Hi everyone. Thought I would make this thread for anyone hoping to have a FET in August!

I am waiting for my period to start hopefully any day now before embarking on a natural/natural modified attempt.

I have had one failed fresh transfer and have 3 frozen embryos.

Good luck everyone!

Hey everyone!
I am going crazy and need advice please!!!
I am 9dpt with 5 day embryo have had on and off bleeding since about day 3. Not enough to call a period but not tiny spots either. I have the full pregnant feeling and my boobs are veiny like when I have had early pregnancy in the past but my at home tests are still negative!!! All of my other pregnancies have been natural this is my first ivf as anyone had anything similar?

Alexandrine · 07/08/2025 23:13

@Gumpsie They were only Day 3 embryos rather than blastocysts so I don’t think they grade them in the same way - they only really told me they were where they’d expect Day 3 embryos to be at this stage (because of my age at the egg collection (40) and that I only got 4 eggs which luckily all fertilised, they froze them all at Day 3 rather than culturing them on, just in case any didn’t make it. It’s why they put 2 back again, which they don’t typically do for blastocysts - they did the same for the transfer that gave me DS).

No way am I testing early! I want to hold onto hope 🤞and put off the potential disappointment as long as possible. But I’m struggling enough with the wait even now and know how tempting it will be (actually I always tested early with all my failed attempts in the past - apart from the very last time when I conceived my son!). So I’ve decided I’m only going to buy a pregnancy test the night before test day so I can’t cheat 🤣 My period will be due to start a couple of days before the test date anyway, so depending on how the IVF meds affect that this time, I sadly might know before test date anyway…

It totally makes sense that at 35 you might consider cycling again btw (I’m so jealous of all you “young” ladies on this thread that have that potential 🤣- as a SMBC I spent too long hoping for the right partner to come along so didn’t even start my fertility journey until I was already 38). Hopefully you won’t need to though (and the same for all you other young’uns on this thread! 🍀)

Alexandrine · 07/08/2025 23:27

@Anonymousmama10 I think even the “early” tests aren’t always clear till 10dpt or sometimes later, even with a blastocyst/5 day transfer - as it depends on when the embryo actually implanted which can vary, as well as the sensitivity of the test. So I’d try again tomorrow with FMU (and maybe a different test if possible?).

Sadly symptoms like the full feeling etc aren’t really definitive, as the IVF meds can cause those and I don’t have experience of much more than spotting/very light blood after transfer, so I can’t advise personally on the bleeding. But 🤞for you!

Gumpsie · 08/08/2025 07:09

@Alexandrineah okay that makes sense. That’s really good your clinic were able to freeze on day 3. Sounds promising that they were where they were meant to be on day 3 🤞🏻. When is your OTD? I feel the same as you. Was gonna test today but decided it’s not worth it, especially if it’s a chemical etc. will be too many ifs and buts! When I tested with DD, I also tested at 9dpt, as I was convinced my period was coming.

my period is due any day now, but as I’m on Progynova, I assumed the meds would just delay it? I’ve never done a FET before so it’s all new to me!

ahh 40 really isn’t that old tbh! I’d put you in the same age bracket as me 🤣.

@FlatWhiteAnyone did you get any early pregnancy symptoms? I have nothing! Feel like normal 🥴 xx

magpie234 · 08/08/2025 07:51

@Bluebell155 So much luck to you. That must be another level of anxious and hard after your very sad stillbirth. So sorry that happened to you. Fingers crossed for a positive outcome.

I am starting my progesterone pessaries today before my transfer on Wednesday. Now have a blood test Tuesday after pushing for one too. Today is an exciting (well, you know) day too as we are going to see Professor Jonathan Ramsay to discuss male fertility and how things on that side may be the cause or contributor of our struggles (we are ‘unexplained’), which will make a nice change! My husband is being great about it, and I think in a way also looking forward to having someone at the very top of their game listen to us and try to help. I expect he will send him for some more advanced tests (notably the dna frag analysis) and we will get the results for those in due course.

Hey! Lots of you seem much further ahead than me , but I've been reading through and it's so nice to see the positive results and the PUPO's!

The chat about age also makes me laugh, I'm 33 in a couple of weeks and every birthday feels like I'm running out of time 🤦‍♀️😂

I'm only 5 days into my medicated cycle - first scan next Thursday which feels like a long time away!! Feeling OK so far, but I know the real stress will come in the TWW.

Wishing you all lots of luck!

CharChar88 · 08/08/2025 09:01

Morning,
I am 4dp5dt and going insane. This was our 4th transfer (1 fresh failed 2022, successful fresh 2022 = little girl, FET MMC April 2025) and the wait seems to be the hardest ever, or perhaps I am remembering things with rose tinted glasses! 😭

pinksheetss · 08/08/2025 09:04

Morning everyone

@CharChar88i am exactly the same. 3dp5dt today and going wild thinking no symptoms but I think I’m expecting to feel something in my stomach which I won’t so there’s that!
I do have quite a stuffy nose and I think I feel a little sick but I also think I am imagining that for the sake of trying to feel any symptom!
I didn’t really have any symptoms with my successful cycle and with both failed cycles so it doesn’t help symptom spotting

CloudyIvy55 · 08/08/2025 09:06

@CharChar88the waiting is the worst!! Distraction is the only way forward I think ...I've repainted almost the entire house in the last year! 😂

CharChar88 · 08/08/2025 09:12

@pinksheetss @CloudyIvy55 🤲🏼😵‍💫, I flip between doing chores around the house, to just wanting to do nothing and be In my head.
I am too waiting for symptoms - I don’t think it helps I had a recent “successful” transfer where I felt regular on/off twinges so I am totally comparing to that. I just have a really achy back. I can’t believe it’s only 4 days feels like a lifetime ago. Thank you for mutual support ❤️
I have never tested early but think I might on Sunday (day 6) just because my husband will be around.

magpie234 · 08/08/2025 09:59

@CharChar88 I have heard that lower back ache can be a positive implantation sign so fingers crossed!

