Week 6 - Summer Low Carb Bootcamp - we're racing on!

Morning campers!

Here's the spreadsheet

Some good losses reported already this morning!

Four weeks left, so we could still see a good half stone disappear if we're vigilant.

The hot weather looks like it's disappearing this week, so hopefully anyone still struggling with water retention should find some relief.

But good luck to us all

Great, I have apparently put in 5lbs over night confused. Gives me a loss of 0 this week which is better than a gain!
Not sure what's gone on this week

Morning!
Nothing off for me this week but I think I'm having water weirdness- having another period (3rd since bootcamp started) so holding on to that as a sign that I'm still losing fat

Craftypuss · 26/06/2017 07:33

Exactly the same as last week. Ah well, at least not a gain! Am hoping it's water, and the cooler weather will help - that, and less dairy! I WILL get there. At least I know I'm travelling in the right direction Grin
Enjoy your losses and NSV's, or if nothing else, yummy LCHF food, folks!

swlondonnanny · 26/06/2017 07:35

Morning everyone.
250.4 this morning (-3lbs) could someone please add me to the spreadsheet?
Week 6! Wow... that's gone quite quick

BIWI · 26/06/2017 07:35

@ASDismynormality it isn't possible to gain 5lbs of fat overnight! You've probably eaten/drunk something that's led either to water retention and/or a re-fill of your glycogen stores.

Plenty of water, a strict low carb day and a bit (more) exercise and you'll be fine.

Morning everyone Smile

Hope you all have a good weigh in day, if not have you had any NSV you can focus on?

I'm 4 lbs down which I'm delighted by, hoping to get into the 14 st bracket by the end of BC.

glenthebattleostrich · 26/06/2017 07:39

Morning, thanks for the new thread.

STS this week. Which is better than the 6lb gain I was showing earlier in the week.

Really need to log on to the thread each day and participate more. It really helps me if I log food each day bit life gets in the way.

Food today:

B sausages and cucumber
L tuna with Philadelphia with lettuce and cucumber
D roast fatted topside with a dressed salad.

Lots of water and green tea.

Running tonight, second to last run of couch to 5k. On Wednesday I will run 5km. Then again on Friday morning, just to show off!!

Have a great day everyone, congratulations to those who have lost and KOKO to those who haven't.

Sunborn · 26/06/2017 07:39

Yayyyyy, weighed today at 10 stone 1, which is a 3 pound loss.

If anyone wouldn't mind putting into the spreadsheet, I'd be very grateful.

That's about 8 pounds down this BC (I'm a week behind everyone). I'm determined to get to 9 stone this summer.

ragz134 · 26/06/2017 07:43

1.6lb down this week. Would have been more but we had a BBQ yesterday and although I stuck to low carb I did pig out on meat. Also had a few drinks, but spirits so damage limited.

Good luck everyone weighing in today.

ASDismynormality · 26/06/2017 07:48

Thanks BIWI. The only food I had yesterday which is not an everyday food was soy sauce. Am going to a theme park today so will do a lot of walking and then will start hitting the gym again tomorrow.

OldBooks · 26/06/2017 07:48

Morning everyone! I have stopped weighing till the end of BC, but see attached photo for my progress. Orange bra pic was taken 29 May, black bra was last night Grin I am very chuffed with the visible reduction in tummy!

KOKO everyone, Star for everyone

OldBooks · 26/06/2017 07:49

randomuntrainedcuntowner · 26/06/2017 07:50

I have dropped another 3, so down 9lb in all in 2 weeks - well happy with that!

I have been feeling a bit carb fluey last couple days - nauseous and giddy. Hopefully it will pass soon!

Cherrypi · 26/06/2017 07:50

1.5lb down this week. Pleased with that. Hoping to get into the 12s next week. My weight seemed to be more stable this week, no big fluctuations. Well done everyone.

ilovecherries · 26/06/2017 07:54

I actually weighed yesterday because I'm on my way to Spain :). Another 2lb off, meaning 12.5 this bootcamp. I'm now 14 stone 6 lbs (202), so my aim is to be out of the 200 club by the end of my holiday and showing 13 something by the end of bootcamp. Wont be able to weigh now for a couple of weeks. I was disappointed in week 1 because I didn't have the dramatic loss other people had, but it's amazing how much slow and steady loss can actually happen in only 5 weeks. Have a good day, everyone.

