Hi everyone. Thought I would make this thread for anyone hoping to have a FET in August!

I am waiting for my period to start hopefully any day now before embarking on a natural/natural modified attempt.

I have had one failed fresh transfer and have 3 frozen embryos.

Good luck everyone!

Hi everyone. I posted on test day with a very faint test. HcG was tested on that day and was very low at 55, so chemical assumed. However HCG kept rising, last test a few days ago got to 1135. Today had a TV scan at approx 6 weeks 5 days to rule out ectopic, which thankfully it isn't, but embryo hasn't developed and doesn't have a heart beat. Going back for a second scan in 5 days but essentially have been told it's almost certainly not viable and once I come off the progesterone I will miscarry.

My question is does anyone know when we can try again after this? Does a miscarriage mean you have to wait longer before another FET? Anyone been through similar.

Love to everyone else having a tough time on this journey

Hi @Pleasehelp200 so sorry you are going though this. Please take some time for yourself to grieve and have all the feels. I went through a miscarriage in June after my only embroyo transfer. Although I had nothing else to transfer post it I had to have discussions with the clinic about another egg collection. It might not be exactly the same but for reference I had to wait to be discharged from EPU and be testing negative on a pregnancy test as it takes a while for the HCG to leave your body. I then had to had a ‘ normal’ cycle before I would be able to start the following month so it did take a little while. All clinics any operate slightly differently though so I would check with them also. I hope this helps in some way x

What a crappy lottery this is x

FrostedFlake · 25/08/2025 20:40

@Pleasehelp200 I’m so sorry to hear you are going through this. We had a loss at just before twelve weeks earlier this year and had to do a few tests as it wasn’t progressing as it should have been and knew it wouldn’t work out.
Depending on the treatment route it could take a few weeks potentially to resolve itself (it did in our case with multiple appoints to the EPU to monitor things) but after you get the bleed it’s the same as any other cycle. You wait for two bleeds all together, usually the miscarriage and one more and then you can start again.
we ended up doing that and to be honest I don’t think I was emotionally ready and neither was my body and I wish I had taken a little bit of a longer break.
now this is our 5th cycle and having taken the summer off I feel in a much better place to go on with treatment and whatever it might bring.
sending you lots of love and a big hug x

How’s everyone doing? Hope you are all keeping well! This thread has been super quiet and thought I’d check in and see how everyone is ❤️

Hopeandfaith1990 · 27/08/2025 11:26

Hi @FrostedFlake I'm 9dp5dt today and have had 3 BFNs so I'm counting myself out now and have stopped my medication. I'm devastated but also feeling quite numb. I want to go straight into another FET (as in back to back) so I might try and find a September thread as I assume this one might not be so active? How are you?

Hope19888 · 27/08/2025 12:33

@FrostedFlake

hello hope everyone is well.

we are 14 days post transfer we took our clinic test yesterday and it was positive and today was our darkest line so far .

had a few wobbles along the day my partner had had very and rib pain in her left rib and been very bloated from medication . Had a 6 hour trip to A and E yesterday due to the rib pain but there doesn’t seem to be any concerns due to where it is . Unfortunately just something my partner will have to go through and hopefully it gets better they think she might possibly have some fluid in her rib cage .

got our scan booked in the next few weeks so just got to keep hoping the little bean grows strong

keeping positive vibes for everyone xxx

Hi @FrostedFlakeI had my transfer this morning! It's my first one and all feels very surreal at the moment - I'm trying to enjoy this moment of excitement for now ☺️

CloudyIvy55 · 27/08/2025 13:01

@Hopeandfaith1990I'm so sorry! It's such a cruel and unfair situation.

I'm also in the September thread as my tww will roll into Sept so will see you over there if you want to join 😊

CloudyIvy55 · 27/08/2025 13:02

@Hope19888 thats a beautiful positive test! Congratulations x

I’m so sorry to hear about the negatives, it’s so unfair specially after everything we have to go through to even get to test day.
It’s great to hear that you are ready to go! Does your clinic do one cycle between treatments? Our unfortunately asks us to have two bleeds before starting again but it’s not too bad as the first bleeds is usually after the transfer and the next one is the one when you already take meds. Wishing you the best of luck and I really do hope it works out ❤️❤️❤️

Awh, congrats on the transfer!! How did it go? How are you feeling? Such an exciting time ahead! But also stressful if you are anything like me and can’t stop thinking about testing 😅

FrostedFlake · 27/08/2025 14:01

@Hope19888 congrats!! That’s such a great line!! When’s your scan booked for?
sorey to hear that she’s not feeling great with the rib pain and bloating! Hopefully it will ease over the coming weeks! I’m sure it was an uncomfortable 6 hour trip but it’s best to get these things checked out!

Bunnymum93 · 27/08/2025 18:12

@FrostedFlake OTD tomorrow at 13dp5dt and trying to rationalise my way through what can only be described as blind panic! How are you?

