Hi everyone. Thought I would make this thread for anyone hoping to have a FET in August!

I am waiting for my period to start hopefully any day now before embarking on a natural/natural modified attempt.

I have had one failed fresh transfer and have 3 frozen embryos.

Good luck everyone!

Hi @magpie234, I will join you here from July one, as looks my transfer might be first days of August (or last days of July 😅)
how are you feeling? I am having the sxan tomorrow, hopefully they will give me more clear dates

Rebekah77 · 21/07/2025 20:58

Keeping fingers crossed for weigh in
finally feeling a bit better after the round and hoping I can make weight next week

Chickenqueen · 22/07/2025 08:33

Hi @magpie234 thanks for making this thread :) I am having a FET mid August I had a chemical in June with my first transfer so hoping for a miracle this time. I am currently on Norethisterone, starting Buserelin on Thursday! Doing medicated cycle.
Good luck everyone!!

FlatWhiteAnyone · 22/07/2025 15:48

Hi all, got my transfer date - 29th of July! And got so anxious 😬 They don’t do a trigger shot, just progesterone, aspirin etc. Not sure it is common

magpie234 · 22/07/2025 18:21

@FlatWhiteAnyone Exciting! I find it all so confusing (which makes me decidedly untrusting tbh) but my consultant said we would try fully natural for me so no medication whatsoever! But if there is looking to be a risk that the transfer would need to be on a weekend when they are shut, we would do a trigger, I would start taking progesterone pessaries, and they would transfer I think 6 days after that? No mention of aspirin. I would like to add some in but my consultant is wary. Been tempted to just do it myself anyway (one 75mg pill a day) but so far am following his advice…

@Chickenqueen If all goes to plan (highly dubious in ivf world!) then I think mine should also be mid-August. Sorry to hear about your chemical. Fingers crossed for this next go!

@magpie234I also think better just to follow them, as otherwise too much uncertainty and anxiety. I have very good regular periods, get pregnant but just no quality left (age).. so thought also natural (we do DE). But given different countries they said no, too much uncertainty and stress, then better you stay near clinic all the time and they monitor etc. So I just like oh well fine, nothing natural left 😒 They do pills only and progesterone injections, no trigger, then aspirin, antibiotics for 2 days when transfer (no idea why, I decided not to ask but just follow). We are very lucky as got 10 embryos out of 12 frozen DE, which is incredible success, so probably the clinic a bit relaxed. They won’t test them though, due to law as age factor removed now. After so many mc and all mine were uneuploid..I wish they tested

magpie234 · 23/07/2025 13:49

@FlatWhiteAnyone No trigger at my clinic either on medicated as I thought the estrogen stopped follicles developing anyway? Yours sounds good tbh! But rubbish if you wanted to try natural. 10 embryos is amazing! Not tested ours either but I think if we have to go through the full shebang again and get enough embryos to justify it we will.

Hey @magpie234 thanks for starting this group - I found the last one I was in really helpful!

Just had my FET planning appointment and are going to be starting a medicated FET cycle the day after my period which is due Saturday!! Can't believe it! Excited nerves!

This is my first NHS funded IVF cycle. We had to do a freeze all due to the OHSS risk and we got 4 frozen embryos.

Really wishing everyone in this group all the best and feeling grateful we've all got each other for a bit of support x

magpie234 · 23/07/2025 17:47

@CloudyIvy55 Exciting! Mine has been misbehaving after I started and then came off the estrogen pills but I am hopeful it may also rock up on Saturday or thereabouts so maybe we will be in sync! Did you develop OHSS or were you OK? Hope the latter! Right back at you with all the best and I definitely also find the support groups helpful. Just makes such a difference being reminded that there are other gals out there who get it!

Hi everyone joining from the July group as I am
now likely to have my EC early August, started day 1 of stims today after 20 days of down reg, will be a Fresh ET. Sending positive thoughts to everyone struggling with IVF ❤️

magpie234 · 24/07/2025 09:22

@Hopeful786 Hey! Good luck starting stims and hope you have great success. This thread is for those of us having frozen embryo transfers so you might get more support through stims etc on the August IVF/ICSI thread :)

OP posts:
CloudyIvy55 · 24/07/2025 19:26

@magpie234luckily I didn't develop OHSS. Was a bit of a shock to be told that we would need to freeze all as I felt absolutely fine all through my stims. But I've definitely made the most of the break and with hindsight, I think it did me well, to give my mind a bit of a break from IVF - life even felt normal for a bit!

But now back at it! Meds arriving in the morning and there is alot more than I realised there would be! Are you doing a medicated or natural cycle?

magpie234 · 25/07/2025 07:40

@CloudyIvy55 Tbh I hate the waiting that can be involved in ivf but wish we had done freeze all. Our fresh failed and while it could have been aneuploid (not tested this round) I just do not think my body was ready for it after all the stims and ec procedure. So it felt like a waste of our best embryo. But onwards and upwards!

