Currently 3dp5dt! Going crazy here. Keep thinking what will be will be. But I just wish I could see what is going on in there.
Anyone else in the tww? When is your OTD?

Hi @swirls3468 I am in TWW and it is maddening isn’t it! My OTD is 20th April, I had the FET on 9th April. Currently pondering testing early on Sunday ...

Mine is on 23rd! No way will be able to wait that long. I'm debating whether to test on Tuesday. Have you got any symptoms ?

I had some spotting on day 1 and day 4 and some cramps day 4/5 but nothing since then. The drugs have made my boobs grow but that happened last time too on my failed cycle so I know it’s just the hormones!

Gensola · 15/04/2021 18:46

What about you? How are you doing?

No spotting for me. Nothing much at all really. My boobs seemed to have got really sore today though. They were a bit sore anyway from the progesterone so could just be that? It's so hard to tell isn't it! I'm trying NOT to think about it and not doing too well at that 😆 I'm really praying it works. This is our only embryo and we only get 1 round on nhs. Is this your first IVF round?

Gensola · 15/04/2021 21:37

Yes it’s my first round - we weren’t eligible for NHS because my DH has a 23 and 25 year old son from his first marriage, even though I have no children. so we have pre paid for two cycles privately, in the first cycle I got only two embryos despite a large harvest of eggs and OHSS which meant my fresh transfer was cancelled before Christmas. I had the first embryo transferred in February but it didn’t work, so this is our last shot before having to do a full second cycle with new egg collection. Sigh!

swirls3468 · 15/04/2021 21:47

Sounds like a journey for sure. It's an awful time isn't it. I've really been through the mill this past month. I ended up in hospital with ohss myself. I'm home now though and feeling bit better. I have to take blood thinning injections though.
Didn't realise you could pre pay for 2 cycles ? So what happens if you don't need the second ? Do you get your money back? Hoping you get your positive 💓

Hello, new to this. Feel your pain regards the tww, absolutely brutal isn't it 😓 Myself & husband on our 2nd cycle of ICSI due to male infertility (morphology). In Northern Ireland the waiting lists are the worst in the UK so we had to go privately (now spent approx 20k!) After an unsuccessful cycle in November last year, we have just finished the dreaded tww and this morning I have a positive pregnancy test (well 6 to be accurate!!!) We had a less than straight forward egg collection- my body released a load of eggs early so we only got 5, much less than the 1st cycle. I also had fluid on my womb so they were worried about OHHS. Thankfully the fluid subsided in a few days (6lbs worth!) All 5 eggs fertilised, with 3 good quality embryos on day 3, and just one good quality embryo on day 5 which we had transferred on 6th April. Against all the odds we are pregnant after years of trying and heartache. I know it is early days at just 4 weeks, but 🙏 I have everything crossed for anyone going through this extremely difficult time. It is so hard to understand unless you've experienced it isn't it. Stay positive, this one might just be the one xx

Gensola · 16/04/2021 08:06

Aww @Bella1984 congratulations! I’m from Northern Ireland - all my family are still there. I wish you a very happy and healthy pregnancy.
@swirls3468 we got a massive reduction by paying for two cycles in advance but if we have a live birth from cycle 1 we lose the money we paid towards cycle 2. It’s with a company called access fertility. What made it worth while for us was that the package with them covers all frozen embryo transfers as standard, so with cycle one we ended up having two FETs which would have been £2k each if we were paying the clinic directly, on top of the £4-5k for a cycle. We paid £10k for two cycles with unlimited FETs (obv this depends on you getting frozens to transfer tho!) and I reckon we’ve already had treatment worth £9k with just cycle 1.

Bella1984 · 16/04/2021 08:16

Thank you @Gensola! We have used Belfast Fertility they've been great. We paid for one cycle of ICSI initially thinking we would get some to freeze as I have no issues, but we just got the one to transfer which didn't work. We used Access fertility this time and paid for 3 cycles at 10.5k . . . Drugs not included. So if this cycle is successful I guess we have lost money, but sure it will be worth every penny hopefully! And it took the pressure off us financially if it wasn't to have worked so I think its worth it. They agreed to refund us 50% of the money if all 3 cycles were unsuccessful (this is based on you and your partners stats etc). Anyway, wishing you all the luck, everything crossed 🤞🤞🤞 xx

That's so lovely to hear! Congratulations. I had a dream last night I got my positive. I was so happy. The mind is cruel isn't it. I'm just worried I've not had any cramping ? Isn't that a bad sign? Everyone that's been successful I've heard they've had cramping ?

@Gensola ohh seems much better to pay for two cycles then! I didn't even think that was an option. I'm praying hard that this works BUT if it doesn't I don't think we will do IVF again. It made me so ill and yeah it's also so expensive. Maybe we would in a few years not sure! Just don't want to even think about it!

