Hi all, can't believe I have to start the new thread

Slng, lol @ ds2!

Sfx, sparkle sounds nice!

I'm having to bribe ds1 to leave the house atm, that can't be right surely

He had his nativity yesterday, all lines remembered though there was a bit of yawning during it

sfxmum · 05/12/2009 14:05

had not noticed the thread had filled up

Tilly well done ds1 ours is Thursday and Friday

our tree is up dd thinks it needs far more tinsel than I have in the house

managed to go running this morning, so slow! serves me right for barely any miles over the past 3 weeks

sfxmum · 06/12/2009 14:48

hello all

thanks for last night, sorry some of you could not make it, lovely merry time it was

and some people just can't hear no and bring free drinks anyway - that might be an endorsement of the place

managed to stay in bed until very late this morning but spent a fair chunk of the night attending to the coughs and blocked noses and general unsettled sleep of the family

now dealing with the laundry how very glamorous

hope everyone is well today

slng · 06/12/2009 18:50

Hello!

Glad everyone had a nice time last night. While you were getting ready to go out I was sitting with two kids in a 1-hour traffic jam on Kew Road, with DS2 periodically pointing to the walls next to us and annoucing "that's Kew Gardens"... Luckily the kids just entertained themselves by doing God-knows-what.

sfx - we didn't have coughs but had DS1 crying about how painful his leg was. But he was fine in the morning... It's very mysterious, this pain-in-the-leg business.

We have a cute little Xmas tree from the pound shop. It is over-decorated with only a few things on it ...

tillyfernackerpants · 06/12/2009 20:53

hi all,

slng, sympathies on the traffic jam, I was stuck in one today at the same place. Ended up getting off & walking home (laden down with xmas presents) & still beat the bus home!

had a lovely time last night, hope everyone made it home ok. Pcw/vbus, let me know how much I owe for the taxi!

Hello!

What dismal weather eh? Will it snow?

Off to pick up kids armed with chestnut cookies ...

tillyfernackerpants · 07/12/2009 14:59

Sounds delicious slng!

Am a bit worried, we seem to have lost people since Saturday night

OP posts:
sfxmum · 07/12/2009 15:02

hello all

slng yum chestnut love it must make soup soon

not lost tilly just on playdate after spending most of the morning shopping for presents

TheWorldFamousKewcumber · 07/12/2009 16:43

so how long were you reprobates out without me?

SFx - would be nice to go to achool Xmas fair so get us tickets if you can.

slng · 07/12/2009 16:51

Bored bored bored. Too much work stuff. Feel like shouting at people who leave things till last minute and then I have to make the deadline. Another reason why it is better NOT to work with other people.

DS2 bopping about beating people with a large balloon. DS1 not impressed.

sfxmum · 07/12/2009 17:15

slng dh says much the same almost everyday (not the balloon bit)

KC - will do.
had chat with a mum today about a certain nativity play '...and there was this King with the loudest voice ever, and at some point he went over to one of the teachers and said I am BORED....' familiar?

TheWorldFamousKewcumber · 07/12/2009 20:35

oh lordy - can't believe his fame is spreading do you know who's mum it was?

slng · 07/12/2009 20:54

Kew

TheWorldFamousKewcumber · 07/12/2009 21:29

please have a look at this thread www.mumsnet.com/Talk/primary/869085-ds-is-not-good-at-art-now-becoming-noticeable-help?msgid=1777730 8 - its hilarious - surely a windup?!

slng · 07/12/2009 21:55

Watching strangely compelling program about games on BBC4. Got completely stumped by DS1's Category&Category=4RUSHFAN&ProductId=5000 traffic jam game earlier though ...

Kew - I did see that thread. It's hilarious.
By the way you forgot to send me details of your DS's birthday party, you bad person. On the other hand DS1 was ill so we couldn't have made it anyway...

slng · 07/12/2009 21:56

This one.

vbus · 08/12/2009 11:07

Hello all

Tilly - not lost just out and about, parties, coffee mornings, general tiredness etc. You can square up cab fare with PCW.

Lovely night out on Saturday, nice to see those of you who made it. Even DS2 slept through for the occasion

Sfx - if you could pick up earring, mucho aprpeciated

Have the day off tom from nursery, what to do...?

dustythedolphin · 08/12/2009 11:36

Oh here you all are!!

Lovely to see some of you the other night, it was great fun - 'specially when the waiters eavsdropped

tillyfernackerpants · 08/12/2009 11:58

vbus, glad ds2 slept through on Saturday, how has he been since?

dusty, yes I think the waiters appeared to be v interested in our conversations

All my plans for today have been cancelled, don't know what to do now!

OP posts:
stepfordwife · 08/12/2009 12:39

.....mooncups? outdoor sex?...worst of all, a liking for celine dion songs? what conversation were the waiters eaves dropping on?
do share with the rest of the class....

sfxmum · 08/12/2009 12:53

hello all

steppie no idea what waiters were interested in convo seemed quite innocuous

KC saw that thread loony/ poor kid is my considered judgement, not much into modern art is she?

vbus will do but not until Fri or Sat as otherwise the restaurant does not open until 6pm. hope sleep trend continued

slng what a traffic horror but that road is always bad

tilly is it a quite day?

I have disgraced myself at school by providing tights for sheep outfit, apparently they have to be barefoot on stage, it has been remedied now, and I did not realise that the school wide Christmas dinner would be at 11am today instead of usual lunchtime, which is why we out, so had to go home and rustle up a packed lunch

watched The Hurt Locker directed by Kathryn Bigelow - very good film about war, not preachy

tillyfernackerpants · 08/12/2009 13:05

it is a quiet day now, will probably pop to the library after ds2 wakes up. Unless it rains, then I can't face getting soaked again!

Sfx, also meant to say I've started reading the Sookie Stackhouse books. Quite good, don't know how they compare to the series yet as haven't started watching it!

OP posts:
sfxmum · 08/12/2009 13:38

tilly I have the first one but have not read it yet, my niece says the series does not follow the books at all, it is based on and takes general stuff but they are quite independent and the fate of some characters is quite different from book to series

dd is tired so will stay in for the rest of the afternoon wrapping presents and writing cards

vbus · 08/12/2009 14:36

Sfx - that's fine, thanks!

Tilly - tooth #8 finally poked through so DS2 seems in a much better mood,(til next one arrives!) At least he now has something to show for past few weeks misery How is your DS2?

TheWorldFamousKewcumber · 08/12/2009 15:55

Steppie - no idea what conversations the waiters were eavesdropping on, I have no idea what they are talking about, it certainly wasn't anything I was saying which was mostly about knitting.

tillyfernackerpants · 08/12/2009 17:10

kew lol

vbus, ds2 is fine now also, though tooth hasn't come through yet!
