Morning all Flowers

Here's the spreadsheet for its final outing although that said, you'll see that @FinallyHere has added extra columns for anyone who wants to keep using it

I hope that all has gone well - and I notice that we have at least 2 Bootcampers who have reached/exceeded the 1 stone mark, which is fantastic!

Just because we've reached the end of the 8 weeks doesn't mean that you have to stop - or stop chatting. We'll keep this thread going for as long as people want to use it, and I'll start a new one once this one gets full.

Evening all!

Wecome @KrazyboutKillian and good to see you back @Pleaseandthankyou I know you had a rough time but you had toast!! 😛

How did the birthday meal go @prettybird ?

@NotDonna 😂😂You're as bad as me!

Been a quite weekend without DD here, as you can imagine when you live with someone with Tourettes. Already had an email yesterday (Day 1) to say she had a massive tic attack when a flood set off the fire alarms and she had to be taken to medical! 😲That place is a curse! 😂

Enjoyed ALL the crispy skin on my chicken tonight as she always snaffles it!

Not too hopeful for tomorrow morning weigh in as I feel a bit dumpy. Weight has been up and down all week, but there will definitely not be another suprising loss like last week. Oh well. KOKO

NotDonna · 28/07/2024 22:28

Absolutely gorgeous day spent by the beach! Lunch was a Caesar salad & dinner left over curry from Fri with cauli rice & salads. I’m also feeling dumpy (hardly surprising after yesterday) so not looking forward to weigh in tomorrow.

MissBeck · 29/07/2024 07:17

Quick check in. A measly 0.2lb loss.

Lougle · 29/07/2024 07:53

It's still a loss @MissBeck . I bet your graph looks good?

I've lost 2lb this week overall. I did drop another ½lb but put it back on again in the last couple of days.

I'm quite pleased with my graph overall. I go to a wedding on Saturday and I'm pretty much at my ideal weight now.

Sums it up perfectly. I’ve been a bit all over the place since returning back from holidays. At least consistently down from the post holiday gain but I’m going to try and be more consistent as would love to lose a stone overall.

And eat more healthily.

BIWI · 29/07/2024 09:28

That's brilliant @Lougle!

Woo Hoo @Lougle Great you're at your ideal weight! 👏 I'll post my chart later!

alwaysonadiet1 · 29/07/2024 16:42

Well done @Lougle
Welcome @KrazyboutKillian
I'm plodding on slowly but had a lovely surprise when reorganising my wardrobe. I found a summer dress bought this time last year and forgotten all about it as I couldn't fit into it. Now it looks good on. 😁

Oh I love that kind of discovery @alwaysonadiet1 I came home today and because of the heat, rooted round in a box that was filled with clothes that were too small and destined for ebay/charity shop and found some shorts! Size 16 and too big! 😂I'm still wearing them, because I can! 😂

alwaysonadiet1 · 29/07/2024 17:40

@MissBeck
Well done us! ☀️☀️☀️☀️

alwaysonadiet1 · 29/07/2024 17:41

My youngest daughter's wardrobe is half full of size 10 dresses which I refuse to give up on. Sorry DD! 🤣

alwaysonadiet1 · 29/07/2024 17:44

I'm taking out my dress discovery to a great restaurant tonight! Sitting outside. It's boiling hot in London but should be ok by 8!

😂😂😂My DD was horrified that I 'borrowed' her denim jacket a few weeks ago! We are such cool moms! 😂

Chart over 3 months. It is all over the place!! 😂😂

Amazing result @Lougle 🥳🥳

BIWI · 30/07/2024 08:08

@MissBeck that's a perfectly normal-looking chart! Everyone's weight fluctuates day-by-day. Your long-term chart shows a clear downward trend, which is the most important thing.

Amazing result @Lougle 🥳🥳

Sorry!! Meant to quote @BIWI !! I know, I'd rather not have the yo-yo effect though. 😂But of course, I've only myself to blame for that!

Just had 2 lovely slices of bellydraft and veg. Trying hard to resist the last mini magnum in the freezer! 😂It may not work.

Wallywobbles · 30/07/2024 22:28

Does anyone know when the next bootcamp starts?

