Morning campers!

Here's the spreadsheet

Some good losses reported already this morning!

Four weeks left, so we could still see a good half stone disappear if we're vigilant.

The hot weather looks like it's disappearing this week, so hopefully anyone still struggling with water retention should find some relief.

But good luck to us all

Just popping in to thank everyone for your kind thoughts and support regarding my possible marital separation.

It hasn't happened. We were a very strong couple and a lot of life's woes were thrown our way, plus they have been severe mistakes on both our parts. We need to forgive each other and move on, I suppose.

Anyway, it is very kind of you all to listen, and this thread is wonderful for positivity and sharing of problems about emotional eaton, stresses, etc. Focussing on the reasons we do this to ourselves is the most important thing, I believe.

I'm having no trouble staying on plan, really, and about to have a very late dinner of ribeye steak with a bleu cheese sauce, and fresh broccoli & asparagus. Lush.

MOIST · 02/07/2017 21:10

Quick check in

B. Cream coffee
S. Yogurt, cream, berries
L. Fathead pizza
D. Avocado, mozzarella, olives, cucumber

13 hours at work, no break, numerous discharges, baby checks, 1 birth, sore feet and gallons of water.

MOIST · 02/07/2017 21:10

And a G n T and Poldark.

MOIST · 02/07/2017 21:17

And you are all a bloody amazing lot. Really. Be very proud of yourselves

secretsignal · 02/07/2017 21:18

Feeling bloated and heavy tonight; does this look ok?
B: 2 egg omelette with blue cheese, 2 almond milk teas
L: Bacon and halloumi salad with mayo
D: Pan fried salmon and broccoli with marscapone and Parmesan.
It's the cheese isn't it? Writing it down it looks like too much cheese.

Jiminy You wedding food sounds ace and never mind the weight loss I'm sticking around for the wedding dress shopping!

Good weekend and survived my first roast dinner without roast potatoes, did have a little bit of gravy though.

Yesterday:
B bacon & scrambled eggs
L chicken caesar salad
D cod in garlic sauce, runner beans & celeriac mash

Today:
B ham and cheese rollups
L courgetti with prawns
D roast lamb with cauliflower cheese, cabbage and gravy

Just trying to figure out what to take to work tomorrow for lunch, have got salad and avocado, but not much to go with it.

BIWI · 02/07/2017 21:24

@secretsignal - it looks ok to me. The only reason you'd have to drop the dairy is if you're not losing weight

@MOIST you sound knackered Cake Gin Wine

I was overwhelmed by the taste and sweetness. I used to think raspberries were sharp.

veryflumoxed I find even lemons taste sweet since this woe.
When I have a gin and soda, with ice and lemon, I fish the lemon out and suck it and it doesn't taste a bit sharp.
Shows how our tastes have changed.

AdalindSchade · 02/07/2017 21:29

I had a gin and diet tonic today and it tasted awfully sweet.

BIWI · 02/07/2017 21:29

Absolutely! I love Lindt 90% cocoa dark chocolate now, whereas before I started low carbing I couldn't see how anyone could call this chocolate Grin

Moist I've just been pondering over something, am I right in thinking that during pregnancy urine samples are tested for the presence of ketones? And if found, it is a bad thing? What is this all about? Would MWs and drs be unimpressed with lcing during pregnancy? Or am I mistaken?
Not that I plan to become pregnant again for a LONG while! Grin

Jim Wishing your Dad a speedy recovery! Well done you for not succumbing to emotional eating. It would be all too easy to.

Clear. same to you. Glad you've smoothed things over. Flowers

I'm realising just how badly tiredness affects my food choices (or used to.) DS wouldn't sleep until 11pm last night, was wide awake at 5:30am and woke up 4 times inbetween. HmmAngry
I really wanted toast this morning. Then I thought, actually toast isn't that exciting it's just a comfort thing (tea and toast). And if I'm going to cheat it might as well be worth it!
Food today:
Yoghurt, tea and milk (instead of the toast.)
Tuna and avocado salad with mayo
Broccoli, leek and cream cheese soup. Cheese, pate and cucumber.
Strawberries and cream

Baby is asleep, (in his own bed Shock) so I am heading that way myself!

