just wondering if this has been done before...

I have 2 Dcs (2 & 5) and am bringing them up by myself (H allowed to have phone contact only due to his fuck wittery {I love that phrase Blush Grin})

Sometimes its soooo hard doing it by myself Sad

DS had parents evening today and although his comments from teachers were fab most all of the other parents were couples.

Sometimes it hits me that I have to do everything myself Sad

Thankyou ladies for your posts. I'm a LP with an 11 month old and today officially lost the plot. Days of snow and ice, trying to shop, keep warm, keep sane... The more stressed and lonely I get, the more my baby winges somehow. So I needed to winge to someone! Today I had to shut the poor kid in the living room whilst she screamed cause I couldn't listen to her anymore and I had to shovel snow outside. The GUILT! I'm considering getting a job just so I get a break. Major guilt! I'm beginning to hate my coupled friends who moan about how hard it is only being able to go to one yoga class a week. No one understands what it's like unless they're doing it. So thank god for all of you. Xmas Grin

simpson · 04/12/2010 22:11

Theconstantgardener - I get what you mean on the food thing.

I like to cook (although not very good at it Blush) and sometimes its just too much effort to cook a nice meal for myself so I end up eating same as DC ie fishfingers & chips etc....

May I join you?

Today I cried because I couldn't get my car out safely in this stupid weather so DD and I had to spend another day at home.

I work full time and DD(3) is usually at nursery. She has been at home all week and I have had to work all day from home (thank you, arse boss, who says the right things but doesn't actually give a shit) and try to look after DD who has watched far too much tv this week. I am exhausted and all I wanted to do was just go out for a very little while.

I just want my crappy normal life back - the life that I thought was so shit two weeks ago now seems like a dream compared to the last week.

On a happier note, I have been asked out for the first time in I don't know how long so, if the snow clears, I may actually get to go out, in the evening, with a grown up. Woohoo!

simpson · 04/12/2010 22:26

jingle - woo hoo on the date!!!

I have been stuck at home for the last week as DD (2) has chicken pox. It has been driving me sloooowly insane Blush

There has been too much shouting in our house today, from all of us Sad Angry.

I had to have time off work in the week to look after DD and I loved being a temporary SAHM and not tearing my hair out. I got to chat to people and catch up on stuff. Back to work next week Sad. Shouldn't complain about having a job (even if it is a bit crap) but I don't like working with 2 pre-schoolers to juggle all the time. .

Meglet · 04/12/2010 22:32

oh, you're all going mad being stuck at home Blush.

The grass is always greener isn't it Smile

simpson · 04/12/2010 22:40

meglet - especially when all my Fb friends are arranging a night out (tonight) and I can't go... Sad

I've just realised I don't remember the last time we had fish fingers!

simpson · 04/12/2010 23:27

We eat fish fingers a lot Blush But DD is severely intolerant to dairy, soya & oats so it does not leave much else Sad

TBH I do love the feeling of locking the door at night knowing its just my little family iyswim.

But I don't think I want it for the rest of my life iyswim

I'm just terribly old fashioned and tight!

I do all my own baking as well - but I'm a full time carer, I have to fill my time somehow whilst the tax payers subsidise my wild exciting lifestyle..

simpson · 06/12/2010 20:23

Bugger, looks like I am going to be stuck inside for a bit longer as DS (5) had a few spots on his tummy this eve Sad

Its his first ever Xmas nativity tom Sad

iwillmakeit, drop me a message, would be good to chat. I know Harlow a bit and its not far. Thanks!

lucie19 · 07/12/2010 00:02

jumping in here too. Tonight my car ran out of petrol and with no one to ring to say help both DS had to trapse in the freezing cold to the petrol station and back, I just had an overwhelming moment of I need someone to help me please! Anyway on the bright side because we were so late home we had fish and chips for tea (couldn't afford it but after that thought what the hell)
Its just so lonely coping with everything on your own sometimes sigh

iwillmakeit · 07/12/2010 20:46

Well to make you all laugh imagine the scene... me sunday morning stuck in the freezing loft with a HUGE tree caught on the ladder below me. Took me 10mins to force it down and escape!!
But its up now and look very pretty with all the baubles on one side (ds2) Xmas Grin

simpson · 07/12/2010 21:04

iwillmakeit - I had an almost identical situation!! Although I managed to get the tree down ok, I could not for the life of me get the ladder up Hmm

DD (2) today could not get her doll in her toy highchair and she said "fucking thing"

Blush Blush

And I have nobody else to blame but myself, oops....

lucie - yum to fish & chips Grin

well, i sent DS to school today and managed to see him in his nativity play as he seemed ok and showed no signs of it this morning....

But this eve the spots have really started to come up Sad So he won't be going tomorrow.

I just hope he is well enough for his class Xmas party on Monday as he has been counting the sleeps etc....

Plan B is to have a little party here on sunday with a few of my friends kids roughly same age as mine all of whom have has the pox already.