Afternoonteavirgin · 31/07/2024 06:09

I'd like to know that too! I've been toying with joining for a while. Just been a little too intimidated at the thought. I've always done things alone!

I lost a lot of weight with low carb in 2022 but it crept back on once I relaxed too much. I've just started eating this way again, last few weeks and although I am looking and feeling better it's difficult to gauge as I don't have anywhere at home I can weigh myself.

I bought some fancy scales but I live in an old village house and the floors are all uneven and carpeted. Even the floor outside is wonky!

I should've taken measurements.

I'm 5"2, muscular in structure from weight lifting and pole.
I'm an apple and any extra weight on me looks awful!

I'm also going to a music festival in a couple of weeks (four day event) where low carving will be impossible (& just not a great idea) but I'd like to look good for it as it is my equivalent of a summer holiday, I want to be able to be comfortable in the sun and wear what I want!

I'm also a vegan. Just to throw in another caveat.

I ate too much yesterday. Was hungry all day. Thought I'd done the right thing by having fat (mayo, guacamole, sesame oil on my tofu salad, home made coleslaw) but I was still hungry a few hours later which confused me. I'm drinking a lot of water so it isn't that.
I am quite ran-down at the moment however. Been doing a lot of life-rethinks and not sleeping properly, a swollen gland and sore mouth, all tell tale signs with me so perhaps it is that.
Definitely sticking to it this time and will be more careful with maintenance!

BIWI · 31/07/2024 09:48

Being a vegan is really very, very difficult to combine with low carbing!

I have no plans to start a new Bootcamp for the forseeable, I'm afraid.

But nothing to stop you posting here. Still many of us who check in/post/offer support.

OP posts:
Afternoonteavirgin · 31/07/2024 11:58

I guess I don't know any different! I've been vegan for 23 years. The only thing I worry about is UPFs and salt, really. Not a worry if you eat meat and dairy so much but all high protein low carb foods for vegans tned to be UPF (aside from tofu).

I feel like I overate yesterday (and according to MFP I am over my losing weight quota slightly) but I have not been hungry today yet at all. Had two coffees with low carb creamer and two large glasses of squash. I tried to switch to carbonated water with lemon/lime in which I did like but I almost choked on a pip so I am back to UPF cordial now. Less plastic waste I guess.

I think for lunch I'll make a tofu salad with peanut or sesame oil, vegan mayo and some crumbled brazil nuts, maybe a bit of vegan feta (that's slightly too high carb so only a little bit) and some home-made salsa. I wish I could dip something in it-I guess poppadums are about 5carbs each so I could one of those.

Other things I've been making recently are spaghetti bolognese but with barknaked noodles and vegan mince-but that's a bit too salty for often. Tofu with roast veg is another favourite but haven't got any in at the moment.

BIWI · 31/07/2024 13:08

Why are you worried about the salt? If you're following Bootcamp - even as a vegan! - you should be drinking plenty of water, which means you really do need to focus on your electrolytes, especially sodium.

(Oh, and squash really isn't Bootcamp-friendly, I'm afraid!)

OP posts:
Afternoonteavirgin · 31/07/2024 13:11

I worry about salt because a lot of low-carb vegan food products are UPFs.

I know-I just really really can't do plain water. I know the sweeteners can be combative to what I am trying to achieve. I will buy some more sparkling water tonight, just haven't had chance to get back to the shops yet.

MissBeck · 31/07/2024 19:00

Evening campers!
Hi @Afternoonteavirgin 👏I was once like you with the not liking plain water, but I persevered mainly because I wanted to lose the weight more than not liking what I was drinking! I now chugg 2.2litres of plain water at work with ease! Not saying it's grown on me, but it's part of my day now! 😊

Just had pork and crackling, ALL the crackling cause DD isn't here, with buttery cauli, broccoli and fine beans. Will have the rest of the meat tomorrow for lunch.

@alwaysonadiet1 How did your lovely dress adventure get on? Was it a nice meal?

@BIWI If no more bootcamps, will the spreadsheet run out on a certain date, or could it be continued?

alwaysonadiet1 · 31/07/2024 19:12

@MissBeck The dress had a lovely outing thanks and I'm wearing it again today. I had a picnic today with a friend I haven't seen for a while. She noticed that I'm a stone down! 🥳
