I'm starting a Follow on thread for Week 1 as we've been so busy chatting and supporting each other, while there is still space to link to it on the first thread Smile

Lovely dinner last night inspired by the pizza alternatives chat earlier this week. Butterflied chicken breasts toppled with a tomato shallot mushroom olive sauce with Mozzarella and Parmesan. Served with green beans. Even the toddler loved it despite leaving the mushrooms and asked if we can have it again!

Busy afternoon around town which was lovely. Stuck to sparking water again

FusionChefGeoff · 18/04/2021 07:39

@MrsOmelette I had a day like that recently - definitely related to my period but usually I would have demolished horrific quantities of crisps and chocolate so I 'indulged' myself whilst feeling pleased everything was still on plan and that this was part of my body's natural
cycle.

I'm sure BIWI would say that if you're genuinely hungry a) are you getting enough fat and b) eat!

FusionChefGeoff · 18/04/2021 07:43

@Stepharoo78 welcome!!!!

This spreadsheet is the place to start as it has loads of info and the rules plus a carb count for veg which was very enlightening for me!!

Main rule I think is that we don't count carbs or calories or deny ourselves. This woe is about eating when you are hungry, until you are satisfied.

These threads are amazing for ideas, inspiration, motivation and queries. Stick with us and you'll be alright Smile

Morning all.

I have been a Cathy twat. I ate bread, popcorn and chocolate. It wasn't even nice! Wah. Total regret. But back on it today, a d will probably consider tomorrow as my first official start as I am back at work.

Plan for today
B boiled egg a d mayo
L bbq - burger, sausage and various salads
D green soup, cheese.

Makegoodchoices · 18/04/2021 08:44

Yesterday didn’t quite go to plan as we had a last minute invitation to a bbq - great timing as I was just about to do battle with the celeriac.

Managed to stay mostly on diet as I only ate meat, cheese, salad and a load of olives. Had a Coke Zero as a way of avoiding other drinks but otherwise was really pleased with myself. Also cycled there, so exercise happened (v rare).

So today is:
B: Greek yog
L: prawn Mayo salad
D: Roast chicken, green beans and celeriac dauphinoise. My son has looked at the celeriac and said “um, no thanks” my husband is dubious (and not dieting) so it may be just for me.

Welcome @Stepharoo78 !

@Bestbees at least you now have the ‘totally wasn’t worth it’ feeling that should get you through next time. I was lucky with my bbq that I was with the only friend who isn’t a ‘food pusher’ - she doesn’t question why you haven’t tried something or say no to cake. Many of my other friends & family are of the ‘act like you’re offending them if you don’t eat/drink everything they’re having’ type, which is exhausting!

Doilooklikeatourist · 18/04/2021 08:46

Morning all , another sunny Sunday
Had a good week ( I think ) and stood on the scales this morning , to see there is improvement
Going to the beach for a walk so today’s plan is ( well , not much of a plan to be fair )
B eggs and mushrooms
L ? Not sure , we’ll be out
D M & S Chinese meal , will not have the lemon sauce and will top up the veg with lots of stir fry

BrassicaBabe · 18/04/2021 09:09

Thanks for the birthday wishes.

Can I add a pic of my fav chooks and a little snap of my pregnant ewe to the livestock chat?

Getting a bit freaked out that the person in blue in this thread (mobile app) isn't BIWI GrinSooooo jealous of your eyebrow tint etc. Got mine booked for Friday coming. Cannot wait! Random white ones for me too Hmm

Err, what?! Celariac is now carby over the magic 6g per 100g?! Shock

prettybird · 18/04/2021 09:18

Sorry @Brassicababe - but needs must at the end of the last thread and it will not be much longer before BIWI starts the Week 2 thread

Welcome @Stepharoo78 Thanks We have people jumping in all the time throughout the course of Boot Camp Smile. Key thing is to Read the Rules (in the OP of the original Week 1 thread, but also in the Spreadsheet of Fabulousness that FusionChefGeoff has linked to) - and to do the strict 1st 2 weeks even when the rest of us are moving (in whole or in part) on to Boot Camp Light. You can ask AthelstaneTheUnready to put you on to the Weigh-In sheet if you want to track your progress "officially" but it's not compulsory. Smile

Loving the ewe! Sadly the only livestock I have is a 3 legged cat.

Happy Sunny Sunday all!
Plan today is get out and go for another sodding walk. I have always enjoyed walking but it would be nice to have a few other choices at some point.
Has anyone found a recipe box that fits in with this WOE ? I normally do Gousto every two weeks and I find it is really good for not getting stuck in a food rut but I can't see any that are specific low carb.
I thought mindful chef would be a good start but the carbs are v.high . And the plans are very spendy!

No! Celeriac was briefly a cathy twat yesterday, but it saw the light and is now lower than ever! Grin

Welcome @Stepharoo78. I haven't checked, but I've a vague feeling that you're already on the spreadsheet. Did you sign up a week or so ago?