Thank you so much, we were trying for 2.5 years since we got married with no joy, found out my husband had fertility issues just before the last lockdown last March! So all was delayed due to covid. I was naively optimistic in the first cycle and really devastated when it didn't work. . . So so happy to get a BFP but still very cautious of course. I haven't had cramping as such, mild stomach pains that felt a bit like my period. Temperature has been up & down, def bloated & peeing all the time. But as you probs know the progesterone can cause all those symptoms too. I think it is different for everyone! I tried to stay relaxed in the tww but failed miserably and still got a positive. I did research nutrition a lot this time - daily Avocados, fresh pineapple and walnuts apparently help & I ate all these in abundance. Won't do any harm! Sending positive vibes xx

Me 🙋🏻‍♀️ 4dp5dt
Another 7 days until testing.
1 embryo from our 1 and only NHS funded round. Only 5 eggs due to low AMH so it feels like a little miracle in itself.
I've got side effects from the progesterone - feeling peaky, crampy, bloated, tired. Fun.

Aprilia123 · 16/04/2021 11:19

Me too, 1dp5dt. Only embryo from our first cycle.

KruT · 16/04/2021 12:31

And me , 4dp5dt. Two embryos from NHS funded round.
@Gensola thats strange you were not eligble. I have two kids but partner does not have any. We are with MFI

Gensola · 16/04/2021 13:29

@KruT every trust has its own rules which is very unfair and frustrating Sad
I really want to test tomorrow, will try to hang on another few days.

lucyinthe · 16/04/2021 17:17

Hey ladies... 4dp5dt here too 🙋🏻‍♀️

We're also using the Access funding programme, 2 cycles with a 70% refund if we're unsuccessful. We had our first round on the NHS at the end of 2019, got 11 eggs which turned into 3 embryos, those transfers were staggered over a year (thanks to covid). We also fell pregnant naturally during lockdown last year but that ended up ectopic. Glad to start a fresh cycle now, I feel like that one was doomed from the start. So had my 2nd egg collection earlier this month, got 13 eggs, 5 of which made it to day 5. 1 transferred on Monday and the other 4 in the freezer so feeling very lucky as everything seemed to go straight forward.

Sorry for the essay but I've got a long back story 😂

Anyway I've had mild cramps the last 2 days and really sensitive nipples, no spotting though. I'm starving and absolutely shattered, but I know this is all down to progesterone!

Such a head fuck at this stage isn't it, I tried to stay away from google and mumsnet this transfer but I couldn't help myself today x

Honestly it really does mess with your head. I was alright the first couple of days and now I can't stop thinking about it. I've decided I'm going to test Monday. I'm exhausted too! No spotting though. Bit of a dull ache but not cramps. My nipples are mega sensitive. But like you say, could all be down to the progesterone. Just so hard to tell!

I've started with a little bit of brown discharge this afternoon - 4dp5dt. The worry 😔

lucyinthe · 16/04/2021 20:54

@CurbsideProphet don't get disheartened! Spotting can be a good sign. So hard not to think the worst tho.

@swirls3468 thanks for your reply, every single twinge, ache and mood just makes you question things doesn't it.

Could mean we're pregnant could mean we're not. Just want to be put out my misery and know either way now.

CurbsideProphet · 16/04/2021 21:08

Thank you @lucyinthe 💐

IVFat43 · 17/04/2021 09:02

Hi all, nice to see this thread!
I’ve been on this journey since January

@lucyinthe I had ET Tuesday after an FER.. 5 day blastocyst! We had 2 in.. hope all good with you 😊

This morning I’m suffering really bad dizziness, to the point I’ve just had to hold the wall as I bent down, and a very mild headache plus sore boobs...

Anyone suffered dizziness after ET? Wondering if it’s a sign!!

lucyinthe · 17/04/2021 09:34

@IVFat43 I've had a couple of dizzy spells actually, and woke up with a bad headache this morning. Going out for a lunch with some friends today, hopefully that will take my mind off symptoms for an hour or 2!

Our clinic said they're only transferring single embryos at the moment because of Covid! Did you have to push to get 2 transferred or did your clinic recommend it?

Bella1984 · 17/04/2021 09:41

Hope you're all keeping OK. At least in England you can meet up in a beer garden! Still in bloody lockdown here in Northern Ireland 🙈 our clinic tends to only transfer one embryo, but our first cycle (unsuccessful) they transferred 2 as they were both lower grades and they didn't think would be viable to freeze. This time just the one Grade B/C embryo and it worked! I have my first ever pregnancy scan in 3 weeks, so excited but anxious too. That's the thing with IVF once you get over one hurdle it's straight onto the next thing to be nervous about! Xx
