Morning all!

Welcome to the second (or third if you didn't ubercamp) week of Bootcamp

Here's the Spreadsheet of Fabulousness

And the Weight Tracker

I'm off to Leicester this morning, and won't be back until tomorrow evening, and no idea how much access I'll have to wifi/broadband, so apologies for any radio silence!

Hope you all had a good weekend, and here's to a good week

Stayed the same this week.

May have sabotaged myself today as we were out and the only thing to eat was sausage in ciabatta rolls. I ate 2 sausage and about an 1/8th of the roll. No idea how carby the sausages were. Cross with myself but I was starving.

Can I eat smoked mackerel?

sassandfaff · 05/08/2014 18:17

I've eaten

Breakfast. 4 scrambled eggs with spinach and butter

Lunch. Tuna in oil with rocket tomatoes and cucumber

Dinner. Sausage casserole (onions leeks mushrooms) with cauliflower rice.

I'm stuffed too.

Oh and 1 piece of 85% chocolate. Grin

sassandfaff · 05/08/2014 18:36

I'll just add that, that was the first time I've had 4 eggs! I normally have 2 if I fry and 3 scrambled, but I was very hungry.....

Can anyone link the weight tracker again? The one in the op takes me to Godaddy.com

Thanks

Feeling really really rotten.

Started making an omelette, but binned it before it was finished. Just not hungry. Feel blurgh.

Had a BPC instead, will see if I can face real food later. Hmm

Firsttimer7259 · 06/08/2014 11:17

Did 30DS again today - love that it's so short but effective. I've finally settled into lc - not scoffing endlessly. Not feeling lethargic. Maybe the exercise is helping maybe just that after 2 weeks it feels easier. Hoping for good weigh in. Was really pleased w how I ate yesterday and think will eat well today again. Long may this continue!!
B - egg coffee w cream
L - pork and broccoli
D - pork and lettuce

Snacks; coffee w cream, celery olives

BestIsWest · 06/08/2014 11:42

Off out for a walk on the beach then a late lunch at Frankie and Bennies. Any ideas what I can eat?

herecomesthsun · 06/08/2014 12:09

calamari and salad or steak and salad?

Birdinacage · 06/08/2014 12:22

I'm feeling happy today as the holiday gain has disappeared and I'm back to where I was before we went away, I was expecting it to take longer to lose so it was a nice surprise to stand on the scales and see those extra pounds had vanished this morning Smile.

Hello all - not taking part in this Bootcamp, because there is too much going on in my life right now and I need to focus on getting through it. But I was in the last Bootcamp and it really helped, and I am maintaining now.

In case any of you have questions about low carbing and blood sugar issues, I wanted to share my recent results. I was diagnosed with Type II diabetes just about 3 months ago, and I lost 16 lbs on Bootcamp. But the fantastic news is that my A1C blood results (long term blood sugar levels) have gone down to within normal, although still high. My various bad cholesterol levels have also fallen, which was the thing I was wondering about, in view of adding the fats to my diet - but we know they are good fats - and my good cholesterol level is holding.

Thank you BIWI and Stuntnun - and everybody for you support. I am maintaining my weight, and keeping to the principles of Bootcamp, with one or two minor "treats". And I will be back after I get through this difficult time, to join an upcoming Bootcamp as I have plenty more to loose.

If it is ok with you all, I might hang out here from time to time to say hi and be inspired.

Firsttimer7259 · 06/08/2014 14:39

Excellent news spamm and really interesting for me as my cholesterol levels are elevated - genetic thing in parts of my family. Im considering getting a test done to see how blood fats are doing on this new diet. Is there a minimum number of months you should keep lowcarb before testing at all? I know my docs will be horrified - I was given leaflets with guidelines limiting eggs, butter, red meat. Im thinking of testing once Im in at least 6 months with at least 3 months of reg exercise behind me but cant remember if these are random figures I dreamt up or something I read somewhere.

wombat22 · 06/08/2014 17:46

Hello spamm and well done on maintaining. Your results are good news. Hope things in your life sort themselves out.

B: Pork steak with hm mayo, BPC
L: Chicken thigh cooked with coconut out, courgette, shallot and cauli
D: Spicy Pork loin fried in olive oil with salad of shredded cabbage etc, hm mayo

StuntNun · 06/08/2014 17:48

There can be a temporary rise in cholesterol when you start LC First. I'd wait until 6-8 weeks in. When I had my lipid profile tested my HDL and LDL had both gone up a little and my triglycerides were practically zero. So my total cholesterol was a little higher (by 0.4) but my overall profile and the ratios were improved.

pregnantpause · 06/08/2014 17:53

I failed miserably today. Prod that however cheesy failing to plan is planning to fail. I took the children and their friends to the farm, thinking it would be okay, they'll have something for me. The menu was sandwiches or jacket potatoes. I had a beef sandwich, which I took the beef out of, intending to just eat that. But after five hours running around the farm with four dc and no water I was starving and gave in. Then the lady behind the counter took a liking to me and the girls ( well I actually think she saw how stressed I was and took pity ) and she brought me tea and scones on the house. You all know what happened next Confused

But I won't let it curb me. Low low carb for the next few days ( even at nephews birthday party tomorrow )

SchroSawMargeryDaw · 06/08/2014 18:03

Haven't eaten yet but dinner will be:

Chinese chicken thighs
Spicy mayo wings
a burger, port salou, ranch and some salad
mushroom stuffed with stilton and leek.

Seems a lot but it is all I will eat today.

pregnantpause · 06/08/2014 18:22

Proof not prod

SayraT · 06/08/2014 19:13

Not much to report today except I am feeling so tired and keep yawning Shock

SchroSawMargeryDaw · 06/08/2014 19:15

Dinner was amazing.

2 Chinese chicken thighs
5 spicy mayo wings (teeny ones)
a burger with melted port salou
Portobello mushroom stuffed with stilton and leek
little bit of salad and some le roule on top.

Noticing there's a bit too much cheese there but it wasn't in huge quantities.

NigellasGuest · 06/08/2014 19:19

checking in

BestIsWest · 06/08/2014 19:25

B- Lidl yoghurt with berries
L - burger with mayo and salad. DS ate the bun.
D -cheese omelette cooked in butter.

I have some whipped cream for a treat for later when I am watching Bakeoff.

3 cups of tea and 2 litres of water so far.

ImATotJeSuisUneTot · 06/08/2014 20:18

Ok. Impromptu visit to the seaside tomorrow, on the train. Will try my hardest, but I think my water intake will suffer the most.

ImATotJeSuisUneTot · 06/08/2014 20:34

Why am I watching bake off?

I must be mad!!!! Grin

questions2008 · 06/08/2014 20:54

haha Iam that's funny! If anyone needs to bake something I can vouch for this Chocolate Pecan Torte although I've never tried it with pecan, I just subbed it with ground almonds. I've made this twice (once for a dinner party and served it to unsuspecting non-LCers Grin who loved it). Thought I'd cut up into smallish squares and freeze so once in a while I can have a "treat" or for breakfast on a sunday with my coffee.

Today scales were showing a further 1lb loss so some movement at least...

B- 2 fried eggs & black coffee
L - chicken breast and spinach cooked in lots of butter, with some cheese melted into spinach
D - smoked salmon, bit of mozzarella, basil and salad leaves (very small portion as i thought id have dinner later but after that i didn't feel hungry again)
