Week 6 - Summer Low Carb Bootcamp - we're racing on!

Morning campers!

Here's the spreadsheet

Some good losses reported already this morning!

Four weeks left, so we could still see a good half stone disappear if we're vigilant.

The hot weather looks like it's disappearing this week, so hopefully anyone still struggling with water retention should find some relief.

But good luck to us all

Morning all. Well done on the loses and NSVs.
So, I have weighed for the first time since the start of BC. In five weeks I have lost 6.4lbs. I have gone from a BMI of 29.8 to 28.6. I should be happy, but if I'm honest, I'm not. I am 1.2 lbs away from having lost 2 stone since 1st Jan and I am 2.7 lbs away from being 10 stone something. I really want these landmarks, even though I know they are just numbers and the fact I have been feeling great and managing to wear clothes I haven't been able to for a while is much more important.
Oh well, this is why I didn't weigh for 5 weeks. undecided what to do about weighing now. Anyway, koko.

Food today:
B: black coffee
L: tuna mayo, olives, cucumber and flax bread with lots of butter
D: forgot to get mince yesterday, but if I have chance to get some on the way home, then we are having stuffed cabbage casserole.

Mandelinka · 26/06/2017 09:50

Morning all and well done on the losses!
1lb down, total of 6.1 lbs since the start.
I would be really grateful if somebody can add this to the spreadsheet. Thank you.

I am very proud of myself, I didn't expect to make it into week 6! I'm loving everything about this WOE, I feel wonderful, sleep well, clothes fit better, love all the veg/meat/fat/diary/eggs.

I stepped up my excercise, did 4 sessions last week, mix of Shred, 7 min app and running. Also zero alcohol last week. Def NSV for me Grin

Well done everyone. Some great results!

AdalindSchade · 26/06/2017 10:05

captain why are you not happy?
You're half way through and you can easily make those milestones by the end! You should be over the moon!

wombattoo · 26/06/2017 10:17

Captain you have lost 2 stones. There is a lot to be pleased about right there. The loss will slow down as you have been eating this way for a while now. I think you should step away from the scales for a while. Next time you get on - you will have reached your goal Thanks

Jim there difference in those pics is phenomenal Star Star
It's my favourite theme to bang on about, but blimey - if nobody believes me about being able to wear much smaller clothes even when the scales don't move much - those pictures are the proof. Very well done. You must be thrilled Star

C4 Do you want to post your meals? We could look over them until BIWI get chance. I know it's easier said than done, but try not to get disheartened. Your medication could be having an impact.

Giraffeski · 26/06/2017 10:19

Jiminy those pics are amazing! Well done you!

wombattoo · 26/06/2017 10:21

Mandelinka I was going to update the s/s but there is no weight recorded for you for the last few weeks and you haven't said what your actual weight is. If you post it (or pm) I will sort it for you.

wombattoo · 26/06/2017 10:22

Oh and Jim - I hope you haven't actually ordered your wedding dress yet? You may need a completely different one Grin

YoLoZammo · 26/06/2017 10:28

I'm loving the before and after pics, and the KOKO pics!!

I'm not brave enough yet to post pics of myself. I also suspect someone I know very well is on this thread and I've shared too much personal stuff to really out myself Blush. Silly, I know.

I love hearing about the successes whether weight or otherwise. It really motivates me. Some of us have a LOT of weight to lose, so this bc is just the start for me, and for some it isn't the first bc. But it means that we are not just doing it for 10 weeks. It's a whole lifestyle change, which is monumental if you think about it. It will probably take me 2 years to reach my target weight. And a lot of exercise. This is why it is so important to not get dispirited by week to week disappointments.

Thank you everyone for continuing to be so positive and inspiring. I'm so grateful.

And C4 you are doing amazingly. Don't you dare get despondent! You are an inspiration to all of us, and you will do this! Think tortoise rather than hare.

Seriously, when I get miserable with all the joint pains I have, and all my woes in life, I think of how you struggle and how you still find the energy to motivate and support others with wisdom and humour, and I am truly humbled. Goddamn this dust in my eye.

Koko everyone, and we are all here to support each other. I love this bc!!

Can we have an ongoing post bc thread when we reach 10 weeks? I need you lot in my life! Grin

Sorry for long posts. Brevity is not my middle name. Blush

starsky22 · 26/06/2017 10:34

First week of BC for me and I've lost 5lbs! Very pleased, especially as yesterday was a struggle. Went to a fayre and only food available was burgers/sausages in buns, pizza, ice-cream & candyfloss. Was the first time I felt deprived on this WOE and was a bit grumpy about missing out. But I didn't eat any of it and so I'm trying to be positive about that.

