Morning all!

Here's the Spreadsheet

And The Weight Tracker

Up at silly o'clock to catch a train to Leeds so no time for anything else.

Hope your weigh-in brings you good news. But if it doesn't - don't fall into a pile of biscuits - come and rant about it here!

Just had a plate of green beans roasted in olive oil with salt. Gorgeous dipped in Mayo. Probably left them in a little to long, brown and crunchy. BIWI hope you are feeling better. We need you

Romeyroo · 01/03/2015 15:37

Oh, gosh, yes beautifulthing, CO2 monitor if you don't have one. Sorry, I have one so went straight to the stock cube idea, but CO2 definitely the first thing to check.

My experience is that ANY carbs from sugar at all or processed foods will make me add lbs - this morning I have three extra pounds on, and the only thing I can think of is I had salad out on Friday night and the Mayo must have had lots of sugar. At Christmas, two Eat Natural bars had the same effect. But like you, I am pretty much fluctuating around the same weight and three lbs on is Sad.

Happy St David's Day WOErs! DaffodilDaffodilDaffodilDaffodilDaffodilDaffodilDaffodilDaffodilDaffodilDaffodilDaffodilDaffodilDaffodilDaffodilDaffodilDaffodilDaffodilDaffodilDaffodilDaffodilDaffodilDaffodilDaffodilDaffodilDaffodilDaffodilDaffodilDaffodilDaffodil

Stupid o'clock to be typing, so just SMS.
Today I had:
B - nuffin
L - a lump of cheese
D - turkey breast "kievs" with marvellous ground flax and almond and grana padano and seasoning crumb, with broccoli and beans and swede-and-celeriac mash.

1 glass of red wine spritzer and LOTS of water.

Hoping to be down another lb or 2 tomorrow...

trashcanjunkie · 01/03/2015 16:04

Just had a funny lunch

Four little cubes of Brie, a cube of Red Leicester (in all about a matchbox size portion of cheese)

The same amount of pate. Dp checked the carb count and said it was 4g

Two sausages from the market

A spoonful of pickled onions

A spoonful of cornichons

Both of them well below the carb count so felt they were fine.

And some mayonnaise with chilli sauce mixed through.

It felt wrong.... Like naughty, can anyone shed light on this?

I mean, how do we feel about pate and cornichons generally?

I wonder if it's because it was processed food.....

Breakfast was two boiled eggs and fried mushrooms with a lump of butter.

Dinner is bratwurst (more sausages.... Hmm) with courgette gratin for me and celeriac gratin for dp. The celeriac definitely does stuff bad to me.

Chugging through my water and measured my tea cup. It's half a litre... So that means four cups a day is two litres of liquid! I am properly stingy with the (full fat) milk that goes into it. Under 100g which works out as 10g a day in my tea. It's so much easier to get four litres a day in that way.

NaturalBlondeYeahRight · 01/03/2015 16:22

Come on scales, I need to break this next stone barrier tomorrow. I've bounced around for a month now (started Nov) but I can see the trend, even when I bounce. Got shot of the holiday 3lbs. Downing water like a woman in the Sahara!
Here's my graph, just to show how random the weight loss is.

Week 6 - Low Carb Bootcamp - Part Deux
Romeyroo · 01/03/2015 16:35

Wow, lovely graph, well done! I am definitely bouncing around but not graphed it.

I am making DC quiche for dinner using a mixture of flaxseed and soya flour for the pastry. REALLY tempted to have a small piece with lots of vegConfused but that will probably continue my bounce upwards Confused

LexLoofah · 01/03/2015 17:53

B - omelette using leftover broccoli and cauli cakes from yesterday and courgette. Forgot to say yesterday that the cakes used ground almonds and not worth the carbs really, would have been better just doing the veg mashed with cheese and baked in a big dish in the oven until crispy. Cuppa and BPC

L - more leftovers: lamb Donner from Fri night, lettuce, hm mayo and cucumber. Will have another cuppa and maybe a truffle. Would love some Soreen but it is 63g carbs per 100g! I have 4 big packets as stockpile when I am in the UK- need to find someone to give them to, can't bear to throw them away.

