Morning all!

Here's the Spreadsheet

And The Weight Tracker

Up at silly o'clock to catch a train to Leeds so no time for anything else.

Hope your weigh-in brings you good news. But if it doesn't - don't fall into a pile of biscuits - come and rant about it here!

Ah well. Blush I have some sympathy with her there!

Thanks.
I've been aiming for 3 litres a day - usually getting 2.5 - 2.75. It was mince from my butcher so I'm not sure if it was high fat. I fried it in oil. The tuna was in oil. I love OIL! I'm getting nervous of it now though as my head is saying "cut back the calories - it must be too much fat". I'm putting mayo with everything (its a Lidl brand - checked the label, seems OK). Should I put even more mayo everywhere!!!??
Medication - yes AD's
Sleep - OK - small children but they are good sleepers
Stressed - fairly - lots going on in life. Getting stressed about this feckin WOE - I could have enjoyed a lot of nice cake and booze for those extra few pounds.
I must be doing something wrong surely?

Thumbwitch · 01/03/2015 08:45

Well don't I feel stupid. Finally got around to using my flaxseed to do turkey "kiev" (stuffed with Boursin rather than garlic butter) and when I opened the packet, it WAS already ground - it did say "flaxmeal" on the front, I'd just failed to pay attention to what that meant! Blush so hurrah!
And it was lovely!

I'm sleeping very badly at the moment, thanks to going to bed too early then waking up at stupid o'clock - AND I'm not being able to fall asleep properly during the day, even when I do get the chance to have a nap. This is Not Good and is making me, to coin the Aussie phrase, extremely cranky!
It's also making it harder for me to not have the alcohol. I realise the two are likely to be linked (although I've never slept as badly as I am at the moment)

BIWI · 01/03/2015 08:48

I think you're stressing about it too much! Grin

I know it's very easy for me to say that. But just focus on the fact that you have lost almost half a stone.

A quick Google suggests that ADs can be implicated in weight gain, so it could be that this is something you're having to work around. Obviously don't stop taking them.

Cut yourself some slack - focus on the fact that you are eating good, healthy, unprocessed food, and add that extra half a litre of water in - it's only one more large glass.

And if you're really worried about the fat, time to do some reading! To really reassure yourself that it won't make you fat.

Sorry - I haven't updated the spreadsheet as I was 2 weeks ahead and feeling crap. Basically ....
week 1 - 4lbs off
week 2 1lb off
week 3 - llb off
week 4 - 0.5lb off
week 5 - 1lb on
week 6 - 1lb on
week 7 - 0.5 lb on

BIWI · 01/03/2015 09:23

Have you changed anything, beautifulthing?

OP posts:
sassandfaff · 01/03/2015 09:25

Great graph pisses very impressive.

Sorry you are feeling crap biwi

mrsk you sound as good as me at technology. Although I do have apps. Wink

I'm sat here with a tingly eye this morning. Dd2 throw dd3's soft peppa pig and it hit me in the eye. Unfortunately it has a voice box complete with batteries that dd3 is always pulling out, so wasn't sat in the middle of peppa's squishy belly.

It was such a shock and really hurt, that I actually cried. Blush

On a more positive note, I tried the redbush tea today (bought yesterday from lidl) and it is really nice. It says you can add milk, but I didn't think it needed it.

I'm really pleased as it tastes like tea, and I've been unable to have a morning cup because it keeps giving me stomach ache. I think it's the milk. So now I can drink this instead.

I don't bruise very easily so I'm really hoping this doesn't become a shiner.

beautifulthing62 · 01/03/2015 10:18

Changes I can think of.....
I started exercising more - I was already doing 1 spin class and I am now also running a couple of times a week.
I bought some coconut oil and started using that in addition to my usual fat intake. Have been having 1 or 2 BPC's a day.
Those 2 things should be good shouldn't they?
I also had my period around week 7
And around week 5 I had a rather large carb fest at the cinema - pic n mix, popcorn AND ice cream.
Other than that (and I'm not saying I'm perfect) I really really think I have been sticking to the rules. I cut out bread, rice, pasta, sugar etc back in September and launched into the IPD which I've noticed is slightly different to bootcamp but pretty similar. I lost 9 lbs up to Xmas and then put 7lbs back on over Xmas.
Have I fucked my metabolism up?

beautifulthing62 · 01/03/2015 10:19

Oh and.... When I get up in the morning I have a fuzzy head, like a bit of a hangover. Is that normal?

BIWI · 01/03/2015 10:23

No that's not normal! What do you mean by 'fuzzy head' though?

