Hi all, can't believe I have to start the new thread

Slng, lol @ ds2!

Sfx, sparkle sounds nice!

I'm having to bribe ds1 to leave the house atm, that can't be right surely

He had his nativity yesterday, all lines remembered though there was a bit of yawning during it

OP posts:
slng · 08/12/2009 17:50

So tired ... Kids had pancakes for tea, eaten in 15 minutes. What to do now until bath time?

vbus · 08/12/2009 17:56

Slng - bring bath forward and have a really long bath!

KC -

Tilly - glad DS2 is better

sfxmum · 08/12/2009 18:37

pancakes for tea yum makes me crave blueberry pancakes with banana and maple syrup and that is just mean

slng · 08/12/2009 19:40

Kids had brie and grapes wrapped in pancakes for mains and banana and honey wrapped in pancakes for pud. Does sound a bit decadent ... but quite healthy since I stuck a bit of wholemeal flour in the pancake I only had a bite - not enough. Should have made more and eat some myself - I was so hungry that I was quite grumpy and told them to shut up and stop complaining and just sleep when they were in bed ...

dustythedolphin · 08/12/2009 22:53

PMSL Kew!

Packing saga continues (to paraphrase Slng 3 months ago)...

dustythedolphin · 08/12/2009 22:54

sfxmum · 09/12/2009 12:39

slng · 09/12/2009 17:50

Hello!

DS1 had Christmas concert this morning. Took DS2 along, who announced quite loudly "when can we go home?" To be fair it was quite boring since we were at the back and couldn't see a thing apart from other parents' bottoms - at least the bottoms of those ones who stood up to take video/pictures.

Still in office ...

dustythedolphin · 09/12/2009 18:56

Slng we had DD's nativity today too, I told the selfish gits parents in front to sit down because they kept popping up with their blimmin' cameras. The headteacher was brill and suggested that ppl actually enjoy the nativity and cherish the memories of what they see, rather than spend the entire play fiddling with their technology

Felt emotional as we've been at school 6 yrs now and its the last nativity (tho new school have gorgeous ones too) I will be present at

have sooooooooooooooo much to do, had to drive to Hendon last night to buy 2nd car (rural so have to have two cars so DH can get to shops during day when I'm at work)

All bonkers mad activity trtying to get ready here to emigrate here at Green Towers

vbus · 09/12/2009 20:00

Hello all

Dusty - must be crazy getting everything ready for your move, I hope all is going well though

We have Xmas play tom, can't wait!

Slng - pancakes sound lovely

Took Ds1 to get his Noel Gallagher mop top chopped off, then went to Kingston, he loved looking at all the lights and displays. Nice to see Christmas through his eyes an dit's teh first year that's he's really excited and curious about Christmas

I quite fancied going to the gluwein stall but did not trust myself to get puschair & Dc back home in one piece so gave it a miss...

tillyfernackerpants · 09/12/2009 20:32

vbus, enjoy the play! Kingston is nice atm, I was there on Sunday (fortunately without the ds's).

We've just found out we can buy dvd's of ds1's nativity for £2.50!

Dusty, good luck with the packing, how's it going?

OP posts:
sfxmum · 09/12/2009 20:41

dusty good luck with packing make sure there is plenty of chocolate and some alcohol about at all times I find it helps with most things

we have the nativity play tomorrow, dh will attend, and Friday when I will
don't like that gadget mediated experience one or two photos should be enough
they do a dvd at our school as well

meeting the new teacher tomorrow who by all accounts is lovely, she was the first ever teacher at the school and is adored by all apparently

slng · 10/12/2009 11:04

Hello!

Lovely day, isn't it? But must work work work.

We don't have DVDs for school christmas play. Imagine the possibility of boring relatives to death when they come to visit! Perhaps I should suggest it to school. Another weapon in the arsenal of how to discourage visitors.
Having said that, the school band and choir is quite good ...

sfxmum · 10/12/2009 14:23

apparently no dvd here either nor pics of performance allowed, just a pic of child after the play - who knew?

baking frenzy here, hope it sells tomorrow

hope everyone is well

tillyfernackerpants · 10/12/2009 14:44

We were only allowed to take photos afterwards as well, but they did have a teacher filming it. It didn't stop loads of parents sneakily filming their own though!

OP posts:
dustythedolphin · 10/12/2009 18:04

We had DVD filming and pushy parents filming

DD looked stunning as a King/Wise person in a huge blue satin turban

Just realising how humungus moving jobs/houses/countries/schools all at the same time really is and amazed that Quokka did it so calmly when she flew off

I think its having a house full of decorators EVERY DAY which is making its feel topsy turvey, though cleaner did a wonderful job yesterday of putting everything back in order yesterday and making it look lovely again (tho only a matter of time until decorators create more painty chaos)

sfxmum · 10/12/2009 18:39

shedloads of choc chip cookies

dusty it is amazing isn't it? can't even contemplate the idea of moving before I am able to afford someone who can do it for me

vbus · 10/12/2009 19:15

Hello all

Sfx - pass one over then how did teacher meet go? Is old teacher leaving then?

Dusty - hang in there, just take one day at a time

Nativity was lovely, super duper cute. LOL at dvd's on sale, I just took a pic and only filmed Ds1's song. We then had mince pies and tea and spontaneously went out for lunch. Then back home for a playdate, been an enjoyable but pretty full on day.

DH is now at River Cottage meeting Hugh!

sfxmum · 10/12/2009 21:15

vbus - no they will do job share, I did not go to coffee morning, dh did as he was staying for the performance

now have a chocolate orange cake and bags of choc chip cookies all ready for tomorrow

can't wait for performance, dh managed to get a couple of pics of dd in costume

SushiMummy · 11/12/2009 08:23

Good morning everyone. What a foggy morning!

Just found out SIL left my DB with their DS. She has left the country and DB is devastated.

dustythedolphin · 11/12/2009 10:17

Yum SFX
Slng!! I never understand women who can leave their children..not being judgemental but I just couldn't do it

TheWorldFamousKewcumber · 11/12/2009 10:18

thats so sad Sushi. How old is his DS? Has she gone back to Russia?

SushiMummy · 11/12/2009 10:49

dusty/KC: SIL took their DS to Russia without saying anything to DB. She even took my DB's passport with her (so that he can not come after her soon). Their son is 5.8 and my DS adores him and was so looking forward to seeing him in Japan. (I haven't told DS but he will be so upset.) I knew things weren't going great (I saw them in Tokyo last month) but no idea how bad it was.

DB rang her and she said he must give her money (lots) if he wants to see their DS.

sfxmum · 11/12/2009 11:02

Sushi that is despicable, unless the father is a danger to the child, using children like that is criminal, imo, I do hope he gets it sorted - so sorry

vbus just as long as your dh stays away that Clarkson fellow Hugh is ok

watched the play left goodies at school for fair, they were all smelling the chocolate orange cake

got bit tearful so cute and adorable, they did it only with reception yr1&2 the bigger ones have separate show

hope everyone ok

slng · 11/12/2009 19:41

sushi -

sfx - Hugh is chums with David can't-lock-a-bike-up Cameron, is he not? Highly dubious.

Had lovely tea at friend's house with the children. Will have tinned soup and buttermilk baps for supper later. Meanwhile, port while I set exams. Unless there is something good on telly.
