Morning all Flowers

Here's the spreadsheet for its final outing although that said, you'll see that @FinallyHere has added extra columns for anyone who wants to keep using it

I hope that all has gone well - and I notice that we have at least 2 Bootcampers who have reached/exceeded the 1 stone mark, which is fantastic!

Just because we've reached the end of the 8 weeks doesn't mean that you have to stop - or stop chatting. We'll keep this thread going for as long as people want to use it, and I'll start a new one once this one gets full.

Good morning @BIWI and everyone still bootcsmping. Happy Monday

UnOeufIsEnough · 08/07/2024 08:57

Morning! Thanks @BIWI and @FinallyHere!

I hope you had a lovely trip, BIWI.

Wee whoosh for me to finish off the official bootcamp so very chuffed to have lost 4lb this week to take me to just over 12lb for this bootcamp and 34lb off since February!

alwaysonadiet1 · 08/07/2024 09:00

Happy Monday everyone. I'm 10 lbs lighter than 8 weeks ago and down a dress size and into healthy bmi. Helped along at the end by an upset stomach (not to be recommended). I'll keep on with bootcamp extra lite and 16:8 and lose a bit more for my big birthday in a few months. Great to 'meet' you all. ☀️

Stowickthevast · 08/07/2024 09:04

Thanks for the new thread @BIWI

Well done @UnOeufIsEnough that's an amazing loss.

I've had a tiny loss this week, just 0.2lb that brings me just over 5lb for the whole of Bootcamp. But I don't have too much to lose and haven't been that strict so am happy to have any loss at all.

I'm moving to a mixture of 5:2 and low carbing for the next few weeks as want a bit more flexibility over the summer.

Off for a weekend away with my school friends and many carbs in the form of alcohol and bread are likely to be consumed so am trying to find some happy medium that lets me do both.

Will keep track on the spreadsheet so if I start gaining weight, I can revise my strategy.

alwaysonadiet1 · 08/07/2024 09:04

Fantastic @UnOeufIsEnough, how much more to lose until you reach your target? I'm going for 10 lbs by my birthday, then I'll see how I look. It used to suit me to be very slim but I don't know how my face will be if so go too low these days!

UnOeufIsEnough · 08/07/2024 09:11

I have a fair way to go! But less than I did back in February!

I've got 8lb to get me into the 'overweight' category so that's my first target! After that, I'm slowly tackling another 20lb. I'm a size 16 at the moment and would love to be a 14. I'm not far off 6ft so I'd be very happy! In 2006 I was a size 28 so a 14 would be a dream!

I have lipoedema which makes losing weight difficult so I'm not putting lots of pressure on myself.

alwaysonadiet1 · 08/07/2024 09:48

@UnOeufIsEnough you are doing brilliantly. Keep on posting so we know how you're doing.

UnOeufIsEnough · 08/07/2024 10:49

@alwaysonadiet1 thank you FlowersSmile

BIWI · 08/07/2024 12:18

Agree, you've made fantastic progress @UnOeufIsEnough

Lougle · 08/07/2024 12:35

Well done @UnOeufIsEnough! I love it that you've broken your goals down.

I am really happy. I have lost 3.1lbs this week, making my total loss in the 7 weeks I participated 11.4lbs. If I used my weight from Saturday, it would be even more, but I've put on another lb since then.

I'm bang smack in the middle of healthy BMI now, but would like to shave off another 5-10lbs because I'm quite small framed.

BIWI · 08/07/2024 15:26

Great news @Lougle!

MissBeck · 08/07/2024 15:46

Afternoon all. I've finished bootcamp losing a very respectable 9lbs. This morning's weight was 148.37lbs, so I'd put on 0.4 lbs, but I'm not suprised after more shoddy eating over the last 4 days,

@BIWI Welcome back! Hope you had a lovely time!

@UnOeufIsEnough 4lb in a week is bloody impressive! Well done you!

@alwaysonadiet1 Fab job with your dress size down and loss!

@Stowickthevast I'll be continuing on the spreadsheet as well!

@Lougle Another one with a great loss in the last week! Well done!

I hope you're all going to stick around for chatting occasionally as I've really enjoyed the conversations.

