I think Lougle was referring to the HCP’s goals for Alfie and his parents. Not his parents goals of a good death.

Guys, it's totally touching itself when you respond to the nonsense.

dontbesillyhenry · 26/04/2018 23:03

I know that...but if they won't accept it's going to happen how can they try and make it 'good'

Nicknacky · 26/04/2018 23:03

Yeo guys you are right, sorry for rising to it!

Americantan · 26/04/2018 23:05

The issue is though Lougle that regardless of his calming, the frenzy he whipped up continues. That’s the consequence of his free reign.

dontbesillyhenry · 26/04/2018 23:05

It really worries me how even now parents will not accept what is right in front of their eyes. It doesn't bode well for what lies ahead

Dancingleopard · 26/04/2018 23:05

dontbe it’s onviousky it’s going to happen but you make it sound like you can’t wait ... it’s twisted

SilverySurfer · 26/04/2018 23:10

Pathetic but if it makes you happy

SilverySurfer · 26/04/2018 23:11

My fear is not only will they try to remove Alfie to Italy or whichever is the latest country to have lost all sense and reason and got involved in this, if they get Alfie 'home' wherever that may be, who is going to stop them taking advice from the army who will be queuing up with defibs, aloe vera, snake oil and fuck knows what else. There will be a mile queue outside the house with these nutters bringing their 'cures'. It's utter madness.

Mightymucks · 26/04/2018 23:12

The amount of people on the army page that are saying they need updates or they will so upset if they don’t get updates says it all really

What exactly do people on this thread want? First of all they’re being criticised for ‘oh the army don’t really care about Alfie and they’ll just move on to the next child’, then it’s ‘oh, aren’t they just awful wanting updates and still being interested’.

An awful lot of posters on this thread are just getting amusement from getting to have a pop at chavs. So transparent. Ugh.

Nicknacky · 26/04/2018 23:14

mighty Do you think it's appropriate that complete strangers are pestering the family for updates and complaining they don't know what's going on? That's ugh.

MynameisJune · 26/04/2018 23:15

@mighty yet you are the only one who has used that C word in the whole thread.

I think a lot of people on this thread are projecting insecurities onto things that are being said.

Mightymucks · 26/04/2018 23:24

@mighty yet you are the only one who has used that C word in the whole thread.

It’s pretty implicit that’s what a lot of people mean and that a lot of posters are getting a kick out of their sense of superiority.

The morality of asking for updates is not what I’m talking about. Repeatedly on these threads people have been banging on about how they don’t care and will move on. Then they complain when they want to know.

It’s absolutely blatant that they’re not actually concerned but are just enjoying forming a virtual mob who are using a thin veneer of sanctimonious ‘concern’ to cover a pretty obvious glee at being able to publicly have a pop at poor people whilst maintaining the pretence of being right on liberals.

Mrsmadevans · 26/04/2018 23:26

I haven't seen posters having a pop at chavs here. Imho most posters here are very respectful and compassionate . I don't see any amusement either tbh.

StayingAtTamaras · 26/04/2018 23:26

I made a new thread to continue the discussion as this one is a few posts away from 1K

The top comments on this post are interesting. It seems public opinion doesn't always side with AA. www.facebook.com/itvnews/videos/10155817654572672/

whilstlersmother · 26/04/2018 23:28

If the hospital, who know so much more about the situation than anybody here, decide to give Alfie’s parents a chance then it would be magnanimous to wish them well.
If it doesn’t work out then those of you who believe it won’t can come back and tell us how you were right all along.

Americantan · 26/04/2018 23:29

mucks not kicks but concern, worry. Some of the absurd members of AA are why I am uncomfortable with trial by a jury of peers.

dontbesillyhenry · 26/04/2018 23:33

The constant posts on social media is fuelling the concern over how much the family are going to comply with the end of life plan. If they don't want any speculation on it they don't have to keep posting this kind of thing. And whether your words come from you or someone else makes no difference

Sonotcivil · 26/04/2018 23:49

Is there a new Thread?

IvorHughJarrs · 27/04/2018 01:03

I come from Liverpool. Alder Hey saved my brother's life several times. I have friends and relatives who work there.
I spoke to one tonight who told me every ward/department has a photoboard with staff pics and names on, many of which have been photographed and staff identified by supporters of TE and AA. Many staff, not just those from PICU, have faced negativity and felt afraid over recent weeks and sickness rates have risen as people are so stressed. This, in turn, is having an impact on patient care and on other staff
I am sorry for TE but think his actions have been inexcusable and am very suspicious of this sudden change of heart. I suspect it is more like to be another attempt to get what he wants rather than any new awareness

CuntinuousMingeprovement · 27/04/2018 07:25

Heaven forbid any of us condemning the excesses of AA might actually be working class ourselves. Impossible. Does Not Compute.