Yesterday's meals:
B bacon & scrambled egg
L seabass, prawns, creamy garlic sauce, few salad leaves
D roast chicken with skin, cabbage, broccoli, v. small portion of roasted carrots (swerved the potatoes & parsnips)
S small slice of goats cheese, bite of ham & cheese

Well done on losses & NSV every one.

Oliversmumsarmy · 26/06/2017 10:36

Well done to everyone.

i put on the 3lb i lost last week. ...bummer..

I know you are not supposed to use mfp but I can't trust myself. I like to know exactly how many carbs I have eaten and how many carbs I have got left.

I think I am going to stick on BC for the foreseeable future. I am ok losing weight on 15-25 carbs per day. Any more and I am either sticking or during this week putting weight on.

C4pinkwheels · 26/06/2017 10:41

Ok, I've summoned up all the courage I have and here are some photos of me, including one of me splinted up for walking. I want honest comments please, I think I look fatter in the photo taken yesterday but I know my inner critic is the worst judge of what the reality is. Don't be kind, I can handle the truth

SayrraT · 26/06/2017 10:41

yolo there is always a between BC continuation thread so don't worry about that.

star you could have had a burger without the bun you know.

c4 you've lost 7 lbs in 6 weeks?! That's the perfect amount to lose, how much were you expecting/hoping to lose? Was it realistic?

C4pinkwheels · 26/06/2017 10:44

Sayrra I guess based on my previous experiences of LC eating I would have expected at least 15lb by now.

Well done everyone, Jiminny you look amazing.

SayrraT · 26/06/2017 10:46

Oops, x-posted c4

I think that you have lost weight, look at the left hand side of each picture. You can see you've shrunk there. I think what you are seeing is that your tummy looks different in the 2nd picture. Is it softer? Fat seems to go soft before it whooshes away on this WOE.

wombattoo · 26/06/2017 10:49

C4 I think you have a lovely shape. I do not agree that you look fatter in yesterday's pic.

wombattoo · 26/06/2017 10:50

Yes, I was going to add that your tummy looks squishier is the latest pic.

StuntNun · 26/06/2017 10:50

You can definitely see the difference in the photos C4. If you look just above your knickers you can see how much trimmer you are around the hips. It also looks like you've got lots of "squishy fat" on your tummy now so you've lost fat there but you need to wait for everything else to shrink back in. Definitely not bad progress for a couple of weeks. So glad that I work from home when I'm 2 inches from the monitor screen looking at underwear shots! Grin

TimeIhadaNameChange · 26/06/2017 10:50

C4 you have definitely lost weight - your muffin top is certainly on it's way out. Please, please, please don't get despondent - you are doing brilliantly!

Mandelinka · 26/06/2017 10:52

wombattoo
Thank you so much, you are always so helpful. I had actually 3 weeks of the same weight ( weeks 2,3 and 4), I also weigh normally on Tuesday as started 1 day later.
Starting weight 152.78 lbs, 149,149, 149, 147.7, 146.6 ( today)
Hope it makes sense. Thank you again

StuntNun · 26/06/2017 10:58

I'm now certain that flaxseed doesn't agree with me. I had some of those Snackette crackers last night with cheese. Then I had to get up at 4 a.m. for a drink of water despite having had two pints before bedtime. This morning I was 2lb up on my weight from yesterday. Then I had to come back home mid-school run for the most epic poo of my life. Blush No more flaxseed for me!

hippadoppaloppagorillapig · 26/06/2017 11:07

C4 you definitely look smaller. I'm jealous of your legs.

I'm not weighing. But I am definitely getting smaller, I had to chuck a load of last summer's clothes in the charity pile. I thought I was slim last summer as well! I don't think my actual weight is changing much, but my body shape is.

starsky22 · 26/06/2017 11:12

Sayrra I did think about that, but the burger was £7 Shock and couldn't bring myself to pay that for just the burger! Plus I knew I had a lovely piece of seabass at home if I could just hold out until we got back!

C4 I think your legs look slimmer and your sides too. You have great looking legs by the way!

AdalindSchade · 26/06/2017 11:13

C4 I can see less of a muffin top over your knickers.

I think those that lose loads of weight in the first couple of weeks of LC must be retaining loads of water and therefore get more dramatic losses when they start. If you were already quite steady on your weight then you will only see he fat loss and 7lb fat loss is awesome.
