Hello! Nothing to report. Very tired after another work do last night. And work and work and work till Thursday and then it's holidays! But deadlines in January ... trying not to think about those ...

Snow!

hello all

yes it has been snowing since about 9 when I went for a walk after drop off
dd will be super excited

can't wait for school to be over
tomorrow they have a party and they are supposed to go in party clothes just how I will convince her to wear proper warm clothes I have no idea

We have mufti day tomorrow too. Luckily DS1's idea of dressing up is to wear his trainers instead of school shoes.

Also supposed to bring in "small amount" of food or drinks to be shared. What is a "small amount"? 6 cupcakes? 12 cupcakes?

Context: we have lovely chocolate cupcakes. Do I give them all to the grubby kids, or do I keep some for the important people, ie me?

don't give them away, currently baking truckloads of oatmeal and raisin cookies

just so I don't worry about how many to give away

we are debating tights versus trousers now
am losing

OK. 6 cupcakes then.

Now off to DS2's nursery party ...

dh took dd to school have been studying since, and what a depressing subject it is, all about children in care, problems with attachment, generations of families in care, fostering etc

• must rush through this just found self tearing up at some stories

anyway more snow on the way and only one more school day HURRAH

SFX the outcomes for children in care are very low in this country, its very depressing I agree ((hugs))

Not sure I can do 9am run on Saturday, as have to be uptown with DC at 11am so not sure it will work. Will have a wee think...

We may not have school tomorrow if there is "snow on the ground". I ask you. Sometimes this world of school is beyond my comprehension, and I always thought I was reasonably clever ... Note to self: revise opinion of self.

It's because of 'elf and safety, you see. Must consider the teachers, you see.
Luckily I've gone in a sulk and refuse to work till the new year, so it won't matter much whether school is on or not.

ours is open lots of snow in the playground and delighted children skating around