PunksVersusBrats · 08/07/2024 18:28

I lost the extra 1lb that I wanted to, a minor miracle at this point in the term when I'm barely hanging on to my sanity! It brings my total to 10lb and just tips me into a healthy bmi. Thanks for the extra columns, I think that I will keep using it to hold myself accountable now that @BIWI's stick will be going back in its cupboard for a bit.

pangolinfan · 08/07/2024 21:42

Well done fellow week 8-ers. My total for seven weeks (having started late) is 9lbs and I want to keep going for another 3 weeks, recreating an old school 10 week bootcamp as they once were. Thanks for everyone's company along the way. Unlike others I still have some way to go to a healthy BMI (about 9-10 lbs) so want keep plodding along. My best non scale victory this bootcamp was running my first parkrun since last September on Saturday, and my best new recipe was @BIWI's Gruyère and onion tart (so good) and @prettybirds sugarless version of Nigella's clementine cake. My best new product discovery was Aldi's soyabean "spaghetti" (pretty good pasta/noodle substitute for 3g carbs per portion and its only ingredient is organic soybeans). I haven't been perfectly compliant, but I've done ok, and have curbed my sugar cravings. Onwards!

Magnolia82 · 09/07/2024 06:52

Well done to those who have seen some great losses.

I've lost a tiny amount this bootcamp. I have stuck to strict bootcamp most of the time, with some berries added in occasionally. I never really drink alcohol (maybe twice a year?!).
I am short and officially at a 'healthy' weight, so I guess it will continue to be slow? I've got a really small frame and every extra pound seems to be on my tummy!

I definitely feel better eating low carb. In between the last 2 bootcamps I generally continued but added in some pulses once a week.

alwaysonadiet1 · 09/07/2024 09:37

@pangolinfan I was interested in your soybean spaghetti but I don't have an Aldi near me so I looked it up. Holland and Barrett do a version but it's 13g carbs per 100g. How big is the portion size on the Aldi box? Thank you.

UnOeufIsEnough · 09/07/2024 09:40

I happened to have a box to hand! Here's the back of the box!

alwaysonadiet1 · 09/07/2024 09:48

@UnOeufIsEnough thank you. They are giving the values for it cooked which partly explains it, but it's still only 6g per 100g raw. I wonder why Holland and Barrett's is over double that 🤔

NotDonna · 09/07/2024 10:31

Oh here you all are. I hadn’t seen BIWIs last message and ‘I’m on’ section made it look like there was no new chat.
I’ve no access to scales so no clue how I’m doing. My shorts are still fitting but I’m wondering if they’ve stretched as I’ve worn them a lot! I’ll find out the truth when I try them on after washing them today! I expect it’s not too brilliantly as I’m drinking wine but I am avoiding obvious carbs.
There’s some flipping amazing losses! Well done!

BIWI · 09/07/2024 11:26

Are you still away @NotDonna? Sounds like you had/are having a fantastic time.

I had a lovely time in Vienna - for a start, it was warm and sunny! - but food choices were definitely not Bootcamp-compliant. And the size of the portions Shock

So I'm postponing any weighing for a while Blush

OP posts:
NotDonna · 09/07/2024 12:06

Yes still away BIWI and another 10 days to go! But like you portion size and some items not exactly bootcamp compliant. 😬😬

MissBeck · 09/07/2024 20:33

Evening all!
Feel really podgy today. I had a pork roast last night, and took the leftovers to work for my lunch. Don't know if it's psychological but feels like I've had 2 cooked meals in one day. I'm only used to having something light at lunch! 😂

pangolinfan · 09/07/2024 22:07

No idea @alwaysonadiet1 why the Holland and Barrett spaghetti appears to be carbier. 50g uncooked weight is quite a small portion - but is enough so long as you have a good amount of sauce or stir fry protein and veg.

FinallyHere · 09/07/2024 22:28

Hello lovely bootcampers, gratters on the great results and also for anyone getting back on the waggon: equally important for the long term commitment.

High five for @Magnolia82 I'm similar, small build in the upper healthy BMI range. I'd like to be squarely in mid range to have some wiggle room for high days and holidays. Pleased to report 500g (1lbs approx.) down over the last two months.

Bootcamp weekdays / Bootcamp lite at weekends more because I feel better when I drink lots of water and just sidestep the rush followed by dip that sugar means for me. Fitting into the white shorts again since I first bought them in 1990 is just a welcome by product of eating this way.

Magnolia82 · 10/07/2024 08:09

Thank you @FinallyHere. I'm a daily weigh-er and I've lost a huge half a pound today! It's the lowest I've been since November! 😊

I gained a few pounds over Christmas and it's taken me 7 months to lose them. I didn't even eat that much over Christmas (I really didn't!)- the struggle of being short-ish and small framed!