DH is at the pub watching football, hopefully he will be OK carb wise as is with a mate who has been LCing for about 6 months and he looks amazing, lost loads of lbs, at least 10 years younger and with a whole new wardrobe

D will be roast chicken, gravy using cream, veg and off to see what I will do with the celeriac

Mrsstevejones · 01/03/2015 18:41

Slinking in to fess up, whilst ducking big stick!

B- Bpc
L- Pulled pork and 2 burgers in a bun with 2 onion rings
D - Green smoothie

I messed up today as let myself get starving and when hubby tempted me with posh burgers i didnt have the strength to say no.
It was lovely and very fatty and bun was small, in my defence. Learnt a good lesson about not letting myself get starving and being more prepared.

In other news toothache is better and i have found a pair of glasses that i actually although at great expense. Not looking forwards to weigh in tom.

Hope everyone is feeling better and had a good weekend. Loving the graphs, well done everyone.

BIWI · 01/03/2015 19:17

Glad the toothache is better, Mrssteve.

We'll draw a veil over the burger for now, I think! A good lesson learnt.

Trash if you saw my "weight loss" graph now you would see a steady uphill climb over the last, um, seven months or so! I really hope there's going to be a May Bootcamp as I'm gonna need it to shift the baby flab weight. I'm trying to stay low carb but it's hard to get the right balance during pregnancy, I received a minor scolding from the midwife about ketones in my urine so I've upped the carbs again and I'm drinking more water. Speaking of... I'm seriously worried about the hospital food as it was rubbish the last two times I was in and I wasn't even low carb back then. I'll be in for two days and I've packed pork scratchings, Peperamis, macademias, almonds, olives and rice milk in case I fancy a coffee. Is there anything else I could add in? DH will have to sneak some real food in to me, I'm thinking cold chicken legs, and I'm hoping I'll be able to at least get some salad. Maybe I should add a bottle of salad dressing to my stash.

trashcanjunkie · 01/03/2015 20:27

He shouldn't have to sneak it in stunt I had my dp bring food in everyday when I got my foot done, and I took food for dm a few weeks ago quite openly.

Boiled eggs worked very well, and they kept her mayonnaise in the fridge along with her goats milk.

I had a system of little cool bags with those blocks you freeze. We took fresh frozen ones in every day, and swapped them over. Have him bring in yogurts, and berries. Lots of salads, tins of easy open, no drain tuna, so you can have a quick tuna mayo! And I think a bit of really good quality chocolate is imperative after giving birth. Take your self some things to eat off and with too.

Ooh and take your own tea bags and a good flask. The nurses will fill it up for you or there'll be an urn.

Gcalgske · 01/03/2015 20:33

beautiful this website is by the author of Wheat belly, it lists drugs that will block weight loss (even on a low carb/ keto diet). Hope it sheds some light. X

Gcalgske · 01/03/2015 21:24

Ended up a TGI's yesterday with the family (they are super for allergies). Was pleasantly surprised, had a chicken sizzler plate. Was basically a searing hot cast iron plate with two types of cheese melted on )had gone crunchy underneath like a big cheese crisp) with a char grilled chicken breast, onions and peppers on top. Normally comes with cheesy mashed potatoes but they swapped for salad at no charge with oil and vinegar provided to dress. Was tasty and pretty much on plan (if scuppered my 'no dairy') but I did drink two big diet cokes.
I'm really bad at places with free refills :(

StuntNun · 01/03/2015 22:11

Trash the hospital rules are quite strict:

^Visitors are not permitted to bring high risk foods for example, meats, poultry, takeaway food, sandwiches or dairy products into the hospital.
Visitors may bring in low risk foods for example, sweets, juices and biscuits.^

Looks like I'll be standing outside with the smokers to eat my chicken drumsticks. Shock

Mrsstevejones · 01/03/2015 22:15

To burn off those pesky carbs i went for a late night swim to redeem myself. Fingers crossed for weigh tom, good luck everyone. See you in week 7.

