Hi all, can't believe I have to start the new thread

Slng, lol @ ds2!

Sfx, sparkle sounds nice!

I'm having to bribe ds1 to leave the house atm, that can't be right surely

He had his nativity yesterday, all lines remembered though there was a bit of yawning during it

OP posts:
tillyfernackerpants · 11/12/2009 20:31

sushi - how awful [anger]

sfx/vbus, glad the nativities went well, they are so cute!

Dh out on his work's xmas do tonight, he's "kindly" offered our spare bed to someone

But I'm wrapping xmas presents, with wine & chocolates so not all too bad

OP posts:
slng · 11/12/2009 20:55

Yum! I make pretty good bread, even if I say so myself.

Tinned soup a bit indifferent though. Never mind. There is lemon drizzle cake.

tillyfernackerpants · 12/12/2009 08:51

morning all,

I didn't get very far on present wrapping last night, oh well!

What's everyone up to today? Dh off playing golf as that's better for a hangover than playing with the ds's apparently.

OP posts:
vbus · 12/12/2009 09:13

Sushi - that is dreadful news, any update? for your bro

Tilly - did that mean more too much time on wine and choc and not enough on wrapping?

Sfx - glad you enjoyed play, awww. It is DS1 who wants to meet JC, I'm sure they'd have a whale of time chatting about cars. He even does a mean impression of JC

Slng - how was the cake?

Exhausted, not much sleep here, next round of teething has begun. IL's about to descend. DS1 has 3 xmas parties this week, it's going to be a mad week I can feel it in my bones, better batten down the hatches

sfxmum · 12/12/2009 11:36

hello all

vbus let us hope it is a phase, JC

slng keep a record and balance it out
am sure the baking was delicious

tilly drinking wine and eating chocolate is an all involving activity in its own right, surely?

went to school thing last night, seems my stuff sold well, dd got even more tired than she was and went into cranky meltdown when we left

drunk too much last night woke up late went running - not bad

dh now off to work must entertain child

dustythedolphin · 12/12/2009 16:39

Vbus, wait till its three parties in one day, two kids, three locations

slng · 12/12/2009 19:50

Hello all!

Been to concert where DS1 "played" the violin, DS2 refused to go on stage, and everyone sang. Then to lunch at friends' and very nice walk around very nice park. Exhausted now but things to get ready for FIL visit tomorrow.

vbus - best lemon drizzle cake ever, even if I say so myself. New year's resolution: must be more modest.

Does JC stand for what I think it stands for?

sfxmum · 12/12/2009 20:08

I have not done a lemon drizzle in ages but was planning on a pineapple and coconut sometime soon just to try the recipe, although it sounds more like a Summer cake

slng · 12/12/2009 21:14

Did this minus the icing. It's a perfect cake.

slng · 13/12/2009 19:07

Hello all!

How is everybody?

Had visitors all day. Exhausted.

sfxmum · 13/12/2009 19:14

hello

hope everyone is well

slng cake sounds great, want to make a polenta rosemary and lemon cake but my lot don't appreciate such efforts

really quiet weekend catching up on sleep while dh had to work both days
it will start getting quite busy but at least both dh and dd finish their work/school
can't wait we all need to spend time together relaxing

sfxmum · 13/12/2009 19:15

meant finish on the the 18th

dustythedolphin · 13/12/2009 19:21

SFX/Slng we've been moving furniture round all day

Glad you got some rest SFX I am always willing to appreciate your cakes you know!

Our Dcs break up on 22nd

Met with school best friend from 30 years ago last night again, whose family come from the village we are moving to. She knows one of thye families in the school that the Dcs are moving to. Small world!

We are leaving 1 January and have just booked hotel in Limerick for that night...all seems very real now....

TheWorldFamousKewcumber · 13/12/2009 22:23

We had pre-Xmas with whole family as sister is off to india for Xmas. Mum and I gave DS a few small presents so he had something to open (my sister very generously gave him £50 which I banked but that doesn't really cut it when you're 4).