I tried a medicated cycle last month but got bad side effects - migraine (I suffer from these anyway)/headache/constant nausea. So as my ovulations and periods seem to be regular my consultant pulled me off it and we agreed to try a natural or modified natural cycle this month instead. I can feel my period gearing up so reckon my day 1 may be tomorrow or Sunday. Really going to try and trust my body that it can do this on its own - or at least give it a chance to. Unexplained over here but with some potential male factor. So trying to remind myself that as of yet nothing has been found wrong with me! So there is no reason why it could not work next time… 🙏🏻

Glad you felt you had a good break mentally. So important. But exciting to be back at it soon? Best of luck!

Hey @magpie234 did you come on your period today? I haven't and I feel no signs that it's coming soon either 😕 the wait continues...

FrostedFlake · 26/07/2025 22:02

Hi everyone, I hope you don’t mind me joining. This will be our 5th round, we have done 3 full IVF rounds and one failed FET. We are extremely grateful for our son from our second round and if we are lucky enough we would love a sibling for him and another little baby for us. I have gotten pregnant with all the transfers but unfortunately have had 3 miscarriages with two back to back earlier this year.
Neither of us is overly optimistic about this round as we have used up the good embryos however I know there’s still a chance and you only need one that is healthy and sticks.

I’m on day two of Pergoveris. So at least things have kicked off now, I just can’t with all the waiting that there is as it can really get to you.

how’s everyone feeling?

magpie234 · 27/07/2025 01:32

@CloudyIvy55 Ugh annoying! Hope it gets into gear soon. Mine has just started tonight so tomorrow (Sunday) will be my day 1. I should get my plan from my clinic on Monday (or as much of a plan as they can give me for a natural FET anyway!). I have done my back in in my sleep and it is so painful so am worrying that may affect things in some way… a lot of inflammation… but hopefully it will go down. The paranoia has clearly begun 🙄

OP posts:
CloudyIvy55 · 27/07/2025 09:32

Hey @FrostedFlake so sorry to hear about your miscarriages, that must be incredibly tough. Totally relate to the waiting being so frustrating! Wishing you lots of luck!

Glad you've got going @magpie234 so annoying about your back!

I've woken up in the most awful, irritable mood so I'm hoping that means AF is on her way! 😂

magpie234 · 28/07/2025 21:12

How is everyone doing? I got my plan today - or the start of anyway… shall be in clinic next Monday and Wednesday for monitoring scans to see how my lining and hopeful follicle are getting on! Then go from there. It feels good to be officially in treatment again. Trying to stay positive even if not one cell of me actually believes I will ever see a positive test after so many negatives! Thinking about how best to prep but other than my supplements and healthy diet I think all I can do is gentle exercise and maybe add some pomegranate juice?! What are you all doing to prep?

OP posts:
CloudyIvy55 · 28/07/2025 21:29

@magpie234Glad you've got a plan and some scans booked in - progress and plans always feel good! Healthy diet and gentle exercise sound really good.

I'm still waiting for my period - quite frustrating! I really need to get my head in the game as my prep isn't going well, managed to snack on far too many biscuits and crisps today and was just thinking I need to get the diet back on track tomorrow!

FlatWhiteAnyone · 29/07/2025 13:26

Hi ladies, just got my embryo on board!! Cannot believe I am on this stage 🥰 They asked for blood test next Thursday and then Saturday. I promised them not to do urine test as she said you will do on Sunday-Monday, will be negative you will worry till blood, positive- still worry if line changes and then testing multiple times… I always tested super early and a lot before (non-ivf ones)…will try to avoid 😬😬

FrostedFlake · 30/07/2025 10:42

Congrats @FlatWhiteAnyone thats so exciting!!! How are you feeling? How do you feel about not testing? I’ve always tested early as the clinic do two weeks usually and I see this round it has changed to 16 days. They also don’t do bloods at our clinic unless there’s a concern.

how’s everyone else doing? Have you gotten your period?
Im booked in for my first monitoring scan on Friday and hopefully all going well, transfer at some stage next week.

FlatWhiteAnyone · 30/07/2025 11:24

@FrostedFlakethank you!! It feels good! I am tired but it is progesterone and also traveling back from Greece. Feel weirdly positive…lets see how it will be next week closer to the test. I was sure I will test early, but then they insist on two beta and first one early, I am planning not to do home tests. I am prone to overthinking and anxiety..so that means I won’t be relaxed anyway.

@magpie234, @FrostedFlake- good luck with the scans!

@CloudyIvy55hope your period arrives soon!

hope everyone is doing well as much as possible

CloudyIvy55 · 30/07/2025 14:54

How exciting @FlatWhiteAnyonewishing you lots of luck!

I am still waiting for my period - it's such a horrible game, can't help but get my hopes up of a miracle natural conception when in reality this is definitely just my cycle regulating after the medication and egg retrival. Trying to keep busy and distracted.

FlatWhiteAnyone · 30/07/2025 14:57

@CloudyIvy55could they use the pills to bring on the period?

Hopefull1981 · 31/07/2025 12:44

Hi ladies,

I am going to join you. I have FET in August - currently on day 9 of meds and first tracking scan tomorrow. We are doing a double embryo transfer but the quality isn't great (3BC's). Trying to stay positive but worried if they will survive the thaw. I wish you all the best of luck.
