There is no possible scenario that makes any sense, which I guess is why everyone is so baffled by the case.
If the partner/sister were involved then why would they be out saying that they didn't think she was in the river? Surely they would be wanting people and the police to think she'd fallen in the river accidentally and the body potentially washed out to sea and never found.
If it wasn't Nicola on the walk that morning, that would have been a very risky thing to do, too much of a chance of someone noticing.
I can't see how someone would have attacked/abducted her. Surely someone would have heard something and it seems like it would have been some distance to get her back to a car or van parked up somewhere.
And lots of details are very unsettling, although clearly we don't know how much is true. There are reports she split with her partner a few weeks ago. It is well know that the period when someone is planning to or has just left a partner is the highest risk in domestic violence cases. Was the partner still living at the house or had he moved out?
There are reports that the children were being babysat by relatives the evening before and that Nicola messaged to say she'd be longer than expected. Did she definitely come home that evening? Where was she?
She was a regular poster on Facebook, posting lots of family pictures. But this went silent from the middle of December. No Christmas photos, nothing. What was going on in those past few months in her life?
Given that there seemed to be some unhappy stuff going on in her life, I think the chances of her accidentally falling in the river and drowning are slim. Maybe she did take her own life, but why have they not found a body yet?
If the partner did have any involvement, I do hope those 2 little girls remain safe.
