You must be getting fed up with this. Be calm. x
Strange

There are more questions than answers, and quite frankly it’s appalling that we haven’t even had an update from the police this evening

I think it's weird to expect a public police update tbh.

Of course it should be a criminal investigation!

We have no body, no evidence of a fall. We have a phone on the ground, a loose dog and a harness and lead that is unexplained. We have 45 minutes unaccounted for. We have a professional woman that was of sound mind according to everyone around her on a teams meeting as she disappeared!
The police state foul play has been ruled out without mentioning the lack of CCTV on a main exit.

There are more questions than answers, and quite frankly it’s appalling that we haven’t even had an update from the police this evening.

Sorry, I missed it but what is your policing and investigation background?

None of that in itself makes it a criminal investigation and it has a large team of investigators on the enquiry so don’t be fooled into thinking there is less investigation being done than that in a criminal enquiry.

This is such a sad story. And you worry that the poor family will have no closure.

I have always wondered, if you did want to disappear from your own life and you had a secret bank account with a different bank that you and your partner didn’t use, would the police be able to find out? Would they speak to all banks? Or just the one they knew you and your partner used?

To open a bank account they have to verify your identity, and having done that said bank would appear on your credit report. Police would have access to all of that info if they wanted it.

Should have been sealed off immediately..local places farms etc. searched and questioned..forensics in.. the police have messed up

I can't believe I'm reading this.

She also said they were writing to the owners of the cars that passed on Garstang Lane.

Sorry, but I don’t understand your reply to my post?

Mirabai · 08/02/2023 20:22

They didn’t say they were more experienced than the police unit - he said the police divers were very good, experienced and thorough. He simply said his sonar equipment was more powerful.

Why are you still attacking this man?

Maybe read what I was actually replying to?

All these hero’s. I commend you , the ones show boating if they found a loose dog they’d be on to the police. How much better they are than the woman who found the dog and tied it up.

slow hand clap. We are all impressed by you. Take it to the bank, you’re better than she is,

👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

Sorry I’m completely confused by your reply? Who is show boating?

Thesesoundsfallintomymindwoowoo · 08/02/2023 20:28

Why did they have cctv in their house? Isn’t that a bit weird?

Also, how do we know they split up a few weeks ago and that she was out the night before and the kids were being babysat? Where does all this info come from?

Mirabai · 08/02/2023 20:29

Nicknacky · 08/02/2023 20:20

The police have been clear that all lines of enquiry are being investigated. It’s mumsnetters who are convinced they aren’t.

What they have said was that they looked at “every” potential suggestion of criminal involvement and discounted them all. That it remains their belief that she fell in the river and this is still a MP enquiry.

They have put all their eggs in the drowning basket and by doing so opened themselves up for criticism.

And yet neither I nor the person I was addressing found it so. Even stranger eh?

The two of them are obviously police or close to police. Maybe they know each other or are expressing solidarity with having to cope with people on an internet forum talking.

I’m referring to the sightings in the field, not the lady who found the phone? Someone needs to calm down & take their medication it seems

utterly baffling that anyone would think they are entitled to a daily update, the police’s job is hard enough without this level of batshittery

puppacup · 08/02/2023 20:29

not necessarily

Have posters said this?

Or indoor security camera, more likely. They are very common.

You seem to be implying that the person who found the dog has murdered her and thrown her in the lake. Are you? Do you think that’s reasonable?

Blessedwithsunshine · 08/02/2023 20:30

Anyone else wondering where this huge number of pp in support of the police have suddenly come from?

All of these people telling us it shouldn’t be a criminal investigation despite the volume of facts piling up that indicates the opposite is true?

PF himself ruling out Nicola was in the river at all. How can they ignore all of this?

OhmygodDont · 08/02/2023 20:30

Thing is. If she hasn’t drowned and it’s not criminal. She’s just walked away basically the one option that most people seem to think you can’t just do these days.

puppacup · 08/02/2023 20:31

I have indoor cameras as part of an alarm system thing.

melonraspberry · 08/02/2023 20:31

They might use cameras to check on the dog when out. I turn mine off when I’m home but if they have a particular room the dog stays in then it might stay on in there.

We have cameras inside and out as in blink and ring ones. Inside is on when we are not home basically.

Where is the evidence of criminality? Not being found in the water so far does not automatically make it a criminal enquiry.
