snuffles, she has been sleeping alot but guess its cos she's not feeling well???

Friday is good for me, all up for the afternoons if its meant to make them sleep at night, though my little one hasn't been doing too bad, she tends to cat nap during the day and do sessions lasting anywhere between 4-6 hours during the night.

Same place and time next friday then???

Lamby71 · 26/02/2007 13:10

Hi guys. I'm around all day Thurs and Fri am this week if that's any good for anyone? Now better go and clean the fridge whilst Joe is asleep. Whoopee.
