Hi all, can't believe I have to start the new thread

Slng, lol @ ds2!

Sfx, sparkle sounds nice!

I'm having to bribe ds1 to leave the house atm, that can't be right surely

He had his nativity yesterday, all lines remembered though there was a bit of yawning during it

OP posts:
sfxmum · 26/03/2010 21:01

and thanks vbus the plan is to run tomorrow afternoon

Kewcumber · 27/03/2010 07:58

the day is looking up already - we got offered a place at our first choice primary so DS will be at school with minisfx

Who else is getting school places today?

I know sushi didn't think she would get their first choice (too far away) but you never know.

tillyfernackerpants · 27/03/2010 08:43

Congratulations Kew. We have to wait until 22 April to find out! Keeping fingers crossed for Sushi

OP posts:
sfxmum · 27/03/2010 09:22

yeah Kew I am sure he will love it
what are the news on the CP front?

tillyfernackerpants · 27/03/2010 09:33

Sfx/Copper, have you seen this

Just realised we've nearly filled this thread!

OP posts:
sfxmum · 27/03/2010 09:48

oh yes I plan on doing the recipe and watch out for the thread but not bake along at least not until Thursday when school is out

Weather not looking great

Kewcumber · 27/03/2010 10:07

pretty sure its CP more spots this morning and one of his close friends at nursery started spots yesterday too.

Sushi hasn't got first choice primary.

Kewcumber · 27/03/2010 10:09

22nd April seems late I thought most coucnils announced around end of March. How about Vbus - when does she hear?

sfxmum · 27/03/2010 10:13

shame about Sushi 2nd choice still good but might be worth waiting although I hear just over half of the class are siblings far more than last year

kewcumber hope it is a mild case of CP, dd has been escaping that even having been in close contact with infected children

am trying to decide my 10k route for later or tomorrow and trying to avoid road running but seems impossible

Kewcumber · 27/03/2010 11:09

better and better - handbag been handed in...

UptoapointLordCopper · 27/03/2010 11:32

We don't hear about primary school till 30th.

Kew - good news re handbag!

Very exciting HCB baking! But not free on Monday and also going to try the beer and tea HCB.

mellow2 · 27/03/2010 15:54

Thanks for the reminder about primary school places - Copper. Gulp! Wish us luck.

sfxmum · 27/03/2010 17:39

hello done my MN relay thingy 10k feel better now

good luck with school places for those who don't know yet

Kewcumber · 27/03/2010 22:24

well done on the 10K thingie

dustythedolphin · 27/03/2010 23:18

Well done SFX!!!

Lordy all the angst about schools was one of the main reasons we left the country!!!

Sushi - did you get 2nd choice?
Kew

Hope everyone gets their choice of school

mellow2 · 28/03/2010 08:04

Well done sfx! You shall be known from now on as my friend the marathon runner.

As for me, I went to a new yoga class yesterday. It was very good but I came back feeling quite sick/ nauseated. I am so out of shape.

tillyfernackerpants · 28/03/2010 09:55

Well done sfx!

Some idiot decided it was a good idea to start fireworks at 1am . It was so loud as the noise just bounces off all the houses, even woke up the ds's who usually sleep through stuff like that!

OP posts:
UptoapointLordCopper · 28/03/2010 19:23

Hello!

Cycled to nearby pub and nearly fell off bike on the way home, after just two G&T, and now have achy legs. Must get back into practice.

Baked the beer and tea HCBs and they are lovely. DS2 is not having any though, since he doesn't like raisins.

vbus · 28/03/2010 20:20

Hello all

KC - that's great news about school We got our 1st choice too, woo hoo!

Sushi - are you on waiting list for 1st choice?

Sfx - well done on race, hope you enjoyed it

Dusty - go on start a new trend, tell the mums they don't what they've been missing

Tilly - how annoying re: fireworks

Copper - ouch!

Well I have survived 3 consecutive nights of socialising (didn't get to bed til 2am last night ) Funny how you don't go out for ages then three nights come along at the same time. Have deffo been on go slow today

sfxmum · 28/03/2010 20:55

hello all

tilly what horrible people

lordcopper ouchie

vbus it is as if you are young again
and congrats on school

thanks for the encouragement on running, it was ok, actually ended up doing 7miles instead of 6 something for 10k but rather slowly (over 1hr)

still makes me want to go further and faster it has re booted my training, hopefully

dd has massive shiner on forehead, from fall at party but she seems ok I might not sleep well worrying about any possible concussion it looks really bad

sfxmum · 28/03/2010 20:57

mellow might try a marathon before I am 50 on the senior category
a half sounds more doable

Kewcumber · 28/03/2010 21:06

I think sushi will probably answer for herself but I can't resist saying that it looks like things (although not first choice) may work out OK for them. She'll know nest week I think.

Someone she knows didn;t get either 1st 2nd or 3rd choice but a completely different school mind you they did apply the the three most oversubscribed schools in the area.

SFX apparently people closer than you on the estate didn't get in!

sfxmum · 28/03/2010 21:18

yes I heard that, spoke to sushi today, it is the sibling rule over half the class qualifies on those grounds not much left over

I think Marshgate got extra places and slightly expanded the catchment area

dustythedolphin · 28/03/2010 22:15

Will there be any bulge classes in Sept? There were eight across the borough in Sept 2009 to accomodate all the extra kids (some of which would have gone to private schools, pre-recession)

Vbus your social life

Tilly that's horrible. I got woken last night by what sounded like 30 cats yowling

dustythedolphin · 28/03/2010 22:17

sorry , "some of whom, not some of which"
