Currently 3dp5dt! Going crazy here. Keep thinking what will be will be. But I just wish I could see what is going on in there.
Anyone else in the tww? When is your OTD?

Haha thanks @lucyinthe my head is honestly away with it! Understandable really isn't it! At least we all have the same excuse 😂 xx

KN4321 · 19/04/2021 14:09

I am terrified to test. I am totally convinced it hasn’t worked as all my symptoms resolved from day 6 onwards, had cramps, back pain before. Now nothing and I am day 9. I have lost nearly 2kg weight for some reason which I suspect is the bloating subsiding from stuns, but I thought it should get worse if you get pregnant.
I am so upset just keep crying.
Can’t test early as it allows some hope.

I have taken 2 weeks off but sat at home going mad. I wonder if anyone had a positive with no symptoms or weight loss?

IVFat43 · 19/04/2021 14:20

Hi all, looks like a few are getting in a tiz about testing early, I’d hold off if you can.. the clinic told me not to test until day 15dpt!
I’m now on day 6, the only symptoms still are the dizziness which comes and goes - still no better since Saturday.. I’ve not had the urge to test, I’m waiting till next Wednesday... with being so busy at work I do have other things preoccupying me... it may be totally different however if I didn’t x

lucyinthe · 19/04/2021 14:29

@KN4321 I've read a lot of posts from ladies with no symptoms at all that went on to get a positive so try not to get disheartened. Most of the symptoms I'm feeling at the moment I had on previous rounds which ended up BFN. There is no way to know until test day we've just got to try and hold it together till then ❤️

KN4321 · 19/04/2021 14:38

Thanks for the reply!
Logically I know won’t know until then just feel so upset, it’s agony waiting. How have I coped?

I spent too much time analysing my behaviour. The day of ET I went for a 10,000 step walk and got bad cramps on way back- hadn’t realised how far I gone until cramps started. I should have rested in retrospect but felt like I needed some air :(

Now I keep thinking if I didnt do this and did that - I may feel different now :(

Bella1984 · 19/04/2021 15:04

Hi all,

I had very few symptoms both times, 1st cycle BFN and this one BFP. Try not and read into them too much, the progesterone mimics a lot of early pregnancy symptoms too, just to be extra cruel!

Strange how all clinics differ so much isn't it. Never heard of ODT 15dpt? Mine was 10, some are 9 after a 5dt. Best thing is to not have any tests in the house, remove temptation! Otherwise you are just messing either your emotions even more than ivf already does.

I'm trying to get a letter sorted RE shielding from my clinic and they are being less than helpful! I am really disappointed. They basically are saying their advice is to shield up until ET so that you don't get covid and cancel your treatment! Now I am pregnant it seems they don't really care if I get covid! I work in a very high risk environment (Nightingale hospital for covid patients) no way I'm going back into that until I'm 12 weeks . . . And even after that think it will be very stressful. Especially in full PPE for 8 hour shifts. I also suffer from Bipolar Disorder & had to come off all my medications to undergo IVF for the health of my hopefully future baby! So it has been really difficult without my usual mood stabilisers, especially as stress is a major trigger for Bipolar! I am lucky I have a very supportive boss, but senior management want a letter from the clinic. I thought after spending 20k they might write me a bloody letter! Anyone experienced anything similar? Xx

elsaesmeralda · 19/04/2021 15:28

@Bella1984 my friend has just been furloughed for the rest of her pregnancy due to not feeling safe and being unable to have the vaccine, and she works in hospitality. Yours is much higher risk. She contacted citizens advice, not sure if they can help you. The gp was only prepared to write sick notes and the midwife couldn't help.

CurbsideProphet · 19/04/2021 15:38

@KN4321 if it's any consolation at all I wish I had no symptoms. I've got brown discharge (currently 7dp5dt, brown discharge started 4dp5dt) and I'm so anxious to use the loo in case I see more. Even though I'm desperate for success (1st and only NHS round, only this 1 embryo) my hope has pretty much dwindled.

KN4321 · 19/04/2021 15:47

Hi - do you think it could be implantation bleeding? Could be a good sign rather than bad 🍀

Bella1984 · 19/04/2021 15:48

Oh thank you so much, that is really helpful advice. Is your friend in England? I'm based in Northern Ireland. I have a really good GP and have a phone appointment with him this afternoon so I'm hoping he can help. I don't think I should be forced to go on sick when I am perfectly capable of working from home! I am a senior physio and have been doing phone appointments like GPs etc during covid, my boss is so supportive having actually been through ivf himself! But senior management in the NHS are a different matter 😓

I had today booked off as annual leave in case my test was negative on Friday, I've spent all day trying to sort this out. Not exactly relaxing. I also had my hairdresser booked to come & cut my hair in our back garden as I'm not risking the salon now and haven't been in 2 years!!! He's just cancelled 😣 today is not my friend haha.

