Sushi - what does the open day entail - is it worth taking DS?

SushiMummy · 26/02/2009 13:07

sfx -

KC - well if you like free food (well snack really), drinks and some fun stuff like face painting and bouncy castle thing then yes it's worth paying a visit. I'll check if the bouncy castle will be there, if yes, we'll be there.

FriarKewcumber · 26/02/2009 15:21

free food is good, though DS will think face paints are better.

mygreatauntgriselda · 26/02/2009 16:45

SFX sorry you are feeling so sad about your Mum at this time of year (((cyber hugs)))

Yes having dependent children certainly does make you focus on you own mortality doesn't it?

That reminds me, I must get round to getting our wills signed! Having to include the Guardianship bit is very sobering...not that I am drunk or anything

Although I do feel on Planet space cadet today with this virus. Have been in bed and just went to my GP in the hope he would give me drugs but he said its a virus not a infection...mind you hedid give me a generous donation to my sponsored swim!!

Have any of you not got around to sponsoring yet? Please do, it just takes 2 minutes and any amount if very gratefull received by NSPCC:

nspcc.tributefunds.com/fund/St+Patrick's+Day+swim+for+Baby+P/showFund/

Am feeling a bit despondant now as am chasing aout 60 people who said enthusiaticallt "Oh yes, I'll sponsor you" but haven't and its embarassing having to chase people

I've booked 5 flights to see msome friends in Barcelona and DH has announced he doesn't want to go! WTF?? Am really annoyed as he never once said he didn't want to and now we can't get aefund from Easyjet

Hmmpphh!!!

sfxmum · 26/02/2009 19:37

just a quick one, is anyone about tomorrow to do something? maybe lollipop?

OP posts:
sfxmum · 26/02/2009 19:39

and auntie that is rotten best say 'it is great but sorry can't sponsor' but maybe some genuinely forgot it is easily done, don't feel embarrassed about asking it is not for your benefit anyway

OP posts:
MrsRecycle · 26/02/2009 19:50

I'm around sfx. Lollipop would be good for ds.

Auntie - can I come instead [plead]??? Sorry to hear doc wouldn't give you meds. It's a truly awful bug and does take time to ride it out.

Westfield was good - picked up a wiifit so am hoping to work off chocolate chip cookies i've just made.

sfxmum · 26/02/2009 19:59

great mrsR dd seems keen today but you never know, will check back in the morning looking at 11am probably

OP posts:
MrsRecycle · 26/02/2009 20:28

sfx thats fine with me - I'm happy to go anywhere that your dd wants to go lol.

mygreatauntgriselda · 26/02/2009 21:23

SFX - thanks for the encouragement. I don't want to hassle people if they feel to embarassed to say they dn't want t sponsor, but I hav a duty to hassle those who are absent minded Gin

MRsR - actually if anyone wants the tickets I can easily change the names online. They are London To Barcelona (and back), £50 incl all taxes etc, booked to go on 19 April and return on 24 April, though I think I can change dates too, its just they want do full refunds.

So seriously, if anyone fancies two very affordable tickets to Barcelona and back....let me know

mygreatauntgriselda · 26/02/2009 21:26

not gin, though I feel I need the latter more...

FriarKewcumber · 26/02/2009 23:11

OK I think I am now safe to go live that I have a new job. But haven't handed my notice in yet so my boss doesn't know. Spoke to my new boss this evening to discuss my health issues and she seems reassured that I won't drop dead on her.

pcworld · 27/02/2009 08:41

Kew - congratulations! What part of town will you be based in? Well done on getting a new job in this climate!

sfxmum · 27/02/2009 08:45

some good news to start the day! that is great Kew, congratulations

mrsR thanks very accommodating of HRH minisfx

pcW how are things?

auntie Barcelona tickets super tempting but don't think we can

OP posts:
mygreatauntgriselda · 27/02/2009 09:26

Hey Kew that's fantastic news - well done!!!

You must be so pleased

Why don' you celebrate by taking to DS to Barcelona for a holiday?

MrsRecycle · 27/02/2009 09:44

Kew - congratulations. How much notice do you have to give?

auntie - I think there may be a charge for changing dates (saw it on the Airline programme). It is very tempting (and cheap) but sadly the week the kids go back to school.

sfx - its quite nice out there isn't it? Does HRH fancy Lollipop? Or a park somewhere? Or Kew Gardens?

sfxmum · 27/02/2009 09:52

mrsR in her words I'd rather go to lollipop for the bouncy castle then Kew Gardens for ice cream

she is so like her mummy for planning her day

OP posts:
slng · 27/02/2009 09:58

Morning all!

Want to come out to play too. So bored ...

Kew - congrats on new job!

MrsRecycle · 27/02/2009 09:58

see you on the bouncy castle then sfx around 11.

sfxmum · 27/02/2009 10:11

ok mrsR

slng are you coming too or you wish you could but can't? be nice to see you sometime anyway since I have not seen you since that first time in the Greek restaurant over a year ago

OP posts:
FriarKewcumber · 27/02/2009 10:18

Job is in Vauxhall and theoretically I have to give 3 months notice (but we'll see about that, no-one in theor right mind wants a disgruntled finance dirctor arouns )

FriarKewcumber · 27/02/2009 10:19

slightly more pay (just a smidgeon) but small pension contribution and private healthcare which I don't currently get.

And best of all... still a four day week.

slng · 27/02/2009 10:25

sfx - can't come out to play really. Must work. But meet up some time soon would be nice!

Kew - a gardening leave then? Just as spring approaches! Good timing. Will they frogmarch you off the premises?

FriarKewcumber · 27/02/2009 10:34

unfortunartely slng I susepct they will be expecting me to work it all (I have other ideas as I really want to start new job)

SushiMummy · 27/02/2009 10:37

KC - Congrats! So when is the party?

Re the nursery open day tomorrow, well, there will be no Bouncy Castle and maybe little food/drink, just treasure hunting, apparently. Don't know if we want to go now.
