Meanwhile Harry Kane capitulates to FIFA who have capitulated to Qatar and won't be wearing his 'one love' armband after all.

Way to go, Haz.

I'd be relieved if it wasn't real money, obscene if it was right now

Pretty much what he said.

Joe Lycett's style isn't really for me but I can understand the anger he must feel about all of this.

the80sweregreat · 21/11/2022 13:23

FIFA have made it impossible for players to wear the armbands : it's a tricky one ;(

If he'd given the money to a gay rights charity instead of shredding it it would have been spent on raising awareness to far less effect than this has raised awareness.

@Thomaslovesalison HAHAHA what did I say?!

‘In an video update, Lycett explained: "The truth is, the money that went into the shredder was real, but the money that came out was fake.
"In fact, the 10 grand had already been donated to LGBTQ+ charities before I even pressed send on the initial tweet last week."
"I would never destroy real money," he told his followers, "I would never be so irresponsible.’

frazzledali · 21/11/2022 12:38

How do you feel now, you big babies?

So many stupid stupid people.

What are you on about? Didn’t your last comment get removed for being pointlessly hateful?

Runmybathforme · 21/11/2022 16:39

No he didn't. It was fake snd he has donated 10 grand to an LGBT charity.

OneFrenchEgg · 21/11/2022 16:56

I appreciated the touch of asking Attitude for permission.

KitchenSupper · 21/11/2022 23:02

He’s been all over the international press and social media. It’s brought Qatar to people’s attention in a different way, so it’s supplemented what others are doing. I’m sure this has turned out exactly as he hoped.
Good for him.
