Currently 3dp5dt! Going crazy here. Keep thinking what will be will be. But I just wish I could see what is going on in there.
Anyone else in the tww? When is your OTD?

@Sunseasandwhitesangria I am so sorry lady! Did you test OTD? If not, I hope there is still time!

@Leonardo2021 congrats (although sorry that you're sat in ED with OHSS - I hope that they can get on top of it soon!)!!!

Danni02 · 23/04/2021 19:20

@tvdinners43 congratulations

PT8998 · 23/04/2021 19:24

@tvdinners43 I didn’t see that it went on to a new page! Congratulation!

Bella1984 · 24/04/2021 05:17

Hi ladies

Just a quick message to say congrats on the new BFPs and good luck to those of you still in the tww.

I have terrible insomnia still, past 3-4 weeks now. Hence the ludicrous time of this message!

I am leaving this thread for personal reasons. Physically I am doing wonderfully at 5 weeks +2 but my mental health has suffered and I need to take a step back and just focus on myself and staying well.

I wish every one of you good luck on your ivf / pregnancy journey.

Take care xx

KruT · 24/04/2021 10:02

OMG , I was away for a while and so much to catch up on

Sorry for everyone with BFN.

I am in the group of over 40 as well (40.5) :)

12dp5dt today and my OHSS symptoms are back since Wednesday- bloating, cramps, pain and insomniaSad. Woke up again in 4.30am Confused. I feel so tired and really want to sleep.
My OTD is Monday - blood test booked by the clinic. They strongly advised me not to test early but I will home test tomorrow.

Congratulations for the positive results Flowers

Aprilia123 · 24/04/2021 11:31

BFN for us, so looking forward toward the next cycle. Good luck everyone!

Danni02 · 27/04/2021 09:59

Hey guys, i was given a one step strip pregnancy test by the clinic, has anyone used it?

Bella1984 · 27/04/2021 11:23

Hi @Danni02

Yes you're the same clinic as me so that's what I was given to do at home on OTD. Its apparently much more accurate than home tests. Though most clinics seem to do blood tests? Maybe this is a covid thing? I did both anyway, digital and clinic one. You then upload your result onto the portal so a nurse will ring you the same day. Is it tomorrow?

Danni02 · 27/04/2021 11:43

Mine was yesterday but im afraid ive heard reports thats its not a great test..... I got a second faint pink line that disappeared within time, im going to test again on Friday but im just not sure if i trust this test

Bella1984 · 27/04/2021 12:07

@Danni02' I hadn't heard that, though I would never trust one test anyway. I did 3 home tests on day 9 after 5dt and then the official one plus 2 more on day 10 on OTD, all BFP with very strong lines. My line on the strip test was very bold pink and has still not disappeared weeks later. I also did a clear blue digital how many weeks test a few days ago which said 3+ weeks. So all good for me so far at least. Still anxiously awaiting my 7 week scan of course.

What did the clinic say yesterday? You could request some bloods maybe? Have your home tests been positive too? 🙏

Danni02 · 27/04/2021 12:40

The clinic say to retest ive read that pink lines can disappear if hcg levels are still low so my result is not a positive or negate. The clinic would have me retest tomorrow but im holding off til friday as it takes 2-4 for hcg to rise

Bella1984 · 27/04/2021 13:11

@Danni02 I thought the clinic might have offered to do some bloods for you if you're concerned? Have you not done any home tests yet? A lot of clinics test day 9 after 5dt, most 10 like ours. From what I read about the strip test, no matter how faint a line that is a BFP. So hopefully it is and you will get a darker line on your next test. I can say from experience mine was dark to bein with, but even darker from day 9 to day 10. I think in early pregnancy the hcg doubles per day. Hope it is all OK and hope the clinic are being supportive? Good luck xx

Danni02 · 27/04/2021 13:38

I hope so too @Bella1984, but i will let you all know

Anyone in the TWW after ivf ?
Bella1984 · 27/04/2021 13:47

Everything crossed for you @Danni02

I know my first cycle with the same strip test there was no line at all at 10 day after 5dt. And it was confirmed a BFN. I think a line, even faint is really encouraging. Of course you want to see a bolder line and see it get darker as hcg hopefully rises. Have you not done any hone tests? That would give you peace of mind would it not while you are waiting to restest? The early clearblue digital tests can detect as early as 1 week pregnant, so would definitely pick up hcg levels at week 4. Just an idea, you've maybe already done this. . .

