Morning all

Paddle do your male colleagues get paid more to do similar role?

I've put in 3 pay claims in my life and all were approved, athough my former company took 12 and 9 months to process the first two .

I think I get paid well for what I do but am aware my pay is still in bottom 25% of market rate compared with my peers elsewhere which is very annoying, although my company says they will rectify it I know not when or by how much .

I hope art class goes well today

I wrote a very interesting and amusing post earleir but deleted it by mistake - still half asleep

My lodger keeps staying up until 2am - I keep getting woken by her feet padding around above my head. I guess I will get used to it. She's very quiet and tolerates DS2 crying in the night so I am not saying anything to her unless it becomes a real problem - I can't expect her to not walk around

Paddle I hope you have Heart FM on and are dancing around with DD to wake the neighbours up this morning!

sfxmum · 01/03/2008 12:06

good morning all

foxie congrats on ds2, hope ds1 feels better soon, take it dd is getting along jut fine

slng - enjoy wedding so what did you wear?

ros - much sympathy with tantrums, although lack of speech doesn't help it really isn't the cause I am sorry to say,dd can have some very articulated tantrums its a phase

I try to go out in the morning/ middle of day and leave the afternoon for quiet mostly home bound activities as I know she can't cope very well with too much stimuli by then

SJ is CM at Marble Hill? must go there sometime

KC and all others at art class, hope you have a nice time

paddle glad you had some respite, clearly they deity didn't slack.

regarding discrimination I was once asked a very illegal question at interview

  • so do you have children or are you planning to have them soon?
well because you are in the age for it

dh kindly took over when dd woke up at 7 and somehow I slept till 9.30 then went out jogging

btw what is Heart FM?

sfxmum · 01/03/2008 12:31

and happy St David's day for those of you of the welsh persuasion

no pigs stomachs to be consumed I take it

Kewcumber · 01/03/2008 13:37

Didn't know you could speak Welsh, hidden talent. Happy St David's day

Foxie - Well done on DS2 achievements, yay

SFX & Bunyan - CM was good although conversation with my friend was quite fragmented due to size of the place, nice cup of herbal tea though! Might go next Fri, will see how the week pans out

Slng - enjoy the wedding

PC - I think I need to use your prayer on DS tonight as he woke up at 1am and then at 5am for day He's crashed out now though.

I received a lovely card and flowers from him and he has now started calling me mother after wishing me Happy Mother's Day. I asked Dh if he enjoyed the art class he replied yes but he found it hard work getting the paints etc organised, lucky QC & PC there to help out I was looking forward to having a new mug but he said that looked like too much hard work

Kewcumber · 01/03/2008 14:32

hidden and rusty - haven't spoken it properly in over 20 years but was bordering on fluent at 16. Obviously "ym" was a typo.. should be "yn"

fitfox · 01/03/2008 15:15

QC - I had spotted that actually!

Did you go to the Art thing this morning?

sfxmum · 01/03/2008 15:20

I spotted that when I googled the translation
dh out with dd she told me she was thinking of getting me some building blocks as a mothers day gift that ought to keep me busy

SJ I actually meant go to Marble hill must do that some time

fitfox · 01/03/2008 21:52

Oooh yea Marble Hill should be good soon when it gets a wee bit warmer

Paddlechick666 · 02/03/2008 08:15

foxie..how exciting about ds2's first steps. i love it when they first start doing the 'zombie' walk.

well, went out for a 'quick drink" for a friend's birthday last night and, god i'm so ashamed, allowed her to persuade me to go to park avenue (or shark avenue as we call it) disco. average age 18, i'd say . got in at 2am so glad it's mother's day and got excuse to sit on my bum enjoy my children

oh well, guess it might still be okay.

thanks for the info tho

hope everyone's having a lovely day.

i've been to the tip this morning!

rosmerta · 02/03/2008 12:05

Happy mother's day, or as ds said today 'Mummy's day, yeah'

Dh has taken ds over to his mums today so have the house to myself.

Sfx, I'm also trying the quiet afternoon, ds still has a nap but it seems to take him anything up to an hour to wake up properly!

SJ99 · 02/03/2008 13:36

Happy Mothers Day to all!!!

Hope you are all enjoying a lovely day. DS actually slept 7-7 for 1st time all week which was great, been to gym and got brekky made up for me when I returned

Just been chilling at home so far, we may do more area hunting this afternoon. Went to see house in Hampton yesterday and it was great - quiet road, virtually gutted but so would make for a great project, loads of potential to expand too. Still mulling over areas though....

rosmerta · 02/03/2008 18:03

Sj, are you still up for lollipop tomorrow?

SJ99 · 02/03/2008 18:58

Planning to go but will see how HRH is in the morning. Teething a lot, hardly eaten anything again today, and he tells me his mouth hurts, awww. The nasty, stinky nappies have started too - ok TMI, will call you in the morning if we can't make it, otherwise see you there

rosmerta · 02/03/2008 19:01

no worries, hope he feels better poor thing

bunyanvillas · 02/03/2008 19:43

Evening all and a happy mother's day all round! Ros, we'd be up for Lollipop tomorrow - our marathon session there last week was a great success! What time are you heading there at?

Paddlechick666 · 02/03/2008 20:08

evening all

MD great success here altho I am knackered!

Bro helped me clear out the shed and we went to the tip whilst the beef cooked for 7 hours!

It was amazingly delicious tho and we ate till we popped with lots of nibbles and four deserts plus dd's postman pat cakes!

i got a bunch of flowers and a card and some chocolate

parents really enjoyed it, teens were moderately well behaved and nephew dried up for me.

t'was a lot of hard work but well worth it. bed soon i think!

rosmerta · 02/03/2008 20:44

glad you had a good day paddle

Bunyan, I'd probably aim to get there for about 10.30-11. I usually give ds his lunch there and then head back around 12.30-ish for his nap.

bunyanvillas · 02/03/2008 20:52

May well see you there, in that case! PC, your day sounds great, most especially the 4 deserts plus postman pat cakes!

Paddlechick666 · 02/03/2008 21:07

lol bunyan, we had banoffie pie, tiramisu and chocolate torte and, oh bugger! actually it was three deserts and cake!

oh and a gallon of double cream!

cheats corner: i can deffo recommend Mrs Beatons frozen mini yorkie puds!
