just wondering if this has been done before...

I have 2 Dcs (2 & 5) and am bringing them up by myself (H allowed to have phone contact only due to his fuck wittery {I love that phrase Blush Grin})

Sometimes its soooo hard doing it by myself Sad

DS had parents evening today and although his comments from teachers were fab most all of the other parents were couples.

Sometimes it hits me that I have to do everything myself Sad

Let us know what he says tomorrow ?!

Grin re. your parents evening..

Where is that bH?? I need the details Grin

simpson · 17/03/2011 21:43

maybe her date is tonight Grin Grin

Forgot to say DD had her allergy testing this morning which went ok and she is not allergic to anything but they did say she is one of the worst cases of food intolerances that they hav seen for a long time

She has been referred to chelsea & westminster hosp fo more tests....

OP posts:
Jellykat · 17/03/2011 22:24

Ah, i don't quite get that.. isn't an allergic reaction, your body reacting to not tolerating certain foods? IYSWIM.. If she has food intolerances, what happens when she eats them?..

Am i being really dim ?

simpson · 17/03/2011 22:28

basically if you are allergic then her skin would have reacted to having it put on her arm today iyswim

Basically she gets horrific diarrea (sp) which goes on for weeks Sad and excema. She did het a rash on her face from soya too Sad Basically her gut cannot tolerate the food Sad

But its not life threatening like an allergy can be...

OP posts:
Jellykat · 17/03/2011 22:37

But isn't having a rash on her face from soya, an allergic reaction ?

I'm just trying to distinguish the differences.Smile

DS2 is allergic to Penicillin,it was discovered when he was 2..very scarily!

boxingHelena · 17/03/2011 23:10

Simpson what's happening with your dd? does it manifest itself as atopic dermatitis?
Has she been put on a special diet anyway?

JK you go and fight your battle (bring primitive club along maybe?)

ref my date...
still the one off dating site
we have not spoken that much or too in depth - not sure is good or bad - I have seen enough pictures and blog, so I trust he is at least a real person.... but who knows...
I am sure I will feel nervous closer to the date (next we) so expect panicking and self doubt soon Grin

simpson · 17/03/2011 23:15

JK - I would have thought she was allergic to soya too tbh Confused

BH - she gets a spcial formula milk to drink on prescription and her diet is dairy, soya, oats & barley free atm Sad

Exciting on the dating thing!!! Grin

Going to give the internet dating thing a go when my divorce is through I think Smile

Rant alert!!

H has just rung to speak to DC and he was drunk Shock

I refusd to put DC on phone and said he had had a drink which he denied etc blaming me for being "paranoid" etc but then finally in the end he confessed and said he had had a couple of Wine while watching some wrestling on tv Hmm

I hav to confess I called him every name under the sun and put the phone down on him Blush

Told DS he would not be talking to daddy for a while and DS said that he did not like daddy much anymore anyway Sad

FFS now I am all wound up Angry Had a lovely after noon meeting with two friends and all our kids, now this Angry

luckily my best friend is on her way for an emergency cuppa/chat etc Smile

OP posts:
Jellykat · 18/03/2011 19:02

simpson, I'm glad you called him every name under the sun.. if you don't tell him he's being a dickhead, he'll think it's fine to keep behaving like one.

You know that regardless of distance, his DC should be his priority and they aren't it seems, maybe one day when he's grown up eh? (if)

It sounds like your DS is sussing it now Sad

I'm glad your friend came over Smile

simpson · 18/03/2011 19:53

JK - I think he thinks I will just calm down and it will all be fogotten iyswim.

This soooo not going to happen this time, I have fucking had enough Angry

OP posts:
Jellykat · 18/03/2011 20:23

If he doesn't sort himself out, it will get worse as your DC get older..constant broken promises and let downs, a great example of 'how to be a father' for your DC to carry through to adulthood..

Put your foot down good and proper simps!

simpson · 18/03/2011 20:28

Just pisss me off that he cannot even stay sober for a 2min weekly phone call Angry

Don't even know if he is coming over as I put the phone down before finding out

I have still got the text mssages on my mobile from the last time he did this (2mths ago) saying "sorry, I give you my word it will never happn again" etc...