Really appreciate your advice, so helpful.

Sending positive vibes to all of you still in the agonising tww x

BambiOnIce80 · 19/04/2021 16:24

Hi ladies, I'm very late joining (had transfer on the 8th and blood result this Saturday), but just wanted to say that this time round I definitely had no symptoms whatsoever and it really, really upset me because I was convinced it must have failed... and it was a BFP on Saturday at 9dp5dt on a beta blood test! 🤯 I know it's completely impossible not to symptom spot and to get really upset by lack of symptoms, but my experience is that you don't need symptoms to get a BFP. You're all so strong - you've got this ❤️💪

@Bella1984 I'm another NHS worker here 👋 I'm really sorry to hear that your clinic are being unsupportive about a shielding letter - could your GP possibly help you out with one? Or, if you've contacted the midwives about booking appointments, could you ask them to help? They should be well placed to offer advice about shielding from high risk areas in early pregnancy 🤞

lucyinthe · 19/04/2021 16:25

@KN4321 @CurbsideProphet I've now also started spotting, light brown sort of discharge. Cried my eyes out when I saw it just now. Can't help feeling it's the start of the end.

@Bella1984 work sound like they're dealing with this terribly, considering your mental health as well as being in early pregnancy surely it's their duty to make sure you're safe. I would definitely get on to citizens advice x

CurbsideProphet · 19/04/2021 16:36

@lucyinthe to save you doing all of the googling I have probably read hundreds of posts on forums over the past 3 days. Light brown spotting / discharge doesn't seem to be anything to worry about. But obviously it's awful to see it 💐

CurbsideProphet · 19/04/2021 16:39

@KN4321 I'm really trying to be hopeful but it's scary to see 😬

Bella1984 · 19/04/2021 16:43

Thanks @lucyinthe my work have been good actually and allowed me to shield and work from home for both ivf cycles, but that was only possible because the clinic wrote me a letter recommending that. They are refusing to do that now I'm pregnant which I cannot comprehend! I've been on the phone to them again and they have said a consultant will call me tomorrow, more waiting! And im back ag work tomorrow.

My GP is brilliant I have a great relationship with him due to my mental health struggles so I know he will help. But I've literally been in the bathroom being sick and missed his call. This day may just do one 🙈 have asked reception if he can call me back. . . I think the risk of getting covid in the first trimester should be enough for the fertility clinic, especially as they are still advising me not to get the vaccine, despite being in a very busy hospital with covid patients and seeing around 10 pstients a day. There is also data to say pregnant women are at higher risk of covid due to reduced immunity and also more likely to be hospitalised with covid. Never mind the risk to the unborn baby. So I am very angry with my clinic, makes it even worse when he have spent so much money with them! But of course one must stay zen, count to 10 and let it go! X

Bella1984 · 19/04/2021 16:44

Congratulations @BambiOnIce80, amazing news!

My transfer was 6th April so I am only 2 days ahead of you. We can go through this together!

What do you do in the NHS?

Have you got date for your first pregnancy scan booked? Mine is 6th May xx

BambiOnIce80 · 19/04/2021 18:25

I'm so sorry that the brown CM has scared you @lucyinthe 😔 Like @CurbsideProphet says though, there's loads of people who have that and it's a good sign, so keeping everything crossed for you 🤞🤞🤞

I can't wrap my head around the markedly different advice that clinics give about covid vaccines @Bella1984! 🤯 My clinic has followed along with the JCVI guidance at every point that it's changed, so first they rang me and told me not to get it, then about 4 weeks later they rang again to say get in quick and get it so that the first dose is 2 months clear of starting my cycle (so I did - manged to get both doses in before my FET started) and now there's a pan-Scottish guidance advising ladies to go ahead and get the jab 💉 The only caveat they put on it is to not get it within 2-3 weeks of starting your cycle, purely because the side effects can mimic covid and you don't want your cycle being cancelled because you've got symptoms from the vaccine 🤒 Really glad to hear that it sounds like your GP will help you out - I hope he catches up with you soon 🤞