Lol at stunt having a crafty chicken leg!!

Gcalgske · 01/03/2015 23:16

Can't see a new thread, so am posting here.

Another 1lb off. Not sure how that happened as I've strayed off the LC path a few times in the past week, but hey, I'm not complaining!

Going to try and up the exercise too. Only spinning once a week and need to do a bit more.

Had a lovely meal in Prezzo yesterday: pork belly, with green beans, mushrooms and butternut squash. It came with pesto mash and I admit I did have a small mouthful. But while my friend had the most enormous sticky toffee pudding I, polishing halo had a coffee.

Breakfast today was a coffee with cream.

Lunch is a cheese and ham salad with mayo

Not sure about dinner yet.

lurkingmurking · 02/03/2015 09:47

2lbs on - totally and utterly deserved!!

Properly back on it today and doing dairy free for at least 3 days and will try not to snack. I got some alpro coconut 'milk' for coffee - will that be ok? It says 2.7g of carbs per 100g.

Food today:

B: 2 eggs fried, mushrooms, avocado, BPC
L: Mousakka (no white sauce or feta)
D: Cabbage balls with green beans

FurFoxAke · 02/03/2015 10:07

Morning all! I'll post here then copy it over when we get a new one.

Still no weight lost, (since I started bootcamp) I am feeling slimmer again though... Confused ummm. Jeans still not quite there... Fuckers. So I'm still waiting for the whoosh fairy to visit me, and that when she finally does, it'll be a good whoosh.

I'm not eating the cocnut thingy anymore (for a bit at least) am dairy free except for a splash of cream in my BPC.
My BPC is next to go. I'll try it decaf fingered first though and am having 3 litres of water plus one mug of buttermint tea.
I'm still doing bootcamp proper really, it's just easier that way, except I'll have about 7/8 nuts sometimes.

I also have the haYfever now. Sad.

mootime · 02/03/2015 10:15

I've had a rubbish week. 4lbs back on again!!!
For milk alternatives I'd go with UNsweetened (not original) almond milk which is only 0.1g / 100g. Far lower carb than anything else and really ok in coffee.

I'm going to get back on the water today, as I think that's my biggest issue. I'm also going to try to start excersizing...

MrsKoala · 02/03/2015 10:22

Thanks again for the graph Sayra. I will have a proper look later when i get a minute.

Trash - my back has some disc issues, they appear to have deflated and now i have no shock absorption. It means walking hurts with every step, as does sneezing, coughing, laughing, and erm, breathing... I need to get a belt as my sacral nerve also is hurting/spasming/doing something . Apparently the cutting and tearing i had in my pelvic floor with ds1 (3rd degree tear) and the c-section i had with ds2 (within 2 yrs of each other) has caused my back muscles to tighten up to protect the discs/spine and now i can barely move (i can't even put ds2 in the jumperoo). It doesn't help that my babies are mutants and off the scale for weight and size and ds1 is a bit like Kato and likes to ambush me by jumping on my head/back when i am not expecting it. Confused

At PILs so eating is difficult, will be lots of cheese and peperamis snaffled in the loo between meals i cannot eat. Last night i had 3 slices of dry beef for dinner as MIL had done roast beef, floury gravy, spuds and carrots.

I have lost 1lb and am super pleased as my body seems to be toning/tightening up (helped by the physio exercises no doubt). My arse feels much firmer (i can't stop stroking it Blush ) and my waist is showing signs of muscle tone. :)

i have ordered the ipd cookbook. Very disappointing to read that India Knight has put the weight on. It kind of tarnishes all of the way of eating for life and how great you feel that she writes about. But i suppose it also proves that it really is the carbs/sweets that ruin all of the hard work and that if you go back to eating like that on a permanent basis then the weight really will pile back on. i shall bear that in mind when i think about maintenance.