CharChar88 · 08/08/2025 10:32

Thank you @magpie234 , fingers crossed. So much hope, limited expectation 🙈 xx

Gumpsie · 08/08/2025 10:38

When my first fresh round worked, I was convinced my period was coming as I got the usual cramps etc but was shocked to see a positive test. This time I have zero symptoms, save for vivid dreams, but all symptoms could just be all the meds 😵‍💫🥴.

Good luck with your scan next Thursday @CloudyIvy55.

Welcome @CharChar88! Sorry to read about your MMC 😥. I have to say I am finding this wait a little easier, mainly cos I am kept more busy with DD 🤣.

@pinksheetssI know the feeling, it’s like you’re imagining symptoms into existence 🤣.

FlatWhiteAnyone · 08/08/2025 11:41

@Gumpsie I didn’t have any symptoms at all, tested 6dpt only because had a bit of bleeding. Even now don’t feel anything just fuller breast but not crazy.
Clinic said they are happy with beta levels and no need to test on Saturday. So now waiting till the scan 😒 more waiting

CharChar88 · 08/08/2025 11:54

Congratulations @FlatWhiteAnyone thats one big hurdle done!!

Thank you @Gumpsie - the missed miscarriage totally threw me last time, everything felt fine and I had all the symptoms but the scan said otherwise.

I thought I was imagining feeling sick yesterday but it’s come back today, nausea when hungry, and I have the vivid dreams too. Progesterone Meds or pregnancy - who knows!!! I am going into work for a few hours so hopefully that will make the rest of today go fast. Xx

FlatWhiteAnyone · 08/08/2025 12:15

@CharChar88 thank you, yeah also had mmc last time which my body didn’t want to let go. That’s why won’t relex till scan. My breast feeling not so full today or maybe I am imagining..

pinksheetss · 08/08/2025 12:47

That’s strange I swear I have been having more vivid dreams also but again not sure if it’s the same as I always have or if imagining it
last night it was that myself and partner had broken up and I had to wake myself up and check partner was still there next to me and that it wasn’t real

fingers crossed it’s a good sign!
but ah I just feel so down today, just feel like it might be a third failure and that this is the end of our journey

Gumpsie · 08/08/2025 13:01

@FlatWhiteAnyone the wait for the scan is horrible. I remember with DD it was Covid times and my DH wasn’t allowed in the room with me for any of the scans. Such a scary time. When is your scan booked for?

@CharChar88 When I was pregnant with DD I also had the nausea when hungry, but that was more towards the end of first trimester so it’s a good sign 🤞🏻🤞🏻. It’s crap as with MMC your body still thinks you’re pregnant 😥.

@pinksheetsstry to stay positive. You’re not out until you’re out! Trust your body 🧘‍♀️

pinksheetss · 08/08/2025 13:11

Thank you @Gumpsie
I know that there’s nothing showing I’m out at all yet other than my brain so I should be more positive!
trying to decide when to test as I know I won’t manage to wait until my actual test day from clinic

I tested 6dp5dt with my successful transfer and the two failed ones I tested from around 4dp5dt
I’m going to try not test tomorrow and hold out. Hopefully until 9dp5dt?

Gumpsie · 08/08/2025 13:22

@pinksheetss I am testing on 9dp6dt, on Sunday. I(clinic told me to test 11pm). I just think testing early, you’re still going to be in limbo wondering if it’ll be a chemical, worry if the lines aren’t getting darker, or if it’s negative cos it’s too early you’ll be upset etc. Just not worth the mind games lol

pinksheetss · 08/08/2025 13:59

@Gumpsieyou are totally right and I have done that to myself previously with the positives and the negatives so I think minimum 9dp5dt for me. Clinic test day is 15dp5dt which is so long!

I’d like to do it sooner so I can stop the injections if needed as finding them painful.

CharChar88 · 08/08/2025 15:56

@pinksheetss i felt really positive in the lead up to my transfer and on transfer day and felt really low day 2 and 3. Going to work this afternoon definitely helped me. Hopefully the weekend will help, do some nice things and keep distracted. Xx

@FlatWhiteAnyone so sorry to hear this. I previously chased the positive pregnancy test and now more worried about it being positive and the wait until the scan - it’s so triggering. Wishing you all the luck and hope it goes quick. Our clinic scans around 8 weeks, will you wait or get an early private one?

FlatWhiteAnyone · 08/08/2025 16:07

Hope you manage to distract yourself and occupy with something positive this weekend!
I will do the scan around 8w, not earlier unless clear signs

FrostedFlake · 08/08/2025 16:22

Congrats to everyone who is currently PUPO! How are you all feeling?
I had my transfer earlier today and out of the 5 we’ve done this was the quickest and smoothest so I’m hoping that’s a good sign!
really not looking forward to taking Clexane, I find it extremely painful and I really don’t mind injections as all.

how’s everyone waiting on transfers doing? Anyone due a transfer early next week?

Rosieposy89 · 09/08/2025 10:19

Can I join please?
We transferred our 5ab blast on 7th August. Our second FET, first failed at Christmas. Already have a 4yo daughter.
My transfer was extremely difficult due to cervical scarring, so I am worried that will impact our chances.
No symptoms, just cramps
