I'm starting a Follow on thread for Week 1 as we've been so busy chatting and supporting each other, while there is still space to link to it on the first thread Smile

@FusionChefGeoff yeah definitely makes sense and that’s what led to me weighing everyday and just getting obsessed. I used to get so down and think I’d done something wrong every time my weight went up slightly even though it was probably just normal fluctuations. Thank you. I’m going to get my partner to hide the scales! Grin

Stepharoo78 · 18/04/2021 22:17

Aww thanks guys. ☺️ have spend a happy hour planning next week. Done a bit of meal prep today and went for a short swim. Looking forward to a good week next week!

prettybird · 18/04/2021 22:24

@Keeva2017 - yes, I've regularly continued to lose inches when the scales are stalling. That's why we always say that it's important to measure yourself when you start this WoE. Your waist in particular is where the inches or centimetres Wink will start to reduce as the dangerous internal visceral fat reduces. Smile Have you been having plenty of water? Water is key to making this WoE work.

@Jellycatspyjamas I love that dish (the Boursin stuffed, Parma ham wrapped chicken) Smile. I do it regularly with chicken breast - I've never tried it with chicken thighs. I usually shove some unpeeled garlic cloves alongside side them and drizzle with olive oil and a squirt of lemon juice.

@Nateismine : adding cream to yoghurt depends on the yoghurt. If you've found one of the authentic Greek 10% fat ones (which ironically, no longer includes Fage/Total Confused), then you'll probably find you don't need to.

In terms of how much, I find two dessert spoonfuls (with a pinch of cinnamon) plenty Smile

@colouringindoors I find that when you first cut celeriac it smells a bit sharp like celery. But is doesn't have that same taste. Neither cooked (in a dauphinoise) nor raw (in a remoulade or slaw). It tastes warm, nutty, less strong than a swede.

@FusionChefGeoff the important thing is not whether you ate enough veg TODAY, but whether overall you're having a balanced diet (which you certainly seem to). A nutritionist once told me that the most balanced single ingredient mouthful of food was a bunch of parsley. But no-one wants to eat a diet of parsley! This was to illustrate that we don't eat a perfectly balanced diet in every mouthful, or every meal, or every day, or even every week (think the natural seasonal variation of eating locally produced foodstuffs). All we should do is be mindful of where the nutritional gaps are, and fill them as soon as we can.

@Nateismine (little head bow) I'm going to try the poached egg approach tomorrow - with some trepidation after too many stories of eggs exploding in the microwave... watch this space!

Hello Everyone- and waves to @Prettybird from RTB's threads.

I'm not formally part of this thread and am having trouble accessing the spreadsheet, but reading with interest as have started to severely limit my carb intake in an effort to get off of the weight loss plateau I was on for a month or so and am really loving the recipe suggestions.

Cooking is my hobby I suppose and I find this way of eating fits very well with my lifestyle more generally and is not at all joyless as some other weight loss regimes are.

I've lost 30 pounds so far since last October and have realistically as far again to go. Then I hit the dreaded plateau but am now losing again, with a version of this WOE and increased activity ( joined the gym again last week. Emphasis on again there- I have gained and lost the same three stone for decades.)

I will go back to lurking now as I am not a boot camper as such and don't want to detract from your conversation with my modified version as that is not the purpose of these threads. But keep the meal ideas coming- I am reading with interest !

TeddingtonTrashbag · 19/04/2021 07:51

Love the chicken/boursin/parma ham combo.
How long/what temp to cook at?

I am do happy to have started this ladt week -back to e tomorrow (teacher) and rhiz has set me up really well to avoid biscuits/junk that is e around in our work study. I keep checking myself for hunger - weird never to be hungry!

TeddingtonTrashbag · 19/04/2021 07:55

And I have lost 2lb since last weigh-in a week ago. Okay modest but enough for a little boost and given the lack of hunger and the large amount of tasty veg (butter!) and water -would be a good outcome health wise even without that loss.