Mum gave him a BEN10 watch, he has no idea who Ben10 is other than "big boys" watch him and its a proper working watch not a "tend" watch.

Bless him - I have persuaded him to take it off to go to bed but only by placing it within arms reach! Oh to be four again.

sfxmum · 14/12/2009 13:10

hello all

pretty nice start to the week hoping rest of week ok

hope everyone is well

pcworld · 14/12/2009 13:53

Good grief auntie, I can't believe you are off in a matter of weeks! Sounds like you are very organised. What an exciting start to the new year! When do you start your new job?

Everyone appears to be better here - at last - so am looking forward to a good week and school finishing on Friday, hurrah! Must get to see Father Christmas at Kew next week.

tillyfernackerpants · 14/12/2009 15:24

Hi all, hope everyone's ok

pcw, glad the dcs are getting better. Hope that's all over with now for a couple of years at least!

We've been to Kew today after school, was lovely & quiet! Ds1 didn't want to see Santa but he did have a go on the carousel, and we managed to avoid C&C which was a bonus

OP posts:
pcworld · 14/12/2009 16:13

Sounds lovely, Tilly - also the choc chip shortbread and hot choccie - yum! Nearly texted you this morning re: the playgroup but ended up heading to the library and out for a muddy walk, not feeling like going too far in this cold weather! Might try toy library tomorrow tho.

sfxmum · 14/12/2009 16:42

pcW good news illnesses are gone

tilly sounds lovely

these days dd seems to tired after school we have not been to Kew in ages

dolphin sounds exciting and tiring all at the same time - there might be time for cake

KC Ben10 is big with big boys so sweet keeping it within arms reach

am horribly behind with course but the timetable allows for 2 weeks off over Christmas, will give me a chance to catch up

very amused at the tittle girl from Outnumbered winning a comedy award she is so cute

trying to summon sympathy for Berlusconi and failing - maybe he will go away now

dustythedolphin · 14/12/2009 17:02

SFX agree re that horrid Italian man and also please don't let the study spoil your Christmas

Do you fancy a run on Sunday? I now have RUNNING shoes, thanks to your advice and I went to that shop in Sheen - they were very helpful and all round fabulous

PC so glad all are better now

Kew, perhaps you can put the £60 towards his first DS Lite

sfxmum · 14/12/2009 21:24

dusty glad you enjoyed the shopping experience they are quite good - what did you get?

I have some great Brooks Adrenaline and Saucony pro grid which are just right for me

about running on Sunday I can in the afternoon
say 2.30? do you want to try Richmond park?

stepfordwife · 15/12/2009 12:30

hello everyone
hope you're all well and surviving tinned festive musak (pet hate).

dusty - what a mammoth multi-task. can't believe you're going so soon! txted you last week to meet up for a cuppa but know you've been mega-busy. (er, or you don't like me ). maybe something stronger would be better anyways...

sfx, yes, loving that little girl getting the award. she's fab.

saw boys' play yesterday (bread seller and spice seller/narrator respectively) - and got dd as an all-singing, all-dancing snowflake tomorrow. very cute according to dh and mil who went today.

went to see a serious man with dh. very funny, loved it was all "unknowns." but had a power nap for first 10 minutes or so as had just had a large glass of wine and pizza in about half-an-hour flat beforehand.

back to work...
sigh

stepfordwife · 15/12/2009 12:32

..oh, sorry to be a pain, but could someone please email me our contacts list.
Many TIA

stepfordwife · 15/12/2009 12:37

and, sushisorry, meant to say, that is so for your brother and your family.
any update?

kew,...yes, maybe he's a tad young for the worship of ben10 just yet but, when the time comes, embrace and enjoy...the next step will be the strange, confusing world of pokemon

dustythedolphin · 15/12/2009 13:46

SFX no idea what they are but will show you, I just know they are white with pink bits

Actually can't do Sunday as DH working Will think of something else...another time
