Not sceptical - the fact is that in the first artical she had womb cancer, next artical, confirmed by her agent she has cervical cancer, which is quite often used when someone has pre-cancerous cells.

My mother died of 'cervical cancer'in christies hospital after enduring rdiation therapy and the controversial radion procedures that were being trialed-i dont really go with the cervical cancer =pre cancerous cells theory somehow.

I wish Jade Goody a swift and healthy recovery.

biglips · 19/08/2008 10:09

oh no!...i was wondering why she was collasping all the time. Poor girl.

Twiglett · 19/08/2008 10:18

I bet it's a PR stunt and she's had a dodgy smear

If I'm wrong I wish her all the best as a fellow human being

If I'm right, which we'll never know, it just goes to show doesn't it

Flamesparrow · 19/08/2008 10:24

Lackadaisycal - They aren't just abandoned in the house. With something like that they can easily just call them out. Don't they have weekly meetings with psychiatrists or summat too?

EachPeachPearMum · 19/08/2008 10:30

chapstickchick are you a namechanger?

chapstickchick · 19/08/2008 10:38

a namechnger in a bad way??...no!!

i used to be winday gales today but when it got sunny(remember those few days??) i thought id change my name ....... sorry if u thought i was a troll

MatBackFack · 19/08/2008 10:46

I agree with Twiglett. Remember when Jordan had "cancer of the finger2 around the time she was in I'm a Celebrity? Didn't amount to much. Sad. My friend had full-blown Cervical Cancer in her twenties and had to have a hysterectomy so if it is a PR stunt I / she / all teh other women with Cancer will not be impressed.

EachPeachPearMum · 19/08/2008 10:48

I thought you were! (namechanges don't need to be for bad reasons!) Just because of your mum- certainly no troll connection!
Not sure if we knew each other as children....

shhhh · 19/08/2008 10:54

I feel sad for her...she has had problems for years iir (from fainting when she did the reality "home" programme..can't recall the name now...and it was announced she was expecting her 1st.....to numerous occasions since..) wonder how long its gone unnoticed..

Hope all goes well and she recovers soon. No matter what she has/hasn't done its an illness and noone deserves it...

lucykate · 19/08/2008 10:56

i don't like jade but wouldn't wish cancer on her, but the cynical side of me thinks she already knew about the diagnosis. she's gone over to india, joined their big brother house, knowing full well she's got a get out quickly card. pr and sympathy all accomplished in one swoop.

MaryAnnSingleton · 19/08/2008 10:57

I don't think PR people would be sick enough to make it a stunt, not with something as serious as this -or am I very naive ?

MaryAnnSingleton · 19/08/2008 10:58

and I'm quite shocked at people's cynicism too

Kimi · 19/08/2008 10:58

Poor woman

lucykate · 19/08/2008 11:00

the cynicism comes from the fact that it is jade, anyone else, and it probably wouldn't be questioned.

belgo · 19/08/2008 11:01

I think people's cynicism is the result of the media and celebrity culture.

I hate to think of cancer ever being used a part of a publicity stunt, but I wouldn't put it past some parts of the media.

sherbetdipdab · 19/08/2008 11:02

How horrible.

They asked Max Clifford on the BBC site if it was a positive smear and he said no, it is a cancer which makes me think it really is.

Poor girl, 2 little boys as well.

geordieminx · 19/08/2008 11:04

csc, firstly sorry for the loss of your mum, and offence caused. I didnt really put myself very well. What i meant was there are some folk, especially in shleb world that have a tendency to over exaggerate things, whether it be the 'celebrity' their publicist or the paper. If she has got cervical cancer then i truely wish her all the best. But i would not be suprised if her cervical cancer turned out to be pre cancerous cells, which isnt nice but is something i lot of women, myself included have had, and have had urdued successfully.

lucykate · 19/08/2008 11:05

my mums ex owed her some money, and told her he was dying from cancer. he even shaved his head. it was all a lie.

not saying jade is lying, just saying there are a lot of unscrupulous people around, some may even work in the pr industry.

mayorquimby · 19/08/2008 11:05

sorry but this just screams publicity stunt.

didn't this happen years ago aswell?she announced to all the red tops that she had cancer and then it turned out she was just going in for cancer tests and was given the all clear?

and there is no way in hell that they would have informed her in the diary room of such a serious health problem without prior consent.

only a cynic would suggest that this would be great for re-establishing her public profile.

SoupDragon · 19/08/2008 11:07

Some of you are being really nasty.

RubySlippers · 19/08/2008 11:07

i actually don't think it is a publicity stunt

it could all backfire so horribly for her and she has already suffered with a huge backlash last year

it would be a wicked lie to tell

TheFifthApe · 19/08/2008 11:07

at the diary room

stinks to high heaven imo

onceinalifetime · 19/08/2008 11:15

I hope it's not too serious and that she makes a full recovery but I also hope it's not seen as an opportunity. I have visions of Max Clifford sitting at his desk working out ways of maximising the story .

mayorquimby · 19/08/2008 11:20

"I have visions of Max Clifford sitting at his desk working out ways of maximising the story . "

which is exactly what he will be doing as it's his job.and to my cynical mind it's exactly what j.goody wants him to be doing as there is no way you'd allow yourself to be told about such a serious illness in that manner unless you were using it for publicity.
because lets be honest, heroic cancer victim/survivor sounds a lot better than reality tv racist.

Guadalupe · 19/08/2008 11:21

People don't usually say cancer when they mean pre-cancerous changes do they?

I had a hysterectomy in May for early cervical cancer. I am 30. It was terrifying. Hopefully her treatment will be in time to ensure it's curative.