Thanks @Andi2020, you're very sweet to think of me and the spreadsheet! I was just being mischievous in order to tempt Athelstane into playing with it. Not much she won't do for a nice dataset, or so I've heard...

Let's hope for another sunny day today. Had to rescue a bat from the patio yesterday, but I don't think the little fella has made it Sad

50FootWave · 18/04/2021 09:34

Quick post amongst all the gorgeous animal pictures!

B: scrambled eggs
L: chicken salad
D: beef chilli without the beans & broccoli

3l water and a big walk for DP's birthday.

Happy Sunday!

Just had some Greek youghurt for breakfast. I was quite hungry and I didn't really believe that would be able to eat out a portion and then leave the three-quarters empty carton alone, rather than scraping it empty.
But I genuinely do feel satisfied. Of course the temptation to just keep going until all the yoghurt is gone is still there, but it isn't backed up by mad tyrannical hormonal signals throbbing through my belly and chest (funnily enough my 'bad hunger', my cravings, seem to lodge themselves in my chest as much as lower down).

Another striking thing: When I first joined the thread I wailed a little bit about the prohibition on nuts. This was partly because I have almonds, and peanut butter and almond butter in the cupboard and I JUST DIDN'T BELIEVE that I could resist them. Usually when I buy almond and peanut butter I have about one day when I eat it sensibly and then I end up standing by the cupboard and spooning it straight from the jar Grin. But I genuinely haven't been tempted by it at all.

prettybird · 18/04/2021 09:46

@Jellycatspyjamas - lovely bracelet Smile

I know McIntyres - great jeweller and fantastic value. My eternity ring is from there. We went there to pick it (dh gave me an empty ring box for Christmas and said we should choose it together) and they spent ages with us helping to select one and even though dh's mental budget has been well into 4 figures, the one that we chose that looked best on my hand was a fraction of that. I also have a lovely watch from there. First came across the place when a colleague at work suggested going there to get a present for someone who was leaving and we got her a beautiful silver cuff.

@Andi2020 you most definitely can eat swede!

to echo what @venusandmars said, and as I always say in my disclaimer, if you have a condition like hypertension (high blood pressure) or high cholesterol or diabetes - for which you take medication - low carbing is very likely to improve those conditions, so your dosage may have to be altered. Talk to your GP about low carbing first before you take more tablets - in a week or so you may find that it's dropped anyway.

BIWI · 18/04/2021 10:10

(I'm not a doctor/medic though - so the specific timing isn't a direct promise - but over the length of Bootcamp, certainly, you should see an improvement, especially if you also add in other beneficial behaviours, like exercise)

BIWI · 18/04/2021 10:11

@Momsincharge how many carbs in that spaghetti?

BIWI · 18/04/2021 10:12

@MrsOmelette - instead of just increasing your portion sizes, have you been upping your fat (and protein)? And are you drinking all the water?

Rshard · 18/04/2021 10:13

Laughed at your nut butter scoffing with a spoon random, I can totally do the same usually.

Had a sneaky peak on the scales and it’s looking good. Have baked this morning and know without a doubt I will not be tempted, really feeling in control and that’s a lot to do with these threads, so thanks!

Gorgeous ewe brassica and welcome stepheroo

BIWI · 18/04/2021 10:13

Welcome @Stepharoo78! You will find a lot of helpful information on the spreadsheet, but anything you want to know/ask, just post here - there's always someone who can help.

When you say you've cut out carbs, though, I hope you don't mean all carbs?! You will be getting important carbs/nutrition from vegetables and salad.

BIWI · 18/04/2021 10:17

Oh dear @Bestbees! Not good.

But can you learn from that? Do you know why you went for self-sabotage? What could you do next time so that you can resist the lure of Cathy Twat?

BIWI · 18/04/2021 10:18

@BrassicaBabe I'm not blue, I'm pink!

And don't worry about the celeriac counts - they are definitely not right.

prettybird · 18/04/2021 10:18

My daily weigh in this morning showed that I've dropped 5lb Smile so I might use that depending on what tomorrow says Wink - that'll be the rapid filling of glycogen stores from the week before Blush depleting again. Grin

So my productive day, both in the garden and with food, yesterday and all the water Wink, has had the required effect Halo

OP posts:
Bestbees · 18/04/2021 10:21

@BIWI I am not sure really. We are away and so it's a holiday in a sense. But it felt very much stupid even at the time. It was butter spread which was gross and the bread was not nice. I think possible it's connected to not drinking enough during the day? Who knows! Someone in a previous thread said it's not the falling off, but whether it totally derails you and I am determined that it won't happen. Have run 5k, eaten eggs and now off for a stide up a hill. Onwards!

Random789 · 18/04/2021 10:22

I googled Cathy Twat just to see if there was some poor soul who actually has that name and is being blamed here for everyone's relapses. Bootcamp is the second google result, and every other result on the page is porn -- as I should have anticipated if I hadn't been suh a doe-eyed numpty.