ScoobyDoosTinklyLaugh · 26/06/2017 07:54

2lb gain here - only fair after last weekends antics.

Been good on the low carb front this last week, probably eaten too much (but always do) and had a bottle of red (or two) on the weekend so hopefully the scales will be kinder next week. I'm going to try and report in every day this week and do IF so I see a loss next week.

Its my birthday this weekend and I want to get DP to make me a nice low carb dessert, has anyone got any good ideas?

I'm starting some more Cleaning jobs this week and I've got a 4 hour deep clean today so that's going to be some serious excercise.

ChesterDrawers · 26/06/2017 07:56

Morning all,

1lb off her which I'm pleased about as wine consumption has been quite high. Also feel like AF is on the way so could be a bit of period bloat going on? Although it's more likely to be down to them pesky red peppers Grin

Need to keep wine a bit lower this week. Forgot I was going to cut back on dairy a bit too, and have just had cream in my eggs - oops.

Today looks like this:
B: aforementioned eggs, with the garlic pepper mentioned a few weeks ago. Lovely but I now stink, didn't think it would be quite so garlicky.
L: Tuna with M&S roasted garlic mayo (more garlic!), avocado, salad leaves, olive oil
D: chicken thighs slow cooked in tinned tomatoes, mushrooms, courgette, leeks, shallot and garlic, cauli rice with butter

wombattoo · 26/06/2017 07:56

Good morning all
Sayrra 4lb is fantastic.
I have put on 2lb which I deserved. Blush. I didn't do my ironing yesterday so will be getting on with it now.

Well done on the losses. If you haven't then koko.

Spreadsheet has been updated.

StuntNun · 26/06/2017 08:00

No weight change but I feel slimmer around the upper abdomen. I'm not sure whether it's visible or not?

@ScoobyDoosTinklyLaugh Look at the recipe thread - there are some nice ones there. There's a low carb chocolate mousse/pot that I've made several times that's lovely.

Also, if you can get to a Waitrose, buy some of their Oppo ice-cream - lovely and also low carb.

Ooh yes, with the photos next to each other I can see that I've shrunk just under the boobs. The t-shirt (that I accidentally bought the wrong size but was mail order and I couldn't be bothered to send back) still doesn't quite fit but it looks okay.

YoLoZammo · 26/06/2017 08:04

goodbad asd I weigh more today than I did yesterday! It's just a snapshot in time, and 7 days is no time at all. Weigh again in a couple of days and I bet you will see a different number.

You need to be patient and think of this as the long game. Daily and weekly fluctuations mean nothing when the overall trend over several months or a year is downward.

I say this as a daily weigher because I'm fascinated how my body is reacting to this WOE and weight is just one aspect.

Try and focus on the other positive things you've found in the last 5 weeks. For me it's more energy, no sugar crashes, less tiredness, and smaller clothes fit me.

KOKO namaste bitches Grin

cathyandclare · 26/06/2017 08:13

Wooo Old and Stunt excellent progress on the photos. I've weighed in only 0.2lb down from 2 weeks ago, so 6.6 altogether. However, I definitely think I look better and can see muscles on my arms and tummy that weren't visible before. So, feeling more positive.

For the gin drinkers, I'm not sure if this has been mentioned but I think the Fevertree light tonic is not good for LCHF. It -or the gin kicked me out of keto on the weekend and from googling it appears to have fructose in it, which is bad for triggering an insulin response. Schweppes slimline is the tonic of choice but lots of places don't do it anymore :(

ChesterDrawers · 26/06/2017 08:20

Cathy I realised that once before. It's got quite a few carbs in if I remember rightly. Shame because it's lovely. Seems Schweppes and Britvic (which is vile IMO) are the best ones for LC. If places don't have them I tend to have soda.

Notso · 26/06/2017 08:24

Morning all Smile well done to everyone for losses, NSV's and for keeping at it. My weigh day is Wednesday as I started late.
Something really positive for me is I told DH my weight. Haven't done this since I got down to 10st 10lb after losing two stone at slimming world 10 years ago. He didn't leave me, look horrified or say anything at all really as imagined he would, just was a bit gobsmacked I told him and gave me a huge hug. I really think this will help with my commitment. Also a smaller victory, my fat lass foldover no longer pushes my pants down under it as I go about my day Grin much more comfortable and feel slimmer.

Fasting today so no B
L fathead pizza
D Chilli con carne and salad
Try not to snack during the week apart from the odd and strangely reviving oxo drink.