Jellycatspyjamas · 19/04/2021 07:59

@TeddingtonTrashbag I did mine at 160 (fan oven) for around 25 minutes, the chicken thighs made tiny cute parcels, a larger breast might take a bit longer.

Random789 · 19/04/2021 08:23

Bit scared of today's weigh-in. I got such a buzz from the weight loss the sales showed on Saturday that I have slipped into that destructive dragon-chasing mode where I am anxious to get that same little fix every day.

That's exactly the mindset that sets me up to fail, because if there is no weight loss, or even a reversal, I will feel demoralised and snacky.

It's so hard to let go of that, isn't it -- even when you know very clearly that weekly and daily weight loss is so much less important than the trjectory over a period of months. I know I can focus on inches, etc, instead, but they feel like methadone, with the scales being the actual heroin.

50FootWave · 19/04/2021 09:06

Argh, I've lost the SSoF and the new thread!

@BIWI @StuntNun please can you help?

Thank you.

StuntNun · 19/04/2021 09:16

@50FootWave the week 2 Bootcamp thread is here, the spreadsheet is linked in the first post.

50FootWave · 19/04/2021 09:36

Thanks, @StuntNun, you're fabulous!

Makegoodchoices · 19/04/2021 09:38

Loving seeing all the new counts going into the sheet this morning!

Today will be:
B: Poached eggs (in microwave, worked great but need mine in a little longer if they don’t have toast to soak into!)
L: Chicken salad
D: Cajun salmon and FLGV

This morning’s joy was a 1.5 inch smaller waist - makes me very happy in the hope of not having to buy new summer clothes if I can get the old ones on....

50FootWave · 19/04/2021 09:40

Two for me - more than happy with that, as takes me to exactly half a stone to go.

Food today:

B: Cold meat & avocado
L: Tofu & FLGV
D: Chicken & roast veg

3L water + bodypump class today

MilesJuppIsMyBitch · 19/04/2021 09:51

Popping on to log my weight, then will catch up from Saturday.

Three & a half pounds off this week! Takes me back to end of last boot camp weight 🎉

Now the real work begins...

colouringindoors · 19/04/2021 10:05

thanks @venusandmars I'm not very keen on Swede, so have always given it a steer in the past. Will have to be brave...

Keeva2017 · 19/04/2021 10:14

@Random789 such a good analogy with the methadone and heroin!!! What is it about those damn scales!?

Smorgs · 19/04/2021 10:54

Hello
Down 1.3lbs this week which isn't too bad considering I totally fell off the wagon this weekend. So strange because for the first time people are starting to notice I've lost a bit (about 7kg since Feb) and offer compliments so I don't know if mentally that made me feel complacent and that I could bend the rules a bit? Anyway, must make a better effort this week as I still want to lose another 9kg. However, I have now officialy got a healthy BMI so that's a bit of a relief.
School holidays and lockdown here in France so we are trying to get out and about to parks every day to keep activity levels up but I do miss my 2 hour dog walks at a good pace that I manage without kids in term time. Putting them on bikes and trying to keep up seems to work though.
Well done everyone, sorry not to catch up fully, you're very chatty!

BIWI · 19/04/2021 10:55

@Smorgs you're on the wrong thread

ElasticFirecracker · 19/04/2021 11:37

I've lost 3lbs which is good.

I haven't had breakfast today. I just feel so full up that I don't want to eat, and then I had to start work. I still feel completely full up and think it will be hard to face eating anything at all, but I will do my best at lunch and will try to fit in a third meal somehow today.

I felt the same yesterday and I had to force myself to have dinner last night.

Is it normal to feel like this?

Also really struggling with 3 litres of water. I can just about manage 2, but last night had to get up three times to pee.

prettybird · 19/04/2021 11:51

@ElasticFirecracker - come across to the Week 2 thread Smile
