MrsR,
Yes, he was lovely. Strange we went to see the same obs and did not realise it.

Bluey,
Sorry for misspelling. As MrsR said, it's Gibb not Gibbs.

As part of the house doctoring, dd inadvertently got her own room. It was just less expensive to turn the spare room into DD's room and not a guest room.

I got really emotional about it. DD, on the other hand, was absolutely fine and went to sleep without a problem. She's been sleeping in my room for the past 2 years and we both really missed her last night.

But I was also really happy to get my room back. It's such a luxury to be able to read in bed again and spend hours pampering myself in the ensuite without worrying about waking her up.

mellow2 · 31/03/2008 13:57

Welcome back Sushi. Glad you had a lovely trip.

mellow2 · 31/03/2008 13:58

Oops. I wasn't so emotional that I had to post the message twice.

Thanks for the link, COV.

Hi Ros, hopefully you'll see the benefit of the clock change. dd slept till nearly 7:30am yesterday which was really 8:30am of course.

Today I had to wake her at nearly 7:10am after the boiler woke me at 7am. Guess who forgot to change the clock on the boiler then lol.

Mind you, it was nearly 8:30pm last night before she went to sleep.....

Mellow, I know what you mean about moving them into their own room but when it happens at the right time for all involved it is a great success. Sounds like you picked the right time.

Bluey08 · 31/03/2008 14:35

Thanks everyone! Those Obstetricians sound great - there's nothing like a recommendation!
I'm also pretty keen on finding a good GP in the area - any thoughts on that?
thanks again for the info

  • PS - I don't have red hair though!
sfxmum · 31/03/2008 14:36

regarding moving to own room dd is still in ours, dh wanted to sort it out but seems to have given up when his choice of bed was not available - I can see I will need to take over otherwise it will be another year and frankly dd is more than ready, she even complains about dh's snoring

sfxmum · 31/03/2008 14:37

bluey what is the area?afaik the GP's 'catchment' is fairly small

mellow2 · 31/03/2008 14:52

New thread when this one runs out.

mellow2 · 31/03/2008 14:57

Sfx,
I realised that I haven't given you your books back to you last night! Never mind, it'll have to wait till the play date at yours.

PC,
You're right about picking the right moment which takes me to my next topic.

Where can I buy girly decorations for dd's room? Dh is thinking of some art/craft type wall hanging.

Sorry if I can't be more specific as it was dh's idea!

Can anyone help?

sfxmum · 31/03/2008 15:04

mellow have you checked Jojo ? I am sure there are loads more

re: books posted that this morning yes must sort out a day

Bluey08 · 31/03/2008 15:16

Sfxmum - I'm in Richmond, not sure what catchment area that is - all this is so unfamiliar to me!

sfxmum · 31/03/2008 15:23

bluey I think if you go to the NHS website it will give you a list of GP's near you.

also there is a link on mellow's post to the new talk thread, this one runs out of room at 1000 posts

sfxmum · 31/03/2008 15:24

the other thing is not all take new patients so you might have to call around. I am in Kew and there are at least 4/5 surgeries to choose from

Bluey08 · 31/03/2008 15:45

thanks so much!

Lausy · 05/04/2008 15:02