Hopeandfaith1990 · 27/08/2025 19:44

Thank you @FrostedFlake it’s a bloody tough journey isn’t it. I’ve asked my clinic to go again right away, I won’t be surprised if they say no as they can be conservative but I’ll try and push for it and if not try naturally in the meantime I guess. Finding it all so hard! :((

CloudyIvy55 · 27/08/2025 20:16

@FrostedFlakethe transfer went well thank you - was a little uncomfortable but fine. Physically I'm feeling OK too. I'm definitely going to be the same about testing - this is going to be a long wait! At the moment, I'm telling myself that I will wait until OTD but time will tell 😂 for now, I'm trying to keep myself distracted and busy with random jobs around the house (childless but work in a school so still on my summer holiday).

magpie234 · 30/08/2025 06:56

Hi everyone. Sorry for my radio silence! I have been really struggling with anxiety after our first ever positive so have been trying to stay off the forums a bit and distract myself tbh. But I miss this community of other gals who get it so wanted to check in and see how everyone is doing?

@CloudyIvy55 Exciting you are now PUPO! Glad it went well so keeping everything crossed for good news for you soon. How are you feeling?

@Hopeandfaith1990 Bleurgh it is so hard and I am so sorry this was not your month. I hope so much that Sep or whenever you do your next FET is. Not sure how many attempts you have had but my first fresh transfer failed and my second embryo failed to survive the thaw so it is (currently) third time lucky for me. Such a crap shoot!

@Pleasehelp200 I am so incredibly sorry to read this news. I hope you are looking after yourself and being looked after as much as possible.

@Hope19888 Great you have had your positive confirmed so strongly but argh about the rib pain. Your poor partner. That sounds horrible! I hope it calms for her soon along with the bloating. I am also feeling bloated and it sucks! But very grateful for the reason why of course.

@FrostedFlake How are you?! Where are you at now and how are you feeling?

Hopeandfaith1990 · 30/08/2025 10:14

Thanks @magpie234 it was my first FET after PGTA testing and we have 2 more euploids. The failure to survive the thaw is heartbreaking - these embryos are so precious aren’t they. I’m so glad your third one stuck. Early pregnancy is so anxiety inducing, I really think the only thing you can do is approach it day by day, sometimes even hour by hour. How are you feeling?

im trying to decide whether to push for a back to back transfer, or wait a cycle and get the endometrial scratch. Did you have it? I’m not sure how much of an impact it is supposed to have but I don’t think you can have the scratch procedure and a transfer in the same cycle (someone please correct me if I’m wrong!) x

FrostedFlake · 30/08/2025 17:36

@magpie234 great to hear from you! How are you feeling? When’s you scan? Hope all is going well ❤️

we are doing okay. Will be 6 weeks tomorrow and have our scan on Thursday. I’m petrified as the last time we got bad news and I had gone by myself and for some unknown reason when I rang my husband to tell him, he thought I was joking 🥹 and I’m not even sure if he can come with me due to work commitments 😭

Ive been having a lot of back pain and cramping as well as spotting still so really not sure what to expect next week. Gosh, IVF is such an emotionally tough and rough journey

Bunnymum93 · 30/08/2025 19:05

@FrostedFlake I'll be thinking of you tomorrow!
If you don't mind me asking, what are your cramps like? We had our first ever positive test on Thursday and it took me by surprise as I'd had period cramps since about 5dp5dt but over the last couple of days it's moved to the left hand side and is sharper. The clinic are scanning me tomorrow but I'm well aware the likelihood of seeing anything so early on is slim-to-none. Trying to stay calm but haven't been off dr google!

CloudyIvy55 · 31/08/2025 13:04

How was the scan @FrostedFlake?

Congrats on the positive @Bunnymum93! How was your scan today also?

I am now 4dp5dt - sore boobs which I've had all the way through so I think that's the progesterone. Some mild cramps and a terrible mood (but that's nothing new 😂). Each day I go a little bit more crazy with the wait!!

FrostedFlake · 31/08/2025 13:40

Grey to heat from you both @Bunnymum93 and @CloudyIvy55!

My scan is on Thursday so still a few days to go 😭 and I keep thinking that my spotting has gotten worse but when I check it’s fine. Thankfully! But it sucks being out and about thinking you are bleeding and unable to check.

@Bunnymum93 congrats on your BFP!! How are you feeling? I think this time around maybe I’m feeling things a lot more but I’ve been crampy like period cramps for a couple of weeks now and we are 6 weeks today. I also have mild back ache and I think it’s the hormones loosening everything and it doesn’t help that our little toddler only want me to pick him up and carry him everywhere 😅
I think cramping early in pregnancy is usually okay with all the hormones and that.

@CloudyIvy55 when do you think you will test? Oh my husband is telling me I’m super cranky so I’m embracing it 🤣 oh the waiting is so hard isn’t it!
how are you feeling outside of that?

Bunnymum93 · 31/08/2025 14:43

Ahh sorry @FrostedFlake I misread your post! I'll have my fingers crossed for you on Thursday.
Scan today went really well and they were able to see a gestational sac with a teeny little yolk sac right where it's supposed to be (very surprised for 4+5) so I can stop frantically googling ectopic pregnancy pain. But now I'm frantically googling multiples instead as there is a second sac (no yolk in that one yet though) so that's been a lot to process - overwhelmed is not the word!!

@CloudyIvy55 thank you! Cramps were a good sign for me apparently - mine really ramped up on day 5 so I think that must have been implantation day possibly? Fingers crossed for you 🤞
