Hi all, can't believe I have to start the new thread

Slng, lol @ ds2!

Sfx, sparkle sounds nice!

I'm having to bribe ds1 to leave the house atm, that can't be right surely

He had his nativity yesterday, all lines remembered though there was a bit of yawning during it

DS2 has ringworm! Managed to see GP and got cream so it's all under control. Half my working day gone ... Shall I just give up this work malarky? Tempting.

SushiMummy · 29/03/2010 13:41

Hi all. As you can imagine I'm completely stressed out. I will tell you all about the school situation when everything is crystal clear, maybe in a few days, I hope. I feel like screaming! Aaaaarrrrghhh!

Hope everyone is well.

tillyfernackerpants · 29/03/2010 14:38

sushi, hope it all works out for you [fingers crossed]

vbus, I would be of your 3 nights in a row but I just don't think I could manage it any more

Ds1 is resisting all attempts to catch chicken pox!! He's been playing with dcs at school who've come down with it and his body just refuses to catch it!!

OP posts:
sfxmum · 29/03/2010 14:51

hello all

lordcopper hope he recovers and no to leaving work am sort of desperate to go back, which might colour my answer

sushi am sure it will be fine in the end, but wish schooling choices were not so fraught

tilly dd seems to be the same re CP nothing so far even with considerable contact at nursery and with friends

been pampering self this morning at hairdressers some shopping and quick lunch with dh in town, now will just sort some stuff around the house and cook dinner while dh pucks up dd and takes her swimming
the life of a housewife

tillyfernackerpants · 29/03/2010 14:52

sfx, maybe you should take up some tennis lessons or something?

OP posts:
sfxmum · 29/03/2010 15:06

kinda depends on the quality of the instructors nod nod wink wink so 80's

UptoapointLordCopper · 29/03/2010 19:04

I have washed about half the soft toys we have in the house (the other half bagged and to be washed), and DS2's bedding, and now contemplating changing DS1's bedding. Have also cut the hair of the two wriggliest children in the world. And baked a soda bread and cheese biscuits for kids' tea. I am officially exhausted.

We get school place letter tomorrow (letter sent out today, apparently), and if you applied online (which we did) you can check the result online. TOMORROW.

UptoapointLordCopper · 29/03/2010 19:07

Bedraggled lions are quite funny.

tillyfernackerpants · 29/03/2010 20:15

Copper, I think you can check online around 7am though, rather than waiting for the postman to arrive. Or that's how Hounslow Council sold applying online to us! Good luck!!

OP posts:
sfxmum · 29/03/2010 20:20

we had the same here and for some people the letter arrived on the same day the results were online but not for all

seems electoral campaign is well under way, our MP was at the school gates this morning chatting to parents and distributing assorted merchandise and leaflets

UptoapointLordCopper · 29/03/2010 20:24

I don't remember my password. Or username. Or anything, really.

Hopefully postie will be early.

Campaigning starts, does it? Nobody will come to talk to us, but I will bring rotten tomatoes with me to school just in case.

UptoapointLordCopper · 30/03/2010 08:03

They sent an email! at unprecedented efficiency. We got the right school. Phew!

sfxmum · 30/03/2010 10:10

good to hear lordcopper

this weather is getting me down

best get on with stuff

tillyfernackerpants · 30/03/2010 12:39

congratulations Copper!

Sfx, at least it seems to be brightening up now!

OP posts:
UptoapointLordCopper · 30/03/2010 14:24

It's pouring down here.

Left work early to get DS2 who apparently was "not himself" in nursery. He is now upstairs doing goodness-knows-what but pretty normal things...

Kewcumber · 30/03/2010 19:07

Ooh-er, off to Mumsnet Towers now...

sfxmum · 31/03/2010 11:25

how are you all doing on this cold and wet morning?

kewcumber how was it?

it is Green day at school today, lots of green things going on. apparently

UptoapointLordCopper · 31/03/2010 15:58

Hello.

Very exhausted. But birthday party later on.

sfx - colour green or environmentally friendly stuff?

Kew - tell all.

We are ready for a holiday now.

Kewcumber · 31/03/2010 17:04

oh blimey - it was very interesting but a little more public than I had realised - apparently in the Times this saturday (pictures and all... )

sfxmum · 31/03/2010 18:18

lordcopper both they had guest speakers on sustainability and elected 'green officers' in each class, also met new Headteacher nice man but looked a tad overwhelmed by very friendly parents

kewcumber MN is celebville now check you out!

mellow2 · 31/03/2010 19:21

Kew, Copper and vbus - congrats!

We got 1st choice school for dd.

vbus · 31/03/2010 21:04

Great news Mellow and Slng

Sorry not been on much, Dh camped out in spare rm as he's got some fluey type virus. I've been avoiding the 'sick bay' but pc is in there too. He's been hogging pc when not asleep as he's wfh (although he's meant to be resting so he's get better in time for our hols next wk )

Hope everyone well

KC - get you

pcworld · 31/03/2010 21:14

Oh flip, so I shall have to forgo the Sat Guardian in favour of the Times, then? Will look forward to seeing the article!

Good news to hear that most of you got first-choice school places.

Not much happening over here other than dh recovering from man flu, me recovering from tonsilitis, ds in the throes of a bad cold so in grotty form. He will be 2 on Friday, where has my baby gone?!

Last day of school tomorrow, hurrah! Probably won't be saying "hurrah" in a week's time when I have run out of entertainment ideas

dustythedolphin · 31/03/2010 22:08

Is it snowing there too? was snowing in Galway today

Kew can't wait to read about you in the Times on Sat

Glad most ppl got their school of choice and good luck to any who didn't

DS2 has 1st ever haircut on Friday and am bracing myself for him having his curls cut off Will ask for a Beatles haircut as a compromise...

Hope the weather improves for the weekend

Kewcumber · 31/03/2010 23:25

I'm kind of sorry I mentioned it now [cringe]