And you can't have fucked your metabolism up - unless you have been a lifelong dieter, switching from one diet to another, or you've been doing a very low calorie diet?

Your exercise is likely to be one contributing factor - so the key thing is to ask you if your shape has changed? Are your clothes fitting better? The scales are a very rough guide to what's going on - if you're building muscle, it's denser than fat so you might weigh more according to the scales but look slimmer.

Can I ask about edamame beans? They are only 1.5 carb per 100g so should be ok? But I know we generally avoid beans. Are they ok?

Romeyroo · 01/03/2015 10:30

Fuzzy head - I get this sometimes, Try drinking a stock cube diluted in water; this works for me. Sorry jumped in at end of thread, if not relevant, ignore

beautifulthing62 · 01/03/2015 10:34

I'm not a lifelong dieter although I did do WW and SW after I had the kiddies. I was v. overweight as a child but shifted a couple of stone through healthy eating and exercise in my teens. Always been a size 14 or there abouts. I can feel I've lost a little weight but I'm feeling pretty chunky around the tummy. In the first week of BC and IPD I definitely felt less bloated. It's hard to explain but I don't feel 'slim' IYKWIM.
The fuzzy head is like a bleary, woolly headache. Not when I wake up, but when I get moving. I start getting the water down me as soon as I can but I just feel hungover for a good hour or so (without all the benefits of a boozy night!!). It feels like its in the front of my head.
I don't want to give this up as I like this WOE but I don't want to gain any more poundage.
Thanks for listening

BIWI · 01/03/2015 11:14

Yule where did you get the carb count from? That seems very low - Googling would suggest that it's higher than that, although they do seem to be under 4g carbs per 100g from what I can gather, so they are probably OK!

beautiful try Romey's suggestion - sounds like you could have an electrolyte issue going on there. You need salt (cook with it/add it to your food), try drinking a hot drink made from Oxo or Bovril or Marmite. You also need magnesium and potassium - spinach, salmon, avocado and full fat natural yoghurt are all good sources.

OP posts:
Yuleloglatte · 01/03/2015 11:22

Biwi, that's the count on the actual packet - it's the same on the ocado website. Would be fab if they were ok!

BIWI · 01/03/2015 11:29

Sounds good then!

BIWI · 01/03/2015 11:32

Just be aware that it is a controversial thing to eat:

this is worth having a read

fitflopqueen · 01/03/2015 11:34

Am still here, haven't updated for 2 weeks as laptop is sort of dying, will try later, think I am slightly up at 166lb since last update.
I am not doing sufficient exercise! Will try and improve this week coming.

Yuleloglatte · 01/03/2015 11:39

I'm not going to go mad! But it's nice to have a few options - and unprocessed they seem to have some positive things going for them.

Thanks :)

BitchyDoesWitchyThings · 01/03/2015 13:18

I often wake up with a fuzzy head but we have a problem with our central heating and it often decides to cook us alive. I have also had issues with co2 poisioning in the past and it feels similar. So I would check that and then add more water. when it is just a heating issue fresh air and extra water is the solution. I will be glad when the heating is fixed but at it is an intermitant fault it is hard to pin an exact cause down and of course it never plays up when the mechanic is here to fix it Hmm

BitchyDoesWitchyThings · 01/03/2015 13:19

*CO poisoning

In short CO monitor and more water.

trashcanjunkie · 01/03/2015 13:33

beautifulthing I know from my own experience that a blowout like you mentioned will bugger me up for weeks

Example...

This bc I have been in the zone right up to Valentine's Day. Then we had an off piste meal and a few cocktails. The next week I was six pounds up, and it has taken me the rest of boot camp to a) get out of the 'fuck it' zone, and b) lose that bloody six pounds.

My dp on the other hand, still lost that week. In my opinion, because he is a cunt. Grin but seriously, I know that I'm really carb sensitive. It's a bugger.

In previous bc I've sts, then lost seven lbs in a week, then sts for ages, so I can go in fits and starts, and it was stuntnun who showed us her loss graph, which differs massively from pisses. Hers goes up down up down, but over the months the trend is down.

I think ultimately, you know this works, but you have to try and be patient, and know there will be times when for seemingly no reason you have little gains. As long as over the long run your still down, you're winning.

MindfulBear · 01/03/2015 13:54

sorry not posted for ages. have been thinking about you all! and i am still losing, although I have added more fruit now (controversial I know!). I am down 7kgs since Christmas so I cannot complain!

have a good weekend all
