just wondering if this has been done before...

I have 2 Dcs (2 & 5) and am bringing them up by myself (H allowed to have phone contact only due to his fuck wittery {I love that phrase Blush Grin})

Sometimes its soooo hard doing it by myself Sad

DS had parents evening today and although his comments from teachers were fab most all of the other parents were couples.

Sometimes it hits me that I have to do everything myself Sad

gl simpson :D

*opens caramel cake bars

I went to the pub to celebrate last night and ended up in tears because I DIDN'T have any pressure to be home and cook ,clean change nappies and find dummies....

Jellykat · 26/02/2011 17:00

Excellent simpson! Have a good time Grin

That is kind of logical i guess beingsetup, our DC being the main focus of our lives,it's easy to feel a bit lost when they're not around, especially if being without them doesn't happen too often!

simpson · 26/02/2011 18:15

My night out is off Sad Sad

Both my friends have got the same sickness bug Sad and I don't know th others well enough to go without my friends iyswim....

And I have no DC either Sad

Oh well, guess I am on the Wine tonight at home....

Don't mind staying in tbh as I get a nice lie in tomorow morning and to watch what I want to tonight etc but just don't know when I will get another chance to get out

Although I have got Italy to look forward to Grin

iwillmakeit · 26/02/2011 20:47

Hi simpson, not been to say hello to you all for ages.

So sorry you didnt get to go out tonight, the amount of times that happens!

Had to cancel my night last night as I was stuck 70miles away with a broken car and 3 little ones to get home. We got home in style on the back of a breakdown truck just before midnight.

Wine is making the mounting costs of getting it fixed less hideous!

simpson · 27/02/2011 12:51

Having a bad day so far Sad

Just fucking fed up of doing everything while H swans about being able to go out etc whenever he wants to while I have sleepness nights over whether I can keep a roof over DCs heads Angry

I cannot see the future getting any better either Sad

Must paste a smile on my face as DC due back soon...

Oh simpson Sad..Hope the day get's better..

He might be having a shit life you never know,he's crap with money and obviously skint, you've said he drinks a lot so he can't be happy.. We always imagine they're living the life of riley, but it ain't necessarily so!..At least we have our priorities right, when the DC are older they'll see what it was all about, believe me i know because DS1 is 22, and we talk about lot's! Smile

You've got Italy to look forward to,keep focused on that for now,and then it'll be Summer.. Smile

beingsetup · 27/02/2011 20:59

Ty jelly and good luck simpson keep a smile on your face it does make you feel happier, trust me I know

Jellykat · 27/02/2011 21:04

Hi beingsetup Smile

JFTO..I'm here if ya need me!

So today i went on a free trial, on a dating website, spent 30 mins filling out my profile..bearing in mind i'm 5ft 11,artistic and have a degree in Fashion..they found me a match- A 5ft 8 farmer!! I think it was a case of 'Sorry love, this is your only option'..

I absolutely have to laugh!or i'm buggered.. Grin

JustForThisOne · 27/02/2011 21:58

ha ha that's sounds promising Grin
I got matched to mister x, just as well, as I could not find anything myself!
still with my track record better to trust ''the site'' than my own tastes maybe?

ps: cheers JK

Jellykat · 27/02/2011 22:08

Hmm i can't say i'm convinced..I cannot do a 5ft 8 farmer Grin i just can't...

Mind you JFTO, this was on a different site to yours',i'm still holding out for Mr 'hasn't logged in since November' on that one.. I have all the time in the world..

JustForThisOne · 27/02/2011 22:11

cant blame you JK
not very bucolic myself

Jellykat · 27/02/2011 22:40

Builders' on the other hand.. Wink

God i live in a dreamworld don't i??
I'll shut up now..Night

simpson · 01/03/2011 18:30

If I didn'tlaugh I would cry Sad

DC got a clothes parcel today (sent over from MIL in Ireland who is horrid)for the DC.

There is a top I kid you not that had "I have the best dad" written on it Angry Shock for DD....

It went straight in the bin Grin

Went to toddler group today and not sure I will bother going again tbh.

Maybe its because I am feeling a bit sensitive atm Blush but a convasation about DCs cooking started and I said that by age 10 (lady talking had DS who is 10) I wanted DS to be cooking one meal a wk ie something easy tinned soup &toast to help me out etc...

You would just think I had admitted to beating my children or something!!

Lots of "oh no its too dangerous" etc. Made me feel really shit Sad

Then I said I had got DS's name down for the local beavers group but hoped the uniform was not pricey etc and I might look on amazon/ebay for 2nd hand one...

Cue lots of Shock faces "oh no I like little Myrtle to have everything brand new" etc...

I have to say these people are normally good freinds but I guess I am now realising that I have very little in common with them without a partner etc Sad

Jellykat · 01/03/2011 19:16

Just what you needed!..

(I have just PMSL at the T shirt tho'..)

What a bunch of snobs! What's wrong with secoundhand for christsakes??..And my DS2 cooks' lovely bacon buttys', and has done for years.

Ignore, ignore, ignore! their stupid ways, they just don't get it...It certainly doesn't mean they're any better then you because they have more money Smile

simpson · 01/03/2011 21:21

I am just pissed off at myself for letting them get to me tbh Blush

Ok, I have just got DD's top out of the bin and it actually says "my daddy loves me" Hmm

Cannot beleive she had the nerve to send it tbh Hmm

OP posts:
Jellykat · 01/03/2011 21:42

Re T shirt-give it a wash, then put it in right at the bottom of the drawer, and forget about it..it'll be too small by the time you find it again Grin

We all have those days-i nearly burst into tears because someone didn't wave 'Hello' at me this morning!..Confused.. Stooopid me!

boxingHelena · 01/03/2011 21:56

Simps is quite normal to get affected even if you know they are been horrid or at least very superficial... I would not go back either to be honest. I have put myself thru stuff like that, tried to mingle with people I had nothing in common for the sake of children/company but then I thought...sod it!
Who needs that crap Smile
hemm like my new dress? Grin

boxingHelena · 01/03/2011 21:58

forgot...
not sure the back ground Simps but the T-shirt msg... around here ... evokes feelings of Shock

simpson · 01/03/2011 22:49

BH - have messaged you Grin

Pity DD is now toilet trained otherwise T shirt could have gone with her pooey nappies Grin

WRT to toddler group DD loves it and we have been going there since she was 8mths old and I took DS there when he was little too....

Will have to see how brave I am next week Smile

Good news is that DS is now on waiting list for beavers and will start in spt, he is sooooo excited Grin