C4pinkwheels · 02/07/2017 21:43

Jiminny I'm hanging around and I hope my GNR support team are as well

Stunt my fussy eater who is now grown up with kids of her own used to eat bucket loads of grapefruit grilled like this - I think she was ten when she realised she'd been duped. Pneumonia is definitely no fun, unfortunately it's no stranger either although this is the first bout since my paralysed diaphragm was diagnosed so I'm fairly confident that this time it won't end with intensive care and months of recovery.

MOIST · 02/07/2017 21:44

Generally ketones aren't great in pregnancy and labour as it shows you are burning off body rather than food. I think.
So if fat it's good. As we want to burn off fat. But if you are needing oodles of energy to grow a baby or push one out it's not great.

styledilemma · 02/07/2017 21:44

Jim Hope things are on the up for your dad.
Clear Glad things are working out for you and DH.
Jimminy the wedding food looks delicious. Good idea about having extra strawberries and cream.

It amazes me how many tearooms and restaurants in general don't have plain old strawberries and cream on their menus! Confused
You can get cream teas, which have cream and jam, and usually a couple of strawberries thrown in, so it would be no hassle for them to throw a couple in a dish for the customer and pour on a drop of cream.
But, I usually get looked at as if I have two heads if I ask for strawberries and cream.
''You mean Pavolova''
No, Strawberries and cream.
''Like Eton Mess''
No, STRAWBERRIES AND %@#@# CREAM! Grin

They're the stupid ones and are missing a trick. There are so many low carbers around now and not everyone wants cake or scones.
Ah well, their loss.

MOIST · 02/07/2017 21:45

That's a v scientific post gin explaination.

I am so doing the GNR with you C4.
I like to think I'll run it then double back and walk the rest with you.

styledilemma · 02/07/2017 21:49

How great would that be! Moist, to do the GNR with ~C4

We could get a group together.
What would we call it?

MOIST · 02/07/2017 21:51

Namaste Bitches Grin

styledilemma · 02/07/2017 21:51

BIWI I haven't tried chocolate yet. I'm a bit scared it will open up a can of worms. I like it that much! Shock
How much chocolate can we eat on this woe? What would you advise?

C4pinkwheels · 02/07/2017 21:51

Cleareyes great news, lots of hard work ahead, been there with DH a few years ago and we decided to stay together. The best tip I can pass on is to have no more than two evenings a week when you discuss the past and the rest of the time focus on the future.

styledilemma · 02/07/2017 21:52

Moist it couldn't be anything else Grin

BIWI · 02/07/2017 21:55

@styledilemma that's an impossible question! If you think it's going to trigger a massive carbfest then obviously you should avoid any chocolate. But if you can cope with a couple of square of high cocoa content chocolate, and find that satisfying, then go with it. There's a lot of science that would tell you that dark chocolate is good for you - so if you restrict it to a couple of squares a day, then go for it! But if it opens the floodgates, then that's not good!

BIWI · 02/07/2017 21:58

@ClearEyesFullHeart sounds like you two are doing well - at least you're talking about it, which - IMVHO - is the crux of the matter.

I challenge anybody who's been married a long time (almost 27 years for me - yikes!) to say that they haven't had problems/issues. And as you progress through different lifestages, adjustment is inevitable and - often - uncomfortable.

Veryflummoxed · 02/07/2017 22:07

Pleased for you Cleareyes
Wedding food looks fantastic Jim and I also will be there in September viewing the bridal wear.

C4 I hope hospital is avoided.

A long busy day meant it was evening before I first ate, hadn't really bothered me but when I did eat it was simply to satisfy my hunger (all good LC leftovers though) so I found myself, as I ate, promising myself a relax with salted nuts and the TV before bed. Telling myself nuts are allowed but knowing that I can not do a few nuts, more like a few bags). At this point a sentence from Oldbooks post on the emotional eating thread popped into my head. If hunger is not the problem, eating is not the solution. So right, so I didn't dig out the nuts from the back of the cupboard. Not only that but I completely ignored the chocolate birthday cake dh made for ds which was freshly cut this evening. Thanks Oldbooks and i can recommend going over to the thread for a complete read of the post.

Veryflummoxed · 02/07/2017 22:14

Oh and I have to confess that my water consumption is way down. I promise to make the effort tomorrow as I'm feeling the thirst but putting off drinking.

styledilemma · 02/07/2017 22:15

I can't believe it'll be Week 7 tomorrow! Shock

and I can't believe I've actually stuck to something for 6 whole weeks!
It's a first for me. I usually give up on things by week 2.