Danni02 · 28/04/2021 08:30

Looks like its a BFN guys, good luck to everyone

Bella1984 · 28/04/2021 08:55

@Danni02, I'm so so sorry to hear this. After a BFN last November I know how truly heartbreaking this is 💔 I hope you can have a useful meeting with a consultant in a few weeks to discuss it all. Do you think you will try another cycle in future? Xx

Danni02 · 28/04/2021 09:07

@Bella1984
This was my second transfer, i have 2 more blastocyst on ice but i really need to lick my wounds first, the cycle was so different to my first and i need to get my head round the fact that it was progesterone that made me feel different, unfortunately fertility issues run in my family, my great aunt couldn't have children, at least 2 of my cousins struggled to have their children and my mum was told for 11 years she would never have any. I will probably try with my last 2 blastocyst but im honestly not sure to do if both of the are negative.
I hope everything goes well for your new pregnancy good luck

Bella1984 · 28/04/2021 09:22

I am really sorry Danni it is so tough. Its a different experience from me as it's my husband with infertility issues and no one in my family does either. They all popped out babies for fun . . . But this is tough too and my husband has the guilt of putting me through all of this. We had been TTC for 3 years with a failed cycle in Nov as I said. I understand totally about the progesterone as I had convinced myself I was pregnant last time too due to constantly running to the toilet, eating more, feeling 'hormonal etc'. Which makes it all the more devastating when you get a BFN.

I'm really pleased you have some frosties though, we never got any to freeze either cycle despite having 10+ eggs fertilised. Seemingly MFI affects how many eggs make it to day 5 so that's been an issue for us, even with ICSI.

Did your consultant at Belfast fertility do an US guided ET this time? I honestly feel my first cycle was doomed to fail after a non guided ET, which I didn't realise the importance of at the time. This time we saw exactly where the embryo went, like a wee shooting star. From what I have researched in medical journals, US guided is the gold standard and no one should be offered anything less. . .

For now be kind to yourself, give yourself a few months and you will feel differently. You still have 2 more blastocysts which would be a big comfort to me. My cousin and his wife just gave birth to a beautiful baby boy in Spain. It was their 3rd and final cycle, and she had a MC after a BFP on their 2nd cycle as well as surgery for OHHS after her first cycle. Everyone's ivf journey is different but they are all extremely challenging.

Sending big hugs xx

Sorry I’ve been away for a while and not replied. Been trying not to think about things too much.

@Bella1984 sorry to hear you were struggling with your mental health. I hope you’ve got enough support. The postcode lottery, not just for IVF, is a disgrace. I’m very lucky to get one fresh and up to two frozen where I am. I feel that’s a fair chance but even better to be in an area with more. Don’t want to detail though. Glad your pregnancy is going well.

@Sunseasandwhitesangria sorry for your negative result. I hope you’re looking after yourself.

@Leonardo2021 congratulations on your positive. I also had OHSS but mildly but was allowed a fresh transfer. Did you have a fresh or frozen? My symptoms of OHSS have been getting better so gearing myself up for a negative test tomorrow. Hope your breathing improves, worst symptom by far.

lottie198 · 29/04/2021 09:46

@VanillaSpiceCandle It was a fresh cycle and the ohss got better with me , then worse again. I think I'm past the worst now. I'm still bloated but not as bad as I was and definitely starting to pick up. No pregnancy symptoms though as such.! Not even sore boobs. I always said "I'd just know" when I'm pregnant. But that's really not the case. When is your test day? X

IVFat43 · 29/04/2021 10:32

BFN from me.. will be doing another cycle probably around July so I’m off to enjoy myself in the meantime! Absolutely fine with the outcome, will join another forum so I may see your names pop up.. good luck for those currently on their TWW, congratulations for those with positives! x

Bella1984 · 29/04/2021 10:49

Thank you @VanillaSpiceCandle, I've taken this week off work which has helped immensely. Postcode lottery indeed. Would you believe I got a letter today for IVF on the NHS after waiting 18 months already. It's only for the initial consultation, the wait for treatment is another year + here, useless! Thank goodness we have got our BFP (6 weeks today) 🙏

@IVFat43 so sorry to hear that, I was thinking about you the other day. You sound like you are coping amazingly well, 👏 definitely enjoy yourself, I know after my BFN I was heart broken, but did then enjoy all those treats which are off limits for ivf! I had a scalding hot bath with a cup of freshly ground coffee, a large glass of wine and a Hendricks gin and tonic (not together!) I've ordered my self a wooden bath caddy to have all my treats on (currently having luke warm baths with a thermometer to temperature check, better than no bath in my book!)

Hope you can at least enjoy some time either family and friends and wherever you are is beer garden weather! Sending hugs xx

willithappen · 29/04/2021 16:13

Sorry ladies I forgot to check back with this thread
I got my BFP at 6dp5dt, currently 9dp5dt and the wait until otd is agonising. Fingers crossed this is a sticky!

VanillaSpiceCandle · 29/04/2021 19:55

@lottie198 that’s interesting to know, everything I’ve read said the symptoms should get progressively worse if you do get pregnant. I did have cabergoline to treat the OHSS so maybe it’s suppressed it a little. My OTD is tomorrow and I haven’t tested.

I’m swinging between so hopeful and really worried. I hope I’m lucky.

@Bella1984 I would say how ironic. But that minimises it. Just ridiculous waiting times especially considering how important age is as a factor in success. 6 weeks sounds very real. Have you got a scan booked in yet?

@IVFat43 so sorry to hear your negative result. Wishing you luck in the future.

IVFat43 · 29/04/2021 22:03

Thanks guys xx