I'm a scientist in an NHS lab, so was really lucky that I could work from home during the FET (and my lovely managers didn't ask for a shielding letter to do so!). I'm back in today though, which has been a nice distraction 🙂

Oooh, we're on a really similar time line then! 🤩 My viability scan is on the 6th of May too! 😃 We can try and keep each other sane until then! 🤪 I'm already getting the fear though 😥 Last time I had a scan was at 10+5 (I got a BFP on my fresh cycle in Jan 2020), but there was no heartbeat so I'm obviously bricking it that the same thing will happen again 😞 Trying to stay as calm as possible and take one day at a time - what will be will be 🔮🧘‍♀️🔮🧘‍♀️ Other than the (understandable) shielding letter stress, how are you doing? Feeling OK with this early pregnancy craziness?x

IVFat43 · 19/04/2021 19:46

I know @Bella1984 OTD15 days is long, I had to ask her to confirm it at the clinic... they gave me a test, but others on different forums have had it confirmed earlier with a blood test.. I thought they’d suggest 10 being this Friday.. 😏. do hope you manage to shield, I’d be exactly the same!

@lucyinthe your 1 day after me aren’t you? I haven’t started spotting but again in other forums that say that’s good, its implantation bleed...I feel a little deflated not having it.. x

Bella1984 · 19/04/2021 20:11

Hi ladies,

@BambiOnIce80 yay, scan buddies! Mine is at 12 what time is yours? That is heartbreaking what happened at your last scan, I'm so sorry. Does that mean its an ectopic or CP? Praying we both get a good strong heartbeat at week 7 🙏🙏🙏

Yeah advice is so different it's frustrating. My clinic were a hard no of having rhe vacccine within 3 months of IVF. Even with me working either covid patients! I was offered first vaccine in Feb, but had to decline due to starting IVF in March. I also had gallbladder surgery in Jan only 6 weeks before this cycle. But on the plus side I did manage to lose 2.5 stone in the last 6 months, which I am so happy about & feel so much healthier. I struggled with my weight due to bipolar meds but came off them for ivf, a good silver lining!
My husband rang the clinic and a consultant is calling me tomorrow. Didn't think it would be this hard!

I had no spotting at all so don't read too much into that everyone, it seems some people get it and some don't and it doesn't mean a BFN or BFP either way.

Also to reassure those about to have their EC, I had 10 good follicles first cycle, 10 eggs collected and 8 fertilised. But only 2 embryos on d5 & both poor grades! Both transferred because so low . . . BFN. This cycle I had 12 good follicles but only 5 eggs collected due to my body releasing 7 eggs (maybe they were the poor quality ones!) Also had fluid on my womb, 6lbs! Had to have bloods &scan to ensure not OHHS (I am as fertile as a 25 year old apparently, despite being 36! MFI for us) Anyway, all 5 fertilised, fluid subsided within a day & we got a really good d5 embryo to transfer! So don't be too disheartened if you don't get the number of eggs / embryos you expect. It really is quality over quantity. There was an older lady in my clinic on her 4th cycle, she had ONE egg collected, it fertilised & made it to day 5, amazing! So stay positive, you really do just need one. I've never gotten any to freeze that would be amazing, but we got our BFP xx

lucyinthe · 19/04/2021 21:30

Thanks @BambiOnIce80 and @CurbsideProphet just a shock seeing it isn't it.

@IVFat43 I think it's too late to be implantation? I know I'm thinking the worst but so hard to stay level headed x

IVFat43 · 19/04/2021 21:53

@lucyinthe when is your OTD?

CurbsideProphet · 19/04/2021 21:55

@IVFat43 I read that only 7 - 40 ish % of women will actually experience spotting after embryo transfer, so you're definitely not in the minority. I'm finding it stressful and would much rather not have any, as I have to psyche myself up for several minutes every time I need the loo 😬

IVFat43 · 19/04/2021 22:01

@CurbsideProphet awww don’t get yourself worked up.. how long is it till you can test?

IVFat43 · 19/04/2021 22:03

I’m watching “Expecting Amy” she’s been sick from 5wks to 15wks...like none stop! It’s actually putting me off 🙈..

PT8998 · 19/04/2021 22:11

Holy moly, is anyone else struggling with fatigue? I almost fell asleep at lunchtime, got home from work and needed to go and lie down around 1820 and I woke up just after 2100. I’m now sat here, feeling rotten and wanting to sleep for a week 😴