He is such a wanker Angry

My friend has just left and I have had a good old moan/chat with her Grin

OP posts:
Jellykat · 18/03/2011 21:10

He obviously has a bad drink problem. Your DC don't need to be involved with that!

Oh simpson, have you read poor Edgars' heartbreaking thread..so so unbelievably shocking.I wish my boys were at home.Sad

simpson · 18/03/2011 21:13

which thread is that??

Just had a chat with DS about his daddy bfore he went to bed and said he could talk to me about daddy any tim he wantd to etc especially if he feels sad but that he won't be able to see/spak to him for a while but did emphasise it was not his (ds's) fault iyswim.

I asked him if he was Sad about it and he said "not that much" Shock

OP posts:
Jellykat · 18/03/2011 21:46

You'll have to play it by ear, make sure DS isn't just saying what he thinks you might 'like' to hear.Sorry that sounds incredibly patronising- i don't mean to be! I agree open communication to see how your DS is feeling is important, you know what your doing simps.

I have to admit it was a relief last Christmas, to finally be able to 'slag off' DS1s dad with him, after waiting for 22 years!

I'm afraid Edgars thread has been moved from health to bereavement today by MNHQ.

simpson · 18/03/2011 22:36

such awful news for poor edgar Sad

Makes us appreciate what we have.

Makes me Angry that H is throwing it all away Angry when other people would give anything to have just 5mins with a child they have lost Sad

OP posts:
Jellykat · 18/03/2011 22:49

My thoughts exactly simps !

simpson · 18/03/2011 22:58

the good (if you can call it that) news is that when I spoke to DS about his dad, he was just shrugging shoulders and saying "well I don't really want to talk to him but I will if I have to/can" kind of thing so I don't think he is putting anything on for me iyswim or trying to make me feel better either....

He is just saying "what will be will be attitude" iyswim.

Kind of makes me strongr in my resolve to be the best parent for him and DD to make up for their tosser of a father

Just got to decide whether to say anything to his teacher about this at parents eve next wk.....

OP posts:
Jellykat · 18/03/2011 23:23

Aah well that sounds relaxed, TBH apart from the weekly phone call, he doesn't see dad much does he?-what twice a year? so realistically its more the 'idea' of who dad is, then the reality, isn't it..IYSWIM

simpson · 18/03/2011 23:28

JK - exactly although he used to see his dad maybe every 12wks when we first split up.

Now he has not seen him for nearly 7mths Shock

Wonder what H will do now??? Will he text me, or just hope he can call DC nxt fri

OP posts:
Jellykat · 18/03/2011 23:39

He can't presume to ring as per usual next week can he? you hung up on him - mind you if he's paralytic by now, he may not remember that..Hmm

simpson · 18/03/2011 23:43

He probably will tbh but he will be put right by me!! Grin Grin

Thank fuck I had already made solicitors appt (before his phone call) for next fri to push on with divorce Grin

Have just totally depressed myself, been browsing dating websites... now it's not that i'm fussy you understand..but for chrissakes! Confused

Why oh why did XP have to turn out to be such a wankmiester?? At least we liked the same loud music, had laughs, were the same height, smoked and didn't want anymore DC..

I am dooooooomed, time for Wine

You'll have more luck simpson, you're not in Wales for a start Grin

simpson · 19/03/2011 22:42

PMSL atWales Grin although I was born there...

Don't say dating websites are bad Sad that is what I am holding out for once my divorce comes through....

My best friend wants me to go out dancing with her next weekend to cheer me up but no babysitter Sad

Cannot ask my mum as she is having DD for 5 days when I go to Italy and also when I have a works re-union on 7th May.

Think I am doomed to spend my life alone, time for more Wine

Still not heard anything from H Hmm

I just cheered myself up by downloading some happy tunes onto my Ipod Grin

I want to hear more about BH's date, when, where, whats he like etc
